S4E12: Island Championship

So once the ship came into port, Foxx, Silvia and Joy all waited until the main rush was over to exit the ship and make their way first to someplace to get something to eat. After that they Foxx took the lead into the Orange Island Arena at which point we were greeted by Drake, the Master Gym Leader.

"Welcome have you both come to challenge me for the Orange Island Championship Trophy?" asked Drake as he held out his hand to Foxx and Silvia.

"No, just him." replied Silvia before Foxx had a chance to even say yes. This was last the first hearing that she didn't want to take on Drake for the championship trophy. Thus Foxx turned to look at her in confusion and she added, "I've gone far enough. Why take up more time then needed seeing as you're the one who really needs this to be recognized as a professor. As for me I'm an aid and will more then likely remain that until I take over for Professor Ivy someday."

"I know I can sometimes be pushy but we're not in that much of a hurry that we can both get a chance at the championship." replied Foxx, "Besides what if you ever decide to journey out away from these islands?"

"Then I will first face Drake here then go about my journey." replied Silvia as she looked down at Joy and smiled before adding, "Besides you have your own mission to focus on."

"You sure?" asked Foxx giving her one more chance to which she just smiled and nodded, thus Foxx turned back to face Drake before adding, "So how about we get this thing over with then."

"This will be a a full battle of six pokemon choose your fist pokemon wisely for I've only ever been beat once." replied Drake as he lead the way into the arena. "What's your name kid?"

"Foxx Oak." replied Foxx as he followed after with Joy at his side while Silvia took the path into the arena stands.

"Oak? Hmm any relation to Professor Oak of Kanto?" asked Drake as they entered the arena's battle area.

"Yes he's my adopted father." replied Foxx, "As for the one who beat you I take it you speak of Ash and his Pikachu?"

"I take it you knew him?" asked Drake with a smile, "Maybe this might indeed be a great battle if you are anything like Ash and Professor Oak."

"Oh I have my own style but I have indeed learned from both of them." replied Foxx as they both took their positions in the arena."

First out was Joy of course for Foxx as for Drake it was his ditto who quickly took the shape of a vulpix but was easily no match for Joy who'd fought other vulpixes as well as its evolved form ninetails. Thus it was a quick defeat but not one that didn't cost Joy a little strain and fatigue. Thus after recalling ditto Drake sent out onix only to realize the mistake as Foxx had faced off against Broke with a weaker Joy and won thus over the past year he's found easier ways to crush this rock pokemon yet Joy was indeed growing weaker as again she wasn't able to dodge every attack thrown at her.

Drake's third pokemon was gengar which caused some challenges only for it to end in a double knockout. Foxx was now down one pokemon while Drake had used up half of his team. This was indeed a challenge for him yet at the same time there were only two pokemon on his team he's really grown a relationship with and one of them had just been knocked out. Thus he recalled Joy into her pokeball before sending out Eevee.

As for Drake he sent out venusour which had a size advantage over Eevee but Eevee had the type advantage as she knew fire attacks as well as other elemental attacks of it's many evolved forms. Thus after a slight struggle Eevee was able to prevail over Drake's venusour forcing Drake to send out his electrobuzz. Great the one type Eevee didn't have an advantage over. Thus causing it to be a harder knock out but in the end this too was a double elimination leaving Drake with one final pokemon and Foxx with four but who could he trust enough to get through this.

Thus after seeing Drake toss out his dragonite he tries to defeat him first with his ghastly and then his gyarados only for both of them to be defeated thus causing Foxx to really think hard before tossing out his next pokemon because he only had two more that he could use for this battle according to the rules of the battle while in truth he still had four more pokemon left in his bag. So with a deep breath he though for a minute before smiling and reaching into his bag for the pokeball.

Then with a snap of his wrist he sent the ball into the air releasing his galarian ponyta into battle making a dredge mental conection and sending out his battle plan of which ponyta acted on starting an epic and long confrontation of which ended in a beam lock of dragonite's icebeam and ponyta's psybeam causing a large glowing and pulsing ball in the center of it.

Just then the ball collapsed causing into a sparking snapping like storm before suddenly pulsing outward blasting both pokemon hard against the walls shaking the whole arena and causing a great silent to fill the air as the spectators awaited to see what was going to happen next. In the end the two pokemon staggered a bit before crashing to the ground yet another double knockout. Foxx was then declared the victor as soon as he recalled ponyta and sent out one of his other pokemon to prove he had a sixth pokemon.

With a smile Drake handed over to Foxx an official Orange Island Campion's Trophy of which he placed in his bag before heading over to the Pokecenter to heal his pokemon. Once healed Foxx released Joy back out of er ball so she could walk the island with him while they awaited the next ferry back to Professor Ivy's island lab.
