44. Manager?

In a building near the center of the city, a commotion had started. A woman was trying to enter the building without a key card. The woman was embarrassed as the security guard was now asking her to leave so she started leaving.

"Fei fei!" She heard her husband's voice from behind her, she turned around to see her husband in his pajamas rushing from inside the building.

'How did Xing get in there? Didn't the security say she needed a key card to enter?'

The security guard seeing a resident rushing out, bowed to him and politely asked, "Sorry sir, do you know this woman?"

Bai Xing understanding what was happening, explained everything to the guard, "Yes, this is my wife, we just moved in today so she does not have her key card with her."

The security guard remembered him coming in with a kid and a woman earlier but that woman had left after a while so he realized his mistake and apologized to the woman. "I am sorry for the inconvenience madam, I will be careful from now on."

These people looked normal but he knew better than to disrespect them. They had to be very rich to be able to buy a house here and these rich people could make sure he starved to death for the rest of his life so he bowed down in front of the woman carefully.

Fei Fei was dumbfounded by the difference in the security guard's treatment. She had been treated like shit before but this was her first time being treated respectfully.

She was then pulled inside by her husband and she followed him like a robot not knowing what was going on. Finally, when she had gotten into the lift she snapped back to reality.

'Wait! Did Xing just say they had moved in today? What does that mean? How can we move into a place like this?'

Before she could vocalize her questions the lift dinged, Bai Xing pulled Fei Fei into their home and shut the door. Xiao Ruan came running out of her room to greet her mother.

"Momma, come see my toys. Dada is helping me make a castle. I am a pwincess momma!" Xiao Ruan kept on giving Fei Fei all the details of each of her toys.

Fei Fei stood there like a fish out of water in the huge living room. She did not understand why they were here in the first place. She had to talk to her husband but she realized it would be difficult to do that in front of her daughter.

Fei Fei sighed, okay, she would've to pretend everything was normal for now. She bent down and picked up her daughter in her arms and asked her to show her the room Xiao Ruan was gushing on about.

When Fei Fei entered the room, she realized the room was indeed very beautiful and she could see how happy her daughter was. So she just sat beside her daughter and let the kid show her the toys and the unfinished castle.

Bai Xing saw the two talking about toys and went into the kitchen to make some sandwiches for dinner. RuQian was really awesome seeing as she made sure the refrigerator was fully stocked.

They would not have been able to go grocery shopping today. He kept seeing more and more of her caring nature. She never showed she cared in her words or her facial expressions but she did so using her actions.

The woman was an angel sent from above for their family was what Bai Xing thought. He wanted his wife to be able to quit her job, the first thing tomorrow but he knew she wouldn't. She liked her work, not the people there.

After making some sandwiches and some warm milk for Xiao Ruan, he called the mother and daughter to the dining area. Xiao Ruan and Fei Fei ate their dinner peacefully.

Bai Xing was the first to finish his food, he took out the cake and macaroons Xiao Ruan wanted to give Fei Fei and placed them on the table.

Fei Fei looked confused but still cut the cake into pieces and all three finished it no time. Some of the leftover macaroons were placed back in the refrigerator. Xiao Ruan finished her milk but she sat there staring at Bai Xing.

Bai Xing noticing his daughter's intense gaze looked at her questioningly but his daughter still did not respond. "What do you want to eat Xiao Ruan?"

He thought that maybe his daughter wanted something more. Xiao Ruan stared at her father for a while longer and replied, "I want to talk to Qian Jie."

Fei Fei did not know who her daughter was referring to so she glanced at her husband questioningly. Bai Xing sighed understanding what his daughter wanted.

"Well, your big sister wanted me to keep it a secret from you but since you want to disturb her I'll tell you. She will be coming home tomorrow as she wants to meet your mother."

Xiao Ruan's face lit up like a Christmas tree, "Can I talk to her now?"

Bai Xing sighed again, RuQian really had already spoiled his daughter, "Xiao Ruan, your big sister would be busy, you really want to disturb her? If you do that, she might not come home tomorrow. Will you be okay with that?"

"No!" Xiao Ruan immediately shook her head on reflex.

"Go sleep early, then when your big sister visits tomorrow evening you can play with her." Bai Xing coaxed the little girl.

Fei Fei could only listen in to the conversation as she did not know who they were talking about. Xiao Ruan nodded her head, kissed both her parents goodnight and left.

Xiao Ruan was a big girl who could brush, take a bath and sleep on her own without an adult's help. Usually either of the parent's tried to help her but today Fei Fei was too curious about this new house to do that.

She wanted to know what was going on, seeing her curious expression Bai Xing chuckled, led her to their bedroom and explained everything that had happened.

Fei Fei did know that someone wanted to meet her husband but she never in her dreams would've expected something like this to happen.

And when she heard of RuQian's age, she too was a little skeptical but her husband assured her there wouldn't be any problem. Bai Xing had an idea as to why RuQian wanted to meet Fei Fei.

Li Yifei, his wife, was an artist manager in Huangzi Entertainment. As RuQian had told him that she wished to be an actress, she would need a manager. He did not want to reveal any of this to his wife.

RuQian could do that herself. He was sure if RuQian really did want Fei Fei to be her manager, they would be in a win win situation. Fei Fei was a great manager but was being suppressed by another in the company.

If RuQian really became her artist, he wouldn't have to worry about his wife anymore.
