CHAPTER 39 – TERRITORIAL FIGHT (Fixed)

In the previous chapter we saw how our heroes, together with Bruno solve the problem of the Onyx by removing a Boldore that was bothering him, from his body, after this, Bruno advised them to catch some Pokémon in the Safari Zone and then said goodbye hoping to meet again one day, but, as it was already getting dark, our heroes looked for somewhere to take refuge and there, they found a myriad of caves, but just where they decided to take refuge for the night, they found a Cyndaquil.

With Ash.

The Cyndaquil looked at us with caution, seeing him like this, I looked at Pikachu in my man and he nodded, then went down and started talking to the Cyndaquil.

After a couple of minutes, Pikachu told us that we could pass, apparently he was trying to convince the Cyndaquil that we did not want to hurt him, we just wanted a place to spend the night.

When we entered, we saw that the Cyndaquil did not seem to be lying down just because, but had some scratches on his small leg that surely prevented him from walking properly.

"He looks like he's wounded in the leg" - Koharu said.

"Yes, luckily, I was able to restock potions at the Mall" – I nodded as I pulled a Potion from my backpack.

I carefully approached the Cyndaquil, who seemed to want to run, but could not stand up because of the pain.

"Don't worry, I don't want to hurt you, this is a product that will help heal your paw" – I said with a smile.

The Cyndaquil didn't seem very convinced, but he still let me get closer, so I picked him up and carefully put the Potion on his paw.

The Cyndaquil grimaced in pain and tried to get out of my embrace.

"Don't worry, it's normal for it to hurt, but in a few seconds it will disappear"- I smiled.

And so it was, after a few seconds, Cyndaquil stopped twisting and then I placed him on the ground.

"Quil" – said the Cyndaquil as he stood up.

"Little by little" – I said.

Cyndaquil nodded and took a few steps, seeing that it didn't hurt, he ran around me a little and rubbed his head against me as a thank you.

"Hahaha, it's nothing, it's been a pleasure to help you" – I said stroking his head.

As the girls watched this scene, they just smiled.

Seeing that he was busy petting such a cute Pokémon, they themselves started to make dinner and light a bonfire, courtesy of Focalor, although I say dinner, the truth is that it was canned food, you know, those take time to get bad so they are ideal in these cases.

Then, we took all the Pokémon out of their respective Pokéball, but at that moment, two other Pokémon suddenly appeared.

One of them was a Chikorita and the other was a small Torchic, the Chikorita wore what appeared to be blue berries with what appeared to be in his whips, you know, what comes out of the Pokémon when they use Vine Whip, right now I don't know the name, surely Orange Berries and Torchic, the poor thing, wore one in his beak since in this evolutionary phase he had no arms and had no ways to compensate like Chikorita.

But when they saw us, they were on guard and prepared to attack, at least until the Cyndaquil came out to calm the situation.

"Cyndaquil!" - said Cyndaquil.

"Chikori!" - said Chickorita.

"Torchic" - Torchic said.

After a couple of minutes of discussion, Chikorita and Torchic let their guard down and approached us.

Then, they thanked us, in their own way, in other words, they smiled at us and gave us the berries they had collected, they were not many, only 5 in total, but the girls and I, we used them to make a berry salad, with some of the ones we had bought at the Mall.

Obviously, Mew was out, as there was no one around, there was nothing to fear and the trio of initials didn't seem to care much about her presence, so it was a pretty joyful meal.

It should be said that Cyndaquil got along very well with me and the Chikorita seemed to make good friends with Verity, while Torchic seemed to get along very well with Nancy, Koharu was next to me and stroked the Cyndaquil from time to time.

Soon, it was dark and the Pokémon wanted to return to their Pokéball to sleep, well, less Pikachu of course and the trio of initials, logically.

The next morning.

We woke up with the dawn, something we are not used to because in the Pokémon Center there were blinds that covered all the light.

