Evan and his friends finally arrived at the location of the sixth gym, Fortree city.

"What should we do? Go to the pokémon center first or go to the gym first?" Brock asked looking at Evan and Ash.

"Of course we should go for a gym first" Ash said without a hestitation confidently.

"I'm fine with that!" Evan nodded as agreeing to Ash's advice.

As they climbed the stairs towards the gym, Brock explained that Fortree city is also known as the city among trees, and Fortree gym as Sky gym.

May followed Evan and others dejectedly " Of course it's great to have a gym battle, but why haven't we arrive yet" May shouted as she was getting frustrated climbing the stairs.

After alot of effort, they finally arrived at the gym. There are two statues of Charizard and Skarmory indicating that it's a flying attribute gym.

"Hello there, I'm here to request a gym battle"Ash started to shout as soon as they arrived at the entrance.

"Welcome to the Fortree gym everyone" Hearing the voice of Ash a young walked out of the gym entrance to welcome Evan and his friends.

"Hello,May we see the gym leader please,my name is Ash,I'm from Pallet town and I'm here to request for a gym battle" Ash directly told the purpose of their visit.

"And I'm Evan from Rustboro city, I also came with the same purpose"

"Hi Ash, Evan, I am Zackery the assistant here, the gym leader is at town today and I'm afraid she is busy at the moment" Zackery informed Evan and his friends regretfully.

The assistant informed Evan and his friends about the purpose why the gym leader went to the town, it was because she is helping for a Sky festival which held once in a year.

After hearing this Ash decided to go to the town in search of the gym leader.

"I don't wanna go, it's so tiring" May retorted. And Brock added "not only that, we have to come back again for a gym battle." Hearing this May frowned and followed others.

All the way down the ladder came to the town of Fortree city. Everyone sighed at the excite of the festival.

"Let's go for a stroll too" Brock suggested excitedly.

"No, we have to find the gym leader" This time it was Ash who pulled Brock's ear.

"Hey where's Evan? " Suddenly May noticed Evan wasn't with them, then a huge shadow came from the above. It was Evan riding Salamence." Oh hello guys, you sure are fast"

Everyone looked at Evan with dissatisfied expression.

Soon after, they saw a huge Skarmory on the sky above the town. And a trainer riding on it, after a while they came to know that her name was Winona, the gym leader of Fortree gym.

After learning Winona was the gym leader, Ash requested for a gym battle and Winona agreed but after the festival so Evan and his friends decided to enjoy the festival.

They also released all of their pokémon to enjoy the festival with them.And with the fireworks at night the festival came to an end.

The next day

Evan and his friends at the Fortree gym, Evan took the initiative to challenge first as Ash was having a bad stomach ache.

The battle platform of the gym is built at a very high altitude and the trainers ring is about 10 meters high above the ground.

Winona half-kneeled on the trainer ringring, praying to the sky before the battle.

Yesterday night Evan made a decision and decided to use Gallade, Grovyle and Salamence for this gym battle.

After evolving into Gallade it learned alot of close combat attacks.

After sorting out the pokemon, Evan finalized his team to battle Winona.

After Winona's prayer ended, Zackery as the referee started introducing to the rules, "The 3 on 3 battle between the Fortree gym leader, Winona and the challenger Evan from Rustbo city will begin.The challenger may substitute their pokémon during the battle but the gym leader cannot, when all the pokémon of one side is unable to battle, the other side will be deemed the victor,Let's begin."

Winona immediately took out her pokeball and sent out the first pokémon "Come out Altaria!"

'Level 37,it should be her second team' thought Evan to himself.

Since it was level 37,"then it's your time to fight your first gym battle, Grovyle" Evan sent out a grovyle Winona including everyone was shocked to see Grovyle who was weak against a flying type pokémon.

"Grovyle say hello to Altaria with a rock slide" Winona got startled again with Evan's unexpected move.

"Grovylee~" a huge number rock slide hit altaria knocking it down.

"It's a rock slide, it must have been effective" Watching Altaria fly back desperately to the sky, Max cheered.

"Altaria use peck attack" Winona was eager to pay back and ordered an effective move against Grovyle but Evan remain calm.

"Now Grovyle, acrobatics followed by Dragon breath" After dodging Altaria's peck Grovyle hit altaria badly with dragon breath and it couldn't take it anymore and fell down to the ground.

"I'm surprised to see an unexpected moves like rock slide and dragon breath", Winona commented on the battle and, Evan nodded.

"Come back Altaria, Come out, Skarmory" Winona took back Altaria and sent out her second pokémon.

"Grovyle, return" Evan took back Grovyle "come out Gallade, I choose you" "Gallade~" Winona frowned seeing Grovyle substitute out.

"Alright skarmory steel wings"

"Gallade use quick guard and then swords dance" "Gallade~" Gallade took steel wings head on with quick guard.

"Now gallade psycho cut" Evan continued to attack without giving Winona an opportunity to attack.

Although psycho cut hit skarmory Winona didnt give up and gave out her order "Skarmory drill pack" As a semi fighting type if drill peck hit it would be effective but Evan wouldn't just let it be.

"Gallade, dodge with teleport and use fire punch" "Gallade~"

After Gallade's fire punch hit skarmory, it screamed in pain.

"End it with psycho cut, gallade" Skarmory who was already on a verge of loosing directly fell down on the ground after getting hit with psycho cut.

"Skarmory is unable to battle, Gallade wins"

"You looked cool out there Gallade" "Gallade~" Gallade nodded at Evan's praise.

Winona took back skarmory and sent out her last pokémon "come on out swellow" Winona's Trump card shiny swellow appeared on stage which is completely different from Ash's swellow.

Looking at the shiny swellow Evan decided to use his monster among his team.

"Gallade return, let your elder brother have a chance to battle" Evan took Gallade back and took out a pokéball.

"Oh is Evan going to send out salamence" Said Max with an excitement.

"Go buddy, I choose you" A domineering and intimidating, a majestic Salamence appeared.

"Swellow use aeriel ace" Winona took the lead and her shiny swellow began to maneuver back and forth in the air.

"Salamence use dragon dance" Evan decided to end it with one attack after stacking it's power.

"Swellow double team" Winona gave out her command.

"Alright then let's wrap it up, Salamence draco meteor" Salamence release an energy in the air and suddenly a lot of meteor started falling hitting swellow's clone and eventually swellow and looses directly the ability to fight.

"The match is over, Salamence wins and the the winner of the match is Evan from Rustboro city" Zackery announced the result.

"Being able to achieve such a strength at this age, I look forward to your performance in the Hoenn league" After adjusting her mentality She gave the Feather Badge to Evan.

"I got the Feather badge" Evan decided to copy Ash.

"That was an awesome battle Evan" Max cheered Evan as he danced cheerfully.

"Alright let's head back and we'll watch Ash's gym battle tomorrow" Evan smiled and left the gym with May, Max and Brock as for Ash he is suffering in the toilet.

At the pokémon center in Fortree city, Ash sat weakly on the bed "damn it, I won't eat so many hamburgers anymore"

Evan earned his sixth badge and he only needed two more to go in order to participate in Hoenn league.
