Plundering Across the Cosmos

*Upload speed is unspecified, I will upload whenever I have free time.* *DISCLAIMER* This is NOT my original novel. I found it on an MTL website and found it fun and interesting so I decided to go down the rabbit hole and edit it with proper English (to the best of my abilities) so that others could enjoy it too. I changed the names for a lot of things, rewrote many others, and tried to make this story read as fluently as possible. If I'm being honest, the whole novel may have been exciting in its original language, but it isn't in English. So like I said before, I'm pretty much rewriting this novel to my liking, still following the original plot and story, but adding A LOT to it. So it technically is a fanfic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. If you guys want to go read the original MTL, its original author was "banana too dog" under the original title of "I Plunder Endlessly In the Interstellar Age" *END OF DISCLAIMER* In the interstellar era, gangs and predators run rampant across the galaxy. Ajax, a skilled artisan crafting energy blocks, finds himself at the bottom of society, subjected to relentless bullying. He plunges into the shadows to ensure his survival, ultimately joining a notorious gang. Ajax stumbles upon a remarkable discovery along his journey – a super warship capable of upgrading limitlessly, given the availability of resources. With this newfound power, he establishes the infamous bandit gang "Reapers." This marks the beginning of an era characterized by endless plundering and ruthless exploits.

Chapter 45

Ajax changed some of the weapons and accessories on the Reaper. First of all, the Vulcan cannon on his head was replaced by an anti-material energy cannon, which was taken from the Rakshasa-Level mech.

Although the Vulcan on his head had a high fire rate and could mow down crowds of people, it didn't have the ability to penetrate armor. When encountering a mech with high durability and thick armor, it would become useless.

The anti-material energy cannon is a long-range single-shot rifle with light characteristics and medium attack power. It could fire one round every 2 seconds with slight recoil and low energy consumption.

When not in use, the anti-material energy cannon will hang on the mech's back, and it can instantly rise above the head to fire. This also made up for the problem of Ajax's lack of long-range firepower. After all, the 35mm Vulcan on his arm and the particle compression cold cannon that came with the Reaper are most effective within a range of about 100 meters.

Not to mention his shoulder cannon wasn't accurate in long-range encounters, Ajax could only use the rifle to shoot from long range, highly limiting his mech's threat level. Ajax wanted to replace the shoulder cannon, but he couldn't find a suitable replacement for it. After all, most of the mechs he killed were melee units.

Ajax also replaced its armor from superalloy armor to light armor, and his ammunition from strengthened single rounds to compression converters. In addition to slightly increasing the mech's durability, the light armor can also reduce the weight of the outer armor, increasing the movement and reaction speed of the mech by 15%, which was exactly what a model like the Reaper needed.

The effect of the compression converter was to further enhance the compression efficiency of the weapon, and slightly increase the power of the particle compression cold cannon, shoulder cannon, and anti-material energy cannon.

After the update, the overall combat capability of the Destroyer had become much stronger. He ran a quick diagnostics:

Class: Warlock

Type: Bezerker

Durability: 97%

Energy Value: 74%

Accessories: Hydraulic Joints, Light Armor, Thrusters, Compression Converter, Composite Fiber

Weapons: Beam Rifle, Shoulder Cannon, Anti-Material Energy Cannon

Chassis Capabilities: Inactive

In addition, Ajax also installed a repaired ejection capsule in it. This could come in handy and save a pilot's life when defeat was imminent.

It would be perfect if there were a few more sets of missiles. Ajax planned to find some time to ask Bomen for some as he was planning to install some.

As for Lily, she also used some of the knowledge she learned from Ajax to equip the Rakshasa-Level mech with eliminated accessories and weapons. If she couldn't move it or she couldn't reach it, she called for Monkey's help. When everything was done, Lily named the Rakshasa-Level mech Sunflower.

It was such a cute name for a death machine, Ajax could only smile wryly, leaving Lily alone. It didn't matter to him as long as she didn't dismantle the mech...

Six days passed in the blink of an eye, during which time Bomen had been strengthening the defense of the business district and the mining area.