After waking up and then getting dressed, we all had breakfast together.

"Should we go now?" - asked Nancy with a yawn.

"I think so, Fuchsia is quite far away, so we better leave early" – I nodded with my eyes half closed.

I was still half asleep and I wasn't happy to have to wake up in the sunlight.

Verity and Koharu were a little lazier and took a few more minutes to get up.

"Well guys, it's been a pleasure, but we have to continue on our way" – I said with a smile.

But the initial three didn't seem very happy about this fact, then looked at each other and looked at us again.

"Quil!" - said Cyndaquil gesturing.

Chikorita and Torchic did the same.

"Do you want us to follow you?" - asked Verity.

The three nodded, so we followed them through the forest.

We didn't walk for a long time, until, we stopped, the initial three signaled us without any sound to look, so we did.

What we saw was a small clearing, it did not seem very special, at least until we saw a lot of Pokémon gathered, some were a Kingambit with some Bisharp and Pawniard, while, on the opposite side, there was a Scizor along with a lot of Scyther, and they did not seem to get along very well because it seemed that at any moment they were going to attack each other.

"Is this why you were hurt, did you cross paths with them?" – I asked.

"Quil" – Cyndaquil asintió.

"It's just a guess, but doesn't this seem like they're disputing territory?" – Nancy asked suddenly.

Thinking about it, it made a lot of sense, most likely the Kingambit and the Scizor were "alphas" to call them somehow, since there can not be two of them in the same territory, both fight each other constantly to conquer it, most likely this trio of Pokémon passed through here by chance and were not well received by them, I also tell you, thank goodness they managed to flee unharmed.

"Gambit!" - exclaimed the furious Kingabit.

"Scizor!" – denied the Scizor.

If he could guess the Kingambit probably told the Scizor to leave, but the Scizor refused.

Then, both were looking at each other menacingly for a while, until, in the end, they launched the attack.

"What do we do, should we intervene?" asked Koharu.

"No, this is the law of nature, if you want to fight so be it," I said.

But the trio of initials did not agree and told us to look around, which made me understand something, around us there were numerous Pokémon that were terrified of the fight, most likely these "alphas" did not belong to this place from the beginning and crossed at some point, which disturbed the Pokémon in the area, who lived in harmony.

"I see... I guess we'll intervene then" - I said after some thought.

The three of them were happy at my decision and the girls seemed to have had no complaint about it and instead supported me.

"The question here is, what should we do?" – I asked.

"I don't know, what if we wait for them to get tired before intervening?" – suggested Verity.

"Verity is right, intervening while attacking each other can be dangerous, it's best to wait" – Nancy nodded.

It may be a good plan, plus I have an idea.

"Mew, it's time to shine" – I said pulling Mew out of her Pokéball.

Mew walked out and sat directly on the shoulder opposite Pikachu.

"Well, the plan is as follows, after they have tired, Mew and Pikachu will launch an attack on both sides, Nancy and Verity will take care of the side of the Scizor while I and Koharu on the side of the Kingambit, remember, we have to make them flee the place, do you have any questions?" – I explained.

Everyone denied.

"Quil!" - said Cyndaquil.

"Chikori!" – this was Chikorita.

"Chic!" – and that Torchic.

I think I somehow understood them.

"Don't worry, Cyndaquil will come with me, Chikorita will go with Verity and Torchic with Nancy, we all have to help after all" – I said stroking his little head.

The three nodded, it seems that they really wanted to help solve the problem.

Our plan started about 1 hour after thinking about it, both sides were fighting relentlessly, but within an hour, they began to show signs of tiredness.

"Now, Pikachu, use Thunder Bolt, Mew, Shadow Ball!" – I ordered.

Mew and Pikachu went out.

"Pikachuuuu!" said Pikachu throwing his Thunder Bolt.

"Mew!" – and that was Mew throwing his Shadow Ball.

