S4E13: Rest & Research

Once back at Professor Ivy's Lab Foxx helped check the last few places the journal could possibly be while his pokemon rested outside of their pokeballs within a fenced off section of the feild next to the lab, except for gyarados who was in a small pond. As for Silvia she was talking with Professor Ivy. About her journey as well as selecting which of the pokemon she used would become hers to keep. It was in deed a time of relaxing for everyone.

"So Foxx are you ready for our battle?" asked Fantina as they searched yet another book shelf for the journal.

"I'd rather get a look at this journal some, besides we've been non-stop with these challenges and would like to let my pokemon get some rest as well." replied Foxx, "That is unless you're in a hurry to leave."

"I should be leaving soon but I can wait another day or two." replied Fantina with a smile before finding the old journal they were looking for and added, "Here it is."

"Thanks." exclaimed Foxx as he took the journal and found a table to sit down at and read it.

Now about the same time Joy came wandering in and leaped up on the table next to him. As for Silvia her and Professor Ivy had finished their discussion and came to join Foxx, Joy and Fantina at the table. Silvia smiled as she took a seat across from Foxx and reached over to pet Joy some.

"I see the trip was good for more then just training you battle technics." called Professor Ivy with a smile. "Silvia told me how skilled you are and if you will I would like you to also have one of the Pokemon that she used in her island challenge."

"Can I choose later we just found your journal and I'd like to figure out as much as possible about the G.S. Ball's location?" asked Foxx looking up from the journal to look at Professor Ivy who had her arms crossed.

"No, you've obsessed over opening the G.S.Ball that you've neglected your pokemon and your friends." rebuked Professor Ivy, "I have four messages for you on top of this pokemon for you to choose from. That ball has been sealed for ages and it can remain sealed for a little longer. Choose one of the remaining pokemon then call your friends back before actually relaxing a bit before I'll give you this journal back."

With that she snatched up the journal just as five of the six pokemon that Silvi used in their island challenges except for Leafeon of whom Silvia had chosen to be her pokemon partner. So with a sigh Foxx looked them over and knew Eevee wouldn't be too happy with him taking on an evolved form of her without a plan to evolve her but she was a great asset as she was. He had to make this decision very carefully.

"Umbreon." chose Foxx after a sigh as he knelt down in front of them.

"Good choice he will make a good addition to your team." replied Professor Ivy as she tossed umbreon's pokeball of which he easily caught.

"Joy show our new friend to the rest of the team and make sure to let Eevee know this doesn't change anything." called Foxx looking over at Joy with a smile while he also updated umbreon's pokeball.

"Vul, vul." replied Joy as she hopped down from the table next to umbreon before leading him out of the lab to the area where the rest of his pokemon were all playing.

"So tell me Foxx how is it that you are able to carry more then six pokemon?" asked Professor Ivy with her arms crossed.

"Bill, removed me from the storage system seeing as my plans aren't to seek championships and badges but for research and shutting down pokemon criminals like Team Rocket." explained Foxx, "This allows me to take as many pokemon as needed into battle when confronting and fighting criminals."

"I see, well I wouldn't let all of your pokemon roam out freely in public so much. Once you find a location to call home I'd then let them roam there while you travel with your select team of six maybe seven." warned Professor Ivy turning to lead the way to the phone for him to return his four calls to which she handed him a slip of paper before adding, "Here are your messages please return them."

Foxx looked at the note and noticed it had four names with a short message behind them as well as were to reach them.

~ Professor Oak: Hope everything is going well son please call me at the lab and let me know what you've found.

~ Misty: Hay Brock and me were wondering how you're likening the islands no need to call but if you do call me and I'll relay it to him. Have a nice day.

~ Jessie: Hay son hope you're finding everything you're looking for. Me and your father got married and are currently at the resort and can't wait to meet up with you when you're done there. Love you.

~ Dawn: Hay Foxx I hope the island challenges aren't too much of a challenge for you and that you can finish up your work there so we can meet up like planed. Love you.

Foxx smiled as he read through the note and all of the messages his family and friends had left. Now he knew if he started calling them all he'd never get to relax before his battle with Fantina. Yet he's not talked with them in some time especially Dawn, yet she was the only one he didn't know were she was or how to reach her thus he just called Professor Oak first giving him an update and leaving a message for Dawn with him.

Foxx then called Misty who mostly wanted to know how much things had changed since the last time she'd been on the islands thus in the end he just hung up on her. Lastly he called his parents and gave them a brief update before going to relax on the beach with Joy. It wasn't long before all of his pokemon except gyarados, who wasn't as able to freely move, came over and laid around them.
