Chapter 42

During those past two weeks Evan has been doing a special training with his Pokémon, At this time finally Evan managed to get each of his Pokémon promoted to Early King.

[Rayquaza(mid mythic), 2 Deoxys(early-Legend) , Salamence (Late King), Sylveon(Mid King), Milotic(Early King), Blaziken(Early King), Gallade(Early King), Sceptile(Early King), Absol(Early King), Feebas(Late Ordinary) ]

Evan is currently trying to let Salamence break through Late king stage, unfortunately it's not getting Enough experience.

After training continuously in this two weeks, Evan has assembled a monster team. Evan looked at the sky after concluding his special training, So he took his Pokémons to the Pokémon Center to check it out. The opening ceremony of the Hoenn league is tomorrow and Evan has to adjust his team to compete tomorrow.

Seeing Evan training Ash also trained his Pokémon really hard in this 2 weeks resulting, Ash's Grovyle finally evolved into a Sceptile adding another strong Pokémon to his team.

After finishing training Evan walked up to Ash to go to Pokémon center and got caught up with Morrison , on the way, Evan noticed that Morrison was exactly like Ash, he knew nothing about the rules, Ash and Evan also learned that,Morrison haven't even registered for the conference. Just like Ash , Morrison was a battle junkie without any knowledge. Evan explained about the rules of conference briefly as they headed towards the Pokémon center.

Fortunately, they arrived at Pokémon center at 5 O'clock barely getting Morrison to register for the conference.

"I'm glad I caught up, Thanks Evan and Ash" Morrison thanked them.

Evan waved his hand and said that it was a trivial matter, and then they happened to bump into Tyson and the three of them got to know each other.

The next day

The preliminary round officially started, the purpose of the preliminaries is to eliminate more than 256 contestants participating in the Hoenn league before entering the official league. Moreover, the preliminaries are 1on1 and the Pokémon you are going to use in the preliminaries must be registered first.

Therefore, the trainers will use their best Pokémon in order to enter the official match.

Before Evan and Ash's match Morrison's preliminary round has already started, and he used his beldum that he trained the most, and his opponent uses Electabuzz, Morrison defeated his opponent as his Beldum evolved successfully into a Metang.

On the other hand,Tyson who won the Hoenn league championship in the anime, his Meowth faced a Persian, even after defeating Persian Tyson's Meowth lose control of itself and if Tyson doesn't made a right judgement he would have been forced to disqualification.

Ash also won smoothly with his Pikachu against Gilbert and his Hitmonlee.

And Evan used his Absol in the preliminary round defeating his opponent without any obstacle.

After the preliminary Evan and his friends had a meal with Tyson, and Tyson told everyone about Meowth's past who was kicked out of it's pack by Persian after loosing battling for the leader's position.

Early in the morning after going through the cruel elimination preliminary phase, Ash took his Pikachu and went out for a walk. During the competition, Ash had difficulty sleeping, so going for a morning walk is his way of venting his energy.

After breakfast, Evan and his friends came to the Pokémon center dedicated to the conference, where the information about the competition will be announced.

In the meantime Brock and Max were enjoying their time, Max on the latest Pokénap which can receive the information about the competition, and Brock who was taking notes of beautiful female trainers.

"It's my privilege to announce this year's pairings for the Ever Grande Hoenn league championship qualifying rounds, first of 256 trainers from the preliminary rounds, out of these trainers the qualifying rounds will produce only 32 winners who will move on to the victory tournament, three wins are required to pass the qualifying rounds and all battles will be double battles!" Nurse Joy held the microphone and explained the rules.

"Oh wow three wins and they are all double battles!" Max exclaimed with a surprise.

"No kidding and one lost, you will be going home directly" Brock said with a frown.

"Not bad, I'm getting more and more excited" Morrison said confidently.

"That's right me too!" Ash doesn't have a word fear on his dictionary.

"Oh well, I'm so worried!" Evan was getting nervous as this was his first time getting such an experience.

"Okay the pairings are out!" Max pointed at the big screen.

Ash's match was in the afternoon of Block C, while Morrison's match was placed in the morning of Block E.

"I am in Block A, the first match in the morning" Evan said to everyone.

"That's great I can watch Evan's match first!" Max cheered.

Just like that Evan and his friends came to Block A together.

In the audience seat, Ash and the others were staring at Tyson and May with cold sweat on their face, the two foodies were holding a huge pineapple bread butter and gnawing on it as if it was going to be stolen.

On the Battlefield, Evan and his opponent, a brown haired boy walked into the field and stood opposite to each other.

The opponent send out his Electabuzz and Swampert. And Evan chose to send out Sceptile and Absol.

In the end Evan won his first qualifier round easily within 6 minutes.

Right after Evan's match ended,everyone went to watch Morrison's battle qualifier.Morrison decided to use Growlithe and Gligar,His opponent was a muscular uncle who used his Machamp and Marowak.

Morrison was having a hard time with the uncle but with his boldness and determination he defeated the uncle.

After Morrison's battle was over,everyone converged again. This time they went to watch Ash's first qualifier battle.

As for they're hungry or not they didn't need to worry as May have bought alot of pineapple bread butter,on the battlefield in Bock C Ash's opponent used Tropius and Swalot.

And Ash uses his Torkoal and Corphish, Evan was confused with the Ash's weird opponent, even though Tropius got type advantage it was attacking Toarkoa with bullet seed instead of Corphish , and swalot was attacking Corphish with mudshot which is weak against water type Pokémon 'Is he stupid or something!' Evan thought to himself, well but it worked out for Ash.

Ash's Torkoal missed his overheat on Tropius who flew in the air,but the second attack sccessfully hit Tropius, but Torkoal also took a hit by Solar beam making both Tropius and Torkoal causing to lose the ability to fight.

The next moment, Corphish rushed towards Swalot facing shock waves by it's crab hammer, facing the unfavourable electric type move Ash's Corphish relied on its guts to stick to the opponent in one go and seized the opportunity to grab Swalot's beard with it's pincers and slammed it down, then stuffed Swalot with the bubble beam for the final blow.

And Ash wins his first qualifier round successfully.

"He always gives us a surprise with his creative tactics" Seing Ash's unique tactics, Evan nodded in agreement.

Finally today's qualifier round was over, visiting from one place to another Evan was exhausted, Seeing Ash and Morrison rivalry, Evan smiled slightly and dozed off on the bench.

Evan who accidentally fell asleep leaned to the side when he felt someone's familiar presencesurprise, he felt comfortable and fell asleep on his shoulders.

"Steven!!" Ash and others opened their mouths in surprise.

"Hushhh!" With a quiet gesture,Steven gently held his brother on his arms. Then looked at Ash and his friends, and waved lightly.

"Okay... We'll be leaving first" Brock understood the gesture and decided leave for Pokémon center first.

The first day of qualifier round of the Ever Grande,Hoenn league is finally over, Evan and his Hoenn league's championship will continue.
