[Ping! Hello mortal, you've been selected to receive a system! To learn more, please say/think main menu.]
"First the monsters, and now some futuristic screen telling me about a system? How fucked up is my life?" I thought, oh hi! Names Nathan Parker, I'm 14 and have a weird and shitty life. Whys it weird you ask? You didn't? I don't care!
When I was 5 I saw a tall, ugly man with one eye walking around as if looking for something. Of course when I said something they didn't believe me and said I had a strange imagination.
But after a few years of seeing snake women, a bull man, and a literal flying demon from what was probably hell my parents took me to the doctor. Once again they said that nothings wrong and charged my parents to give me bullshit pills to stop hallucinations or something.
The pills didn't work and my parents were losing money, my dad being a dick left me and mom to who knows where, with my mom dying from overdose, from my pills. Since I was younger I was practically insane, so I dove into books on monster and mythology.
While reading I realized that I am seeing the same monsters in the books but in real life, which meant that God, and the other pantheons exist. Kinda hard to believe but when you see the monster(s) for yourself, you learn to face the cold hard facts.
By the time I was 10 I saw a couple of teens with bronze swords killing them, with one of the teens dying and dropping their sword. I watched as the teens were slain one by one, I threw up as I saw their insides get eaten by what looks like a hellhound if the stories and pictures were right.
After the monsters left I steeled myself and took the teens weapons for myself, I was disgusted but I knew I had to. I had already tried to kill a monster before and the kitchen knife I was using went right through him as if it were an illusion. But these swords could cut them, kill them.
I tried to pick them up but my hand went right through them, improvising I took off my shirt and bundled them together with the shirt covering it and was able to hold them.
After that I went to the Orphanage I was staying at and hid them. When watching the teens I heard the monsters mocking them and calling them half-bloods, with one of the teens mentioning a camp called Camp Half-Blood.
I had no idea where it was but I knew I wouldn't be able to go, I think it's called Camp Half-Blood for a reason, and since both of my parents are mortal I couldn't go. But that did not mean I can't train myself to protect myself.
From then to now I have been exercising and doing pseudo battle training against a few dead trees, and honestly I can say it really did wonders on my body.
Now, what to do with the screen? Should I do it? It knows my status of a mortal and was apparently given to me, so might as well.
'Main Menu.' I thought, as a new screen appeared in front of me.
[Main Menu:
Status
Skills
Perks
Inventory
Quests
Options]
'Wow, thats pretty detailed, lets go top down.' I thought, before selecting status mentally. Thats so cool.
[Status:

Int: 26
Wis: 26
Mag: 10
Luc: 22
Cha: 15
Remaining stat points: 80]
[Average stats for a mortal human is 25 as an adult, to learn more about the individual stats please tap them or mentally tap them.]
"Heh." I scoff, I'm almost as strong as a average man at 14? Whatever, I'm not stupid and can obviously tell that Str is strength, Vit is vitality, Dex is dexterity, Int is intelligence, Wis is wisdom, Mag is magic which is awesome! Luc being luck which I call bullshit, and Cha is charisma.
I'm assuming that since my physical stats are high, along with my mental ones that they can be raised via training. My intelligence raised due to my studying various mythologies and Wisdom for my pattern recognition? My luck is probably because I've gotten out of almost every situation that has a monster just fine. And Charisma because of how I look and speak.
At the bottom of the screen is the stat points I get from leveling I guess, which means that I get 5 every level, sweet. Ah, an important question.
'System, is their a cap on human stats?' i thought, if I'm to grow strong I'd need to know my limits.
[Yes, Humans have a soft cap at 50 which is super human level. Though this cap can be broken by being blessed by a god or having a system. Which will bypass all limits.]
'Wow so I have no limit? Awesome, okay how do tiers work?' I asked as the screen was replaced with another.
[Tiers:
Mortal: No multiplier
Blessed Mortal: 1.5 times multiplier
Demi-God (Minor God): 1.75 times multiplier
Demi-God (Major God): 2 times multiplier
Demi-Titan: 2.25 times multiplier
Immortal: 2.5 times multiplier
Minor God: 2.75 times multiplier
Major God: 3 times multiplier
Titan: 3.5 times multiplier
Giant: 3.5 times multiplier
Primordial: 4 times multiplier
Creator: 5 times multiplier]
[Anyone can achiever a higher rank such as blessed mortal and demi-god from a god.]
'Well shit, I'm mortal. Wait you said I can get a higher rank?' I thought as the screen is once again replaced by another.
[Yes, by getting max reputation with a god you have a high chance to be adopted or blessed, or you marry a goddess in which turns you into either a god or immortal.]
'Sweet, by the way does the Magic control work like chakra control from Naruto?' I asked, when the screen changes.
[The Magic control works like chakra control yes, for example if you use a spell that need 10 mana you'll need a bare minimum of 834 to cast it.]
"Holy shit!" I accidentally yell. I wince hoping no one heard me, though that was just wishful thinking.
"Nate are you okay? I heard yelling." Said John, my roommate at the private school the orphanage sent me to. I was to old to stay there really, no one wants a 14 year old teen so they gave me a few hundred dollars and sent me here to Yancy Academy.
"Yeah, just remembered today is the weekend and was excited." I said, hoping he'd buy it.
[Ping!]
"Oh yeah, it's Saturday. Well I'ma hang out with some people behind the school. See ya!" He yelled as he left. I sigh and see what that ping was about.

'Theres gonna be a lot of skills aren't there.' I thought with a sigh, I decided to go top to bottom again.
[Skills: Informational:

I don't really care about these right now so I back out and choose Physical.

'Wow, thats kinda sad.' I thought looking at the two skills I have, one of which is 2, 2!
'I really need to train, though it will make me feel a lot more motivated seeing my progress.' I thought, as I closed the tab and choose Magic only to get N/A.
"Tch." I clicked my tongue in annoyance, even if I expected it it doesn't make it any less annoying. I take a breath to calm myself and click Perks. And to my surprise I have a few.

"*Whistle* I'm very glad I have the system, with no mental intrusions no one can know about the system unless I tell them, which will probably never happen.' I thought happy that the system gave me these perks.
"Okay, it's time to test some theories." I said to myself, as I left the room to discover more.
'There ain't no rest for the wicked.' I thought, before focussing on the task at hand.

Boom, so yeah this happened. I'm not dropping my other gamer book, I just thought that a human gamer would be more interesting to write about so I wrote the first chapter to see the result. Whatcha think? Like it? Don't? Leave a review on what you thought. See ya!
