Pokemon - The Timeless Journey

No Truck-kun! Instead Aeroplane-kun helps our main character transmigrate in the beautiful world of Pokemon! But… the world of Pokemon is freaking dangerous! Follow the story of Orion and join him on the journey as he tours the world of pokemon while building the best team and battling against tough opponents while surviving numerous disasters. What to expect : 1. Smart and Consistent MC. 2. No Plot holes (hopefully). 3. An original story (I won't be following any canon storylines). 4. Lots of new characters. 5. Smart/Cunning side characters. 6. Chaotic and intense battles (I'll do my best. I'll need a lot of suggestions and constructive criticism to improve the battles). 7. No System. WARNING : 1. The world is dark. There will be a lot of deaths, killing and perhaps even gore (though I'll keep gore to a minimum and avoid using it when not necessary). 2. No Harem, No Lemons, No Pokephilia! 3. The MC isn't kind hearted and passionate like Shounen MCs. On the contrary, he will grow to be very ruthless to survive in this world. 4. The story will start slow. It will pick up pace after Orion begins his journey (I'll keep you updated about this). 5. I haven't seen the latest seasons. So you may not see many pokemons from Generation 8 and 9. 6. The world is an AU. Though many characters are the same, their teams and personalities could be slightly altered. 7. The MC won't become the best pokemon trainer in a short time. Though the story will revolve around him, the world will not. So don't expect him to receive much special treatment or gifts from every gym leader/champion/legendary pokemon. His struggles will be real. 8. There will be a lot of Monologues at the start of the story (especially in chp 3 and 4. Feel free to skip those if you aren't a fan of monologues). But later on it will be much less. If the above is what you are looking for in a fanfic, welcome on the journey :-) Disclaimer : I don't own Pokemon or its characters (except the original characters I create). The image used in the cover doesn't belong to me.

Chapter 69 : Happy Thoughts!

Orion's eyes widened. He thought, 'A waste person? Don't tell me that this energy will damage my brain! Shit! However, why is he still so calm?'

Orion quickly noticed that Cedric wasn't panicked. While Cedric hadn't helped Orion as much as he expected, Orion knew that Cedric did his best to ensure that every trainee who unlocked Psychic powers was taken good care of. He knew that Cedric wouldn't be this calm if Orion had no way of recovering. He calmed down and directly asked, "So, how do I get rid of it?"

Cedric was surprised. He looked at Orion meaningfully and analyzed, 'Not bad. He calmed down very quickly. It's better than I expected. He might have some hope of dealing with it quickly. Unfortunately, he will lose valuable time. It'll offset the advantage he built up by taking risks at a young age and training Pokemon. A pity but this should be a good lesson for him.'

Cedric replied, "There aren't many ways and all are very tricky. That is why a Psychic has to be very careful on the battlefield. The best way to deal with it is by not getting hit by it. Can you feel a red energy within you along with your normal Psychic Energy?"

Orion nodded. Cedric said, "As I said earlier, that is resentment created due to the untimely demise of the humans and Pokemon. One way to deal with it is to erase the resentment in the red energy. You can erase the darkness within it with light, that is, you either need to be very happy without any worries or you need to be in a very positive environment that slowly erases the resentment.

The other way is by having an unbreakable will. That resentment can be destroyed by your will if your will is strong enough. Unfortunately, that is difficult to achieve. Only a veteran of several wars, someone whose will has been tempered through deadly wars might succeed through this method.

That is why kids under the age of 15 aren't allowed in battle. You are too young and haven't experienced much of the world. If it had happened after you journeyed for 5-7 years, you might have been able to attempt this method."

Cedric let out a sigh. Orion paid attention carefully as Cedric still hadn't mentioned what he should do. Cedric looked at him and sighed once again as he said, "You will have to enter a special sanctuary."

Orion became confused. He asked, "Special sanctuary? What is that?"

