It's been one week since her mother's body was found and Layla was an emotional wreck.
Her father was being charged to court and with all the accusations leveled against him, it will be a miracle if he isn't sentenced to life imprisonment. The government ceased all his assets and he has no access to his money so that means he can't even afford a good lawyer to defend him.
He has been asking to see Layla but she refused to go and see him. What is the need? What does he want to say to her? She can't help him and even if she can, she won't. She would rather pluck out her own eyes than help him.
She just feels bad that she came from a such dysfunctional family.
The news of what her father did, had already spread like wildfire, and Layla hasn't been able to go to school because everyone in her class keeps looking at her with pity whispering things behind her.
