CH30 (53), Rare? Not For Me! And Twins

It had been one week since his talk with his parents and Mikail could say, no matter how surprising it may sound, that nothing had changed as far as his schedule was concerned.

He still did the same things as before and he also still did his exercises out of the view of his parents.

He planned to slowly show his parents that he made progress with his psychic powers because it wouldn't make sense if he just start doing advanced exercises from the get-go.

The one positive thing he noted was that he could accelerate his learning process a bit more than he already had and his parents simply attributed it to his powers.

During his call with Rose, on Arcday, he learned that her Vulpix egg finally hatched.

It took about 5 months for the egg to hatch and that was without considering how long ago the Vulpix had laid the egg before it was given to Rose.

She also said that her parents put the egg inside an incubator that helped monitor and help the egg hatch a little faster, or it would have taken longer.

He was not sure if she was humble bragging or if she was openly bragging.

He already knew that real PokeEggs took a while to hatch with some species longer or shorter to hatch than others.

Apparently, Magikarp eggs on average took 5-6 months to hatch, which was according to his father on the shorter spectrum.

He had asked his parents about PokeEggs after hearing that the Vulpix had hatched.

Mikail's father told him that he had some time ago looked up how long Growlithe eggs take to hatch and that it took on average 16-18 months.

If the cycle was similar for the Vulpix species then Rose should be happy that her egg was not a recently laid one, or she would have had to wait even longer and he had noticed over the phone how impatient she had started to get while waiting for the egg to hatch.

Anyway, enough about Rose and her baby Vulpix, whom he was not jealous of at all.

As he said before, it had been a week since the talk with his parents and today a nice thing had happened.

He had been feeding the Magikarp that he had caught a supplement mix to boost their potential since that was easier and faster for them to absorb than giving them the raw material and letting them eat it or extract and absorb the energy on their own.

If they simply ate it then it would take a long while to digest and much of the effect would get lost.

If they tried to extract and absorb the energy on their own, the effect loss would be minimized but it would take much longer than it took with his mix.

He was digressing again but what was important was that the male Magikarp had promoted to light blue potential today.

Not only that but his Caterpie had just like Mothra before him, started to feel the itch of evolution.

Caterpie could now initiate an evolution as long as he wished to, but like Mikail had asked Mothra before he also asked Caterpie to delay his evolution for a while.

There was still more that could be easily achieved during Caterpie's current form and he wanted Caterpie to wait until then.

Once Caterpie reached the (high) iron stage he would seriously consider evolution but before that, there was no need to hurry since Caterpie was safe with him and not in any danger that necessitated evolving as fast as he could.

Another 2 weeks later his female Magikarp was also promoted to light blue potential thanks to his supplements.

Together, with the male Magikarp and Mothra he already had 3 Pokemon with light blue or blue potential.

If he counted the chibi Nidoran that would undoubtedly reach light blue potential as well under his tender care he would have 5 Pokemon with light blue or blue potential, even though such Pokemon are really rare.

This was all thanks to his space that not only upgraded the potential of his Pokemon but also supplied him with a steady stream of material that he could use as supplements, otherwise, it would have been much harder for him to have Pokemon with such good potential.

Oh, he was sure he could have done it anyway, thanks to the potential increase that the limit break provided but that would have taken much, much longer and he would have had to focus on a small number of Pokemon.

Mikail was thinking about capturing all the Magikarp inside his pond to check their potential status but over the last 3 weeks he had only managed to gather 9 Common Balls and that was including the third ball leftover from the time he caught the two Magikarp.

Besides the two light blue Magikarp and his two specimens, he had another 15 Magikarp inside his pond so he would have to wait until he had enough balls to catch them all.

He was not sure why he did not simply catch them separately but since he wanted to do it at once, he would do it at once.

It was not like there was someone that could tell him otherwise, right?

He shook his head at that.

Now, that both his Magikarp had been promoted to light blue potential he believed that it was time for them to produce some babies for him.

He had to make sure that they had some alone time without getting disturbed and hopefully they would do the rest.

One week had passed since then, and like he had predicted the two Magikarp shared some intimate moments, but he was not sure if the female Magikarp was pregnant yet.

He would have to wait, at most, it would take some more time and thankfully he had more than enough of that.

Currently, Mikail was inside his space, to be specific he was at the Nidoran's area.

Since he had decided to bond with the chibis the natural way Mikail would spend 1-2 hours every day playing with them and feeding them berries as well as beneficial materials.