There were now 500 operators in the business district, 500 in the mining area, and 500 in the camp. 15 mechs of various types, two tanks, and one jet in the most important section of the mining area.

With such a distribution of combat power, no matter which area was attacked, the other two sides could provide timely support. Seeing that there was no sign of an attack from the Hell's League, Bomen went back to the camp in the afternoon and had a celebratory dinner party with his operators.

The main purpose was to commemorate the dead from the attack some time ago and celebrate their victory against all odds, a tradition of the Lazoole Society after each war.

There were a lot of people at the dinner party, except for some operators of the combat team, the family members of the operators, and the operators of the logistics team. The canteen area was packed to the brim.

Bomen finished his brief speech and led the crowd to hold a few minutes of silence. Then it was time to eat and drink.

Most of the operators who can come to the border have a habit of drinking, and everyone drank a lot. But Ajax didn't drink, he hadn't developed this habit yet, so instead he was just munching down anything he found tasty.

During the celebration, Lily came over and told him that tomorrow she would leave here with her mother and return to the Blauth Empire to live a normal life, and she could go to school.

Ajax congratulated her and ruffled her hair. If she studied hard then she had a shot at being admitted into the Apollo Academy as a pilot in the future. Although with Lily's talent, if she receives training now, she would become a formidable pilot in the future.

But there was no relationship between them. Ajax himself was a wanted murderer and was not qualified to teach others how to live their lives or create a better future.

Before the dinner was over, Lily thanked Ajax, and took the initiative to hug him, saying that he was a good person and that she would come back to see him when he had the chance.

She then asked for Ajax's Vox number because she wanted to send Ajax the photos of her studies. Ajax could only smile wryly at her. This kid was a little troublemaker, but she was very smart and quite likable. Ajax couldn't help but pray that she had a good future.

It was dark by the time the dinner party finished, the drunken operators and their family members returned home one after another, and the canteen area was soon left empty.

Bomen had drank a lot, so he slept in the camp. The business district and mining area would be just fine without him for a night.

Just when the entire camp had gradually gone to sleep, except for the defensive area, a figure appeared near the warehouse in the cafeteria area, it was Alex.

He hadn't left the camp yet and during these past days, he had begged Bomen many times to let him stay, saying that he knew he was wrong and that he wanted to stay in the camp.

But Bomen refused to hear him out, emphasizing that he had to leave, otherwise there will be an uproar in the camp and there would be chaos. Today was the last day he had to leave. Of course, he was not happy, why should he be expelled from the camp?

He hated Ajax for cutting off his ear and finger, hated Bomen for not having his back, and hated everyone in the camp.

So three days ago, he contacted Bach, the leader of the Hell's League, and promised to help them capture the camp from the inside. The condition was that Bach would pay him five million eddies after the matter was settled. *TN: I knew this bitch would do something*

He had betrayed the camp many times before, such as the location of Bomen in the bar the day Ajax first came. Another example is the information about the transport team and the military defense of the camp, as well as the news that Ajax is at the Lazoole Society, all of which he disclosed.

But those times he was just selling information, wanting to use the eddies to go gambling, so that he could buy his ticket off this space rock if he hit it big. He didn't really want Bomen to die, and he didn't reveal his identity to the people who bought the information.

After all, Bomen was his cousin, he treated him well, he lived quite comfortably in the camp, and he didn't want to be found out as an insider. However, after experiencing what happened a few days ago, he changed his mind. He's a dead man anyway, so why not drag as many as he could with him?

Bach naturally agreed immediately. The information Alex had given before was accurate, he could trust it and immediately reported it to Leanard of the Ashlin Group.

Leonard was also very excited about the news and asked Bach to explain the attack time and specific details to Alex. The pilots and mechs he sent were already in place, waiting impatiently for an opportunity to strike, and now the opportunity had come.

As for Alex's request, Leonard didn't take it seriously at all. Five million eddies was nothing compared to the entire border. Secondly, even he did agree, he didn't have to hold his end of the deal and could just arrange for an "unfortunate" accident to happen to Alex and keep the money...