Both attacks had only one goal, to draw the attention of both sides to focus on us, so quickly, each followed their part of the plan, Koharu took out his Vaporeon while I continued with Pikachu and Mew, in addition to Cyndaquil who joined the battle.

"Gambit!" exclaimed the angry Kingabit.

"You'd better leave now!" – I said seriously.

"Gambit!" - exclaimed the Kingambit looking at me menacingly.

Then he turned to see his companions and they also stood on guard, as if they were going to jump on us at any moment.

"Since you don't want to leave for good...! Then it will be the hard way" - I said.

"That's right, we can't let you continue to harm the Pokémon that already lived here before" - Koharu nodded.

"Gambit!" - said the Kingambit pointing to several Bisharps.

Listening to their boss, about 5 Bisharp lunged towards us.

Illuminate their claws, surely they wanted to use Metal Claw on us.

"Pikachu , counter attack with Iron Tail, Mew, Aural Sphere, Cyndaquil, Flamethrower!" – I ordered.

"Vaporeon, use Water Gun!" – and that Koharu.

Numerous attacks were fired towards the Bisharps.

Pikachu's Iron Tail hit one of them and, after a brief crash, sent the Bisharp flying, Mew on the contrary easily dodged Bisharp's attacks and then sent him to fly with his Aural Sphere, while the Bisharp who went for Cyndaquil had no choice but to back down because the Flamethrower seemed to be damaging it too much.

As for Koharu, the Bisharp managed to break through the Water Gun, however, Vaporeon managed to dodge the Metal Claw in time and counterattack with a powerful Water Gun.

Seeing that his subordinates had lost the clash, Kingambit himself took the lead, as if he himself wanted to fight, in fact, he was already prepared to send Pikachu or even Mew, but it was Cyndaquil who stood in front of me.

"Cyndaquil!" - said Cyndaquil looking at me.

And obviously I understood, he wants to protect his home and he wants me to help him, a coach was what he lacked to get the most out of his potential, if he fought alone, he would probably lose, but with a coach behind, things change.

The Kingambit did not flinch and simply got down on his knees, bowed and a black aura enveloped him, then shot towards Cyndaquil with great speed.

"Dodge it using Quick Attack and then use Flamethrower!"

Cyndaquil listened to me and dodged the attack quickly using his own attack, then stood a couple of meters from the Kingambit and used a powerful Flamethrower that greatly pushed the Kingambit back.

The Kingambit did not give up and quickly wrapped his blades in a black aura and threw himself back towards Cyndaquil, the attack was surely Night Slash.

"Use Quick Attack again to dodge and then use Will-O-Wisp, let's slow down his attack!"

Cyndaquil dodged again using the same strategy, but now, instead of Flamethrower he used Will-O-Wisp, which directly impacted Kingambit reducing his attack, but he did not give up and connected several Night Slash in Cyndaquil, which, despite having diminished his attack, did great damage to Cyndaquil, the fight seemed lost, but he still had an ace up his sleeve because when Kingambit approached to attack again I gave a new order.

"Now, use Reversal!"

A brown aura enveloped Cyndaquil and with a force unbecoming such an adorable creature struck Kingambit that he could not resist the blow and was sent flying.

The damage he received was massive, to the point of almost weakening, he also seemed to understand that he couldn't against us, so he looked at his companions and nodded.

"¡Mew, Pikachu, surround them!" - I said.

"You too Vaporeon!" - said Koharu.

Everyone paid attention and surrounded the group, Mew had already formed a Shadow Ball and looked like he would throw it at any time, Pikachu emitted numerous sparks of electricity, the flame on Cyndaquil's back burned furiously, and Vaporeon had his mouth open ready to use Water Gun at any time.

When they were surrounded, everyone ran away terrified, Kingambit was the first, which was so overwhelmed that he had no choice but to leave the area, although Ash did not know it, the Kingambit never ever returned to this area, like the Scizor and his companions.
