"What do you want at this late hour?" Harry peeked through a grille and asked without opening the door.
"Is the child here?" Anton looked at the door and asked, this time with a little more impatience.
"What child?"
Anton frowned and said, "Harry, I won't play this game with you. We are here for the black eye because we don't trust a child to be its guardian. For that reason, for greater interests, the Light Association will take care of guarding that cursed object before the demon comes for it. Do you understand me?"
Harry furrowed his brow but still opened the door. He had glanced at the visible weapons behind Anton's jacket that he didn't bother to hide, so knowing something in advance about the Light Association, he didn't want to give them any trouble.
"What will you do to the child?" Harry asked this question when he saw several people entering.
Anton looked around and said, "We don't want anything from the child; we just need the black eye to set a trap for the demon."
"That demon won't be so naive." Harry felt furious at Anton's calmness.
"We know."
"No, if that demon passes from body to body, weapons won't hurt it much. Believe me when I say that you won't stand a chance."
Harry held Anton's arm as if he wanted to warn him.
Anton, on his part, just looked into the distance as agents brought a small stone box while carrying a mute child.
"Doesn't that child speak?" Anton took the stone box, looked at it slightly, and murmured, "Just in case..."
Harry, who hadn't seen what Anton was doing, replied, "Jayden is taking a vow of silence..."
But when he said these words, he could see with his own eyes as Anton's right hand bled, and after leaving a cross mark on the stone box, he handed it to an agent who was waiting on the side with a metal box.
"Make sure to protect the box twenty-four hours a day; I don't want any kind of failure." Anton, before saying that, walked toward the box and left a simple seal for even more security.
Harry knew that Anton was not a normal person, so after hesitating a bit, he asked, "Are you perhaps a ShadowBane?"
"One of the last ones. My father sent me to this place to eliminate the demon. It's very powerful, but it's not something we've never faced. We have experience," Anton said while looking at Jayden.
"What do we do with them, Guardian?" An agent who was on the side asked with some doubt.
"Of course, we're not going to kill them." Anton smiled slightly at this joke that was poorly taken by Harry and pointed, "We will take the child because he is the current guardian of the black eye and therefore the only one who can open the box with the black eye. Harry deserted, so his position cannot be maintained."
Jayden was surprised; he didn't know he was the guardian because his master told him to look for the next guardian, who was Harry, and for that reason, he had come here. So after hearing those words, he couldn't believe it.
"Do you want to come with us?" Anton looked at Harry, who seemed to hesitate but ultimately nodded.
"Then let's get going." Saying this, Anton signaled, and the people who were hidden in the surroundings came out to get into the vehicles.
"Are you wondering who they are?" Harry looked at the boy named Jayden with disgust, but despite his bad memories, he still felt sorry for him.
Jayden nodded silently. Due to his vow, he couldn't speak, but he understood everything that was being said. He didn't understand who these people with weapons were or why they knew about the stone box he had.
"Please, tell me." Jayden, who broke the vow of silence, didn't even realize he had done it.
Harry frowned and said, "Among what we know and don't know, there is a hidden society known as the Light Association. Its members are people hidden among urban society; they dedicate themselves to hunting creatures that slip between the veils of existence."
"Some are supernatural beasts, some born in the shadows of the collective unconscious, and others are entities that defy the laws of life and death. With their eyes fixed on the mysteries lurking in the darkness, the Light Association stands as the last bastion against the inexplicable."
Jayden looked at the people around him and said, "So, are they all monks?"
"Of course not, but the man you saw earlier is an exorcist priest." Harry fell silent after saying this and making it clear that he shouldn't bother these people.
"Zz... A new victim of the demon has been identified not very far from our distance; we are going to deviate to see if we can find something."
"Zz... Understood."
