8. Strange Power

Fearow didn't launch another attack right away. To be precise, it couldn't, but the other Spearows had already followed. Before they had time to think, Ash pulled Serena up and prepared to escape.

However, Serena was not on Ash's back now. The Spearows were too fast; it was too late, and Serena clung to Ash's arms in fear.

"Growlithe, use Flame Wheel!"

At that moment, there was a sound. Ash paused slightly when he heard it and turned around to look. On the road ahead, two Laboratory staff members appeared, each with a Growlithe, and the Growlithe released their moves simultaneously.

The vortex formed by the two flames was released into the air like a fiery dragon. A group of Spearow flying too fast couldn't avoid it in time. After being hit, they were scorched by the flame vortex, and their singed feathers fell from the air.

Others avoided it in time and quickly flew up to Fearow's side in the air.

"Come here!" Seizing the opportunity, the staff immediately shouted at Ash.

"Serena, let's go!" Seeing this, Ash pulled Serena and ran towards them.

"There is a Fearow; this is troublesome." The two staff members looked at Fearow in the sky. They had thought it was just Spearow, but they didn't expect a Fearow. Fearow is much more difficult to handle.

Before Growlithe evolves, even if there are two Growlithes, there's not much chance of winning. They are the staff of the Laboratory, not professional trainers, so it is even more difficult to deal with them.

At that moment, Fearow let out a cry. White light shone from its sharp long beak as it swooped down quickly, rushing towards the two Growlithe.

"Dodge!" The two commanded instinctively, and the two Growlithes quickly jumped to the left and right. Fearow passed through the center of the two Growlithes, rose rapidly, and flew past the two staff members, Ash, and Serena's heads.

As soon as it turned around in the sky, the light on Fearow's long beak disappeared. It then opened its mouth immediately, and the familiar move reappeared. Purple energy continued to gather.

"Uh-oh! It's Hyper Beam!" The expressions of the two staff members changed instantly. Before they had time to react, they heard a roar, and the Hyper Beam was released from the air.

"Danger!"

The two had no time to command. Ash looked in the direction of Growlithe and ran over quickly.

"Ash!" Serena yelled in panic when she saw this, but Ash had already run out.

The Hyper Beam hit the ground, exploding and instantly releasing smoke. The light swept forward along the ground. One Growlithe was on the edge, while the other was directly in front of the light.

Ash ran over, hugged the Growlithe who was about to be hit by the light, and jumped to the side. With light coming through from behind, the ground was constantly erupting.

"He's too reckless!" Seeing this, the two staff couldn't help but exclaim.

"Phew!" Serena breathed a sigh of relief when she saw this.

Ash threw himself to the side, fell to the ground holding Growlithe in his arms, and after avoiding the attack, he slowly got up and looked at Growlithe in his arms.

"Are you okay?"

"Growlithe!" Hearing Ash's voice, Growlithe barked a few times, then stuck out its tongue and licked Ash's cheek.

At this moment, the other Growlithe also ran over, growling as if asking about Ash and the first Growlithe's condition.

"Don't worry! But..." Ash responded and then frowned, looking at the sky. Now Fearow is recovering from using Hyper Beam and can't move for the time being, but it's still a big threat.

"Woof!" While looking at Fearow, Ash suddenly felt a strange vibration in his brain, and his eyes emitted a faint red light.

"What is this?" Ash looked at his hands, noticing a stream of red energy connecting him with the two Growlithe beside him.

Immediately, he felt a strange and wonderful sensation, as if, despite this being their first encounter, there was already a deep understanding between him and the Growlithe. This energy seemed to bind them together.

However, to the two staff members and Serena, it looked like Ash was just standing still, frozen in place.

"We can fight now. I have a plan to deal with Fearow. Are you willing to help me?" Ash asked, putting down the Growlithe in his arms and standing up.

"Woof!"

Both Growlithe barked in agreement and quickly ran to Ash's side, looking up at Fearow in the sky.

"This...is he serious?"

"Are you kidding? He's just a child!" The two staff members were shocked. Despite knowing Ash's potential from Professor Oak's reports, he was still only seven years old.

"Ash!" Serena clenched her small fists in worry, but she believed in Ash, silently encouraging him.

"Use Ember!" Without waiting for the staff to finish their thoughts, Ash was already commanding the two Growlithe.

Woof!

Boom!

The two Growlithe immediately exhaled hot breaths from their mouths, sending embers shooting into the air.

Ga!

Fearow, feeling taunted, flapped its wings and rose higher into the air, easily dodging the attack.

"No, such a direct attack won't work against Fearow!" The two staff members frowned, doubting the effectiveness of such an attack, especially from a child.

"Follow me if you can!" Ash taunted Fearow. He then turned and ran into the jungle. The two Growlithe followed him instantly. Fearow, lowering its altitude, pursued them. The other Spearows, seeing this, also followed.
