"Eh? Did he just bail out without paying?" Folker said as his eyes lit up as he rubbed his chin.

'As far as I can remember, whenever trainers battle with bets, unless it's a draw, there has to be a loser and a winner' Folker thought to himself.

The battle wasn't particularly interrupted. It was just an accident and even Folker can take advantage of the situation and finish Pikachu up when it was feeling down. However, Frank decided to stop midway.

According to the rules of the alliance, when two trainers battle, the trainer who stopped the battle can be declared as the loser, and therefore, had to pay the bet according to their agreement.

"Well, I'm feeling particularly generous today, so I'll let him off for now" Folker said as he recalled Scizor and Lucario back to their pokeball.

Although the battle was stopped midway, to Magnemite's dissatisfaction, it still calmed it down to a certain extent. At the moment, it just stuck with Folker, with no intention to go back to its pokeball, at least for now.

"Let's head back to the city, and challenge the Cerulean Gym, maybe?" Folker said as he looked at Magnemite's figure. Magnemite just replied cheerfully as it levitated around Folker's figure.

"Magnemite"

Folker then walked back to the city and arrived in front of the Cerulean Gym.

...

Cerulean City Gym

The building looked like a large indoor stadium from the outside with a giant Dewgong signboard at the top but from the inside, the design is like an indoor swimming pool, with platforms above the water for trainers to walk on.

At this time, Folker stood inside the Gym near the entrance as he scanned the surroundings with awe. He was tempted to just get naked and dive into the pool for swimming alongside his pokemon but he suppressed his desires and walked through the platforms.

On the platforms, he can see trainers wearing swimming outfits while standing as they look at their pokemon on the pool. Some were having a battle while some were just training.

He walked through the end of the platforms and noticed three beautiful women with wavy hairs. They looked similar to each other with the difference only in the colors of their hair and a little bit of variation on their hairstyles. They wore the same swimsuit design with different colors for the three of them, corresponding to the color of their hair.

'The Sensational Sisters' Folker thought to himself as he looked at the three women in front of him. He then approached them and said with a smile on his face "Excuse me, ladies-" but his sentence was suddenly cut short.

"I'm sorry, but If you want an interview, you have to ..like.. call the manager" Lily interrupted Folker's words.

"-I'm Folker and I'm here to challenge the Gym" Folker continued his sentence anyway. Lily was then taken aback and embarrassingly scratched her head with a blush on her face.

Folker was naturally attracted to their beauty and would like to spend time with them flirting but for some reason, he wasn't really in the mood for flirting these days. He always had an urge to get stronger as if he didn't have time.

The Sensational sisters looked at Folker simultaneously and looked at each other before nodding.

"Uhmmm... We don't feel all that much battling anymore" Daisy replied while avoiding Folker's eyes.

"What do you mean?" Folker replied with a confused expression on his face.

"We just got beaten three times in a row by kids from this nowhere place called Pallet Town" Violet said as she scratched her head.

'Pallet Town?' Folker thought to himself as he rubbed his chin. The only trainer he knew from Pallet Town is Chelsea.

'Academy rankers, maybe?' Folker guessed as he turned his gaze towards the Sensational sisters.

"It was just one defeat after another. My eyes are spinning after the losses" Violet replied with a sigh.

"We had to..like.. practically rush all our pokemon to the Pokemon Center" Daisy said.

"This is the only one left" Lily said as she grabbed a pokeball and called out the pokemon from inside.

A white piscine goldfish-like pokemon with orange markings and a horn on its forehead appeared as it splashed silently on the platform.

"You mean... all you have is a Goldeen?" Folker asked.

"If it would evolve into a Seaking, we could use it. But all it can do now is its [Horn-attack]" Violet replied with a bitter smile on her face.

"So.. like.. there's no point in battling" Daisy replied with a disappointed sigh.

"Now, instead of having matches, we have time to make ourselves look more beautiful than ever" Lily replied as she covered her mouth from embarrassment.

Folker just sighed in disappointment and was about to walk away when Daisy suddenly said "I know what you want".

She then clapped her hands twice and said "Seel".

Suddenly, a pinniped Pokémon with a thick hide covered in bluish-white fur surfaced from the pool and jumped into the platform as it opened its mouth, revealing the Cascade badge on its tongue.

She then picked up the badge and showed it to Folker and said "A Cascade badge. This is what you want, right? You can have it"

"T-thanks... uh.. I'd rather earn my badges" Folker said with hesitation.

"Take it. A badge is a badge. Here" Daisy insisted. Folker rubbed his chin for a while in hesitation before approaching Daisy closer as he raised his right hand forward, about to claim the badge.

Suddenly...

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" a shout suddenly grabbed Folker and the Sensational sisters' attention.

They looked at the direction they perceived where the shout came from and saw a female figure with short, red hair tied into a side ponytail with a blue elastic rubber band as she crossed her arms firmly with a frown on her face.

'Misty!' Folker shouted in his mind with a surprised expression on his face as he looked at her figure.