Cedric explained, "There are a few small villages established around the world to deal with Psychics and Aura Guardians who suffer from this issue. These villages are extremely peaceful and are the best environment for us to live in. Several Psychics and Aura Guardians, who have grown tired of worldly affairs, retire to such places.

Anyway, these places also provide the perfect environment to recover from any such resentment slowly over a few years. Unfortunately, it'll put a stop to your Psychic training, and it won't allow you to begin your Pokémon journey."

Orion's eyes widened on hearing that. There was only one word in his mind, 'Unacceptable!'

Cedric sighed again on seeing his expression and said, "Don't worry, there will be others like you in the army. After all, it isn't possible to avoid this resentment every time. We will make arrangements for you guys to go to one such sanctuary and recover. For now, keep meditating and don't do anything else. I'll come visit you tomorrow."

Without waiting for Orion's response, Cedric left. He still had quite a lot of work left. Orion was still in shock. He took a deep breath and thought, 'This is totally unacceptable! I can't wait a few years to start my journey. It'll completely disrupt the training of my Pokemons.

Not to mention, it'll leave me far behind others of my age. Even though I have a good lead, other talented Trainers will catch up with my level in a couple of years. Besides, the children of Elite Trainers might have been training their Pokemon from a young age like me.

I can't afford to waste so much time. However, how do I deal with this?'

Even though Orion didn't want to waste so much time, he understood that dealing with the resentment would be his highest priority. If his brain got damaged, then everything else was pointless.

As Cedric was walking towards his office, a frown appeared on his face. He thought, 'One thing still doesn't make much sense. Even though resentment affects Psychics and Aura Guardians, it doesn't affect everyone equally. It can only affect them if they are affected mentally by the war.

The typical cases where someone gets affected is when they are leading other Trainers and feel responsible for the deaths of their subordinates. Another case that happens frequently is when a Psychic Trainer goes on a rampage in the middle of the war and kills too many Pokemon.

As someone who only observed the fight, Orion shouldn't have attracted the resentment. Unless he participated in the war or saw too many deaths and got affected by it… Sigh, what a troublesome kid.'

Cedric's analysis was close to the truth. Unfortunately, what he didn't know was that Orion had blamed himself for the Pokemon Tide. Even though he came up with excuses to avoid any responsibility, deep in his heart, he still felt responsible for it. It was why the resentment was attracted to him and entered his mind!

Back in the meditation room, Orion closed his eyes and sat in meditation position once again. However, he wasn't meditating. Instead, he was thinking, 'Time to think of happy thoughts!'

Orion quickly thought about how he entered the Pokemon world, 'I have entered the world of Pokemon! In my previous life, I dreamt for a couple of decades about going on an adventure in such a world. And I have the opportunity to turn my dreams into reality. There were millions who would love to have an opportunity like this, but I'm the only one who got it…'

Orion's mind quickly got lost thinking about this heaven-defying opportunity. He thought about several things that he wanted to do in this world. He thought about his Pokemon. He thought about the Pokemon he wanted to capture in the future. He thought about becoming the Champion and eventually becoming the strongest Pokemon Trainer. He even thought of a future where he could capture the Legendary and Mythical Pokemon!

A smile appeared on Orion's face as he got lost in such blissful thoughts. His Pokemon noticed his smile and relaxed slightly. Inside his head, the red energy calmed down slightly. However, it still kept attacking his Psychic Energy…

Orion kept thinking about a blissful future where he would achieve everything he wanted to for over an hour! Unfortunately, after the initial calmness, there hadn't been much impact on the red wave. Orion's headache was still very intense.

His smile gradually faded away as he let out a sigh and realized, 'It looks like this is a dead end. Even though the resentment calmed down slightly, not even a small portion of it was erased. And the very moment I stopped dreaming, it went back to being as ferocious as it was earlier… Sigh, it is difficult to think of peaceful thoughts when the Pokemon Tide is still on the back of my mind…'