That was precisely what he was doing right now.

He had just played with the chibis for an hour and now he was sitting on the ground with the two of them on his lap.

Mikail was alternately petting the male and female Nidoran, while occasionally scratching them behind the ear, but that wasn't all he was doing, not at all.

Besides making them feel real good with his caresses, he would feed them berries or purple lilies.

He had been doing this for the last 6 weeks and he actually started to put the bonding issue aside to simply enjoy spending time with the two adorable little things.

Exactly, because of this, he became surprised when he suddenly felt the energy of the chibis reach out to his own, while he was caressing them.

He sent his own energy towards theirs and successfully established a bond with both of them.

"Huh, I honestly thought that would have taken longer."

Mikail said out loud while scratching both Nidoran behind their ear.

He could feel the bond between them and the feeling brought a bright smile to his face.

"Nonetheless, this is a pleasant surprise.

Thank you two for bonding with me."

He felt warmth being transferred from his bond and heard them chattering happily at him.

He turned to the parent pair that was watching them.

"I'll do my best to help them become the strongest Nidoking and Nidoqueen alive, you have my word."

He saw how they stared into his eyes for a while after his promise before they both nodded.

He was happy that he had their acceptance even if he did not truly need it.

It was after all easier to swim with the current instead of swimming against it and while there was not really anything the two could do to hinder him, their support would help his endeavors.

The chibis were still young, so having the help of their parents to help motivate them and keep them straight would be helpful.

He saw no reason to make his job harder so all free help was welcome.

After conveying his intention to the parents, he checked out the status of the chibi pair.

He first checked the status of the female Nidoran.

He started to muse as he looked through her status.

'Well, their age explains why they are chibi-sized, 16 months is still quite young after all.

I know that Nidoran normally mature when they are around 1 year or 36 months old, so they are not even halfway there.

It seems she is missing 35.2% to promote to light blue potential.

Hmm, that shouldn't take more than 3-4 months to fill, which was not that long.

I can't really train them while they are Stageless anyway, so hopefully, that time is enough for them to reach the (low) iron stage.

The next few lines are still the same.

Our bond is shown without the artificial part, so no problems there, and the quirks fit perfectly so no surprises there as well.

I am sure her curiosity and playfulness are what helped us bond faster than I expected and seeing that they are twins as well as the fact that their behavior is quite similar, makes me quite sure that the male chibi will have the same quirks.

So next up is her stage and I can see that she is missing 39% to reach the iron stage.

It looks like me feeding them all those supplements and playing with them has helped her develop.

Considering her age her development should have been below 50% otherwise.

The rest is not surprising and, as I had expected.'

What he saw was mostly as he expected after seeing the sister's status but still slightly surprising.

'Their age being the same is normal, since the two are twins, but, surprisingly, his potential is 0.6% behind that of his sister, even if it makes sense for them to not have identical numbers.

The quirks were the same just as he had assumed and like with his potential before he was a bit behind as far as his development was concerned as well.

He was 2% behind his sister on the road to the iron stage, but like they kept saying in my old world, girls mature faster than boys, so that could be the case here as well.

Because I made sure to feed them the same supplements and I did my best to interact with them equally, so those shouldn't be the reason for the sister's lead.

I expected their starting moves to be different and in this case, the games were correct, but I am sure I could make them teach each other their moves in the future.

They have 3-4 months to waste anyway and they can use that time for that.

I am sure their parents will help them.

If they finish early, I'll make them focus on their Poison Sting.'

He felt satisfied after going through their status, especially when he concluded that they would promote to light blue potential in 3-4 months.

Most were already ecstatic when they managed to gain 1 or 2 blue potential Pokemon during their career, but here he was, already having 2 light blue and 1 blue potential Pokemon with 2 more light blue potential Pokemon on their way.

Yes, this brought a smile to his face.

He got happy whenever he thought of that.

Naturally, he was only talking about the general trainer population, when he said that finding 1 or 2 light blue Pokemon was extremely fortunate.

People like his father or most Ace and upwards trainers were not included in this.

Mikail was sure that those had some light blue or better potential Pokemon because it would have been really hard to reach their position otherwise.

He was not saying that he believed it to be impossible to reach that height without them but he was sure that it would be much harder.

Anyway, Mikail scratched the two chibis a few more times before he stood up and gave the family some more berries.

After that, he left the space and continued with his day.
