Mason and Remi arrived at the end of the dungeons. Here, every beast they encountered would be level 25 or above.
"I'm confident we won't get hurt in here, but it can't hurt to be careful anyways." Mason exclaimed.
The truth was that Mason underestimated his own power, he didn't know it yet, but he could already kill some people that were way stronger than him. That is of course if he launched a surprise attack.
As they wandered aimlessly through the ends of the dungeon to find some beasts, Mason started to get agitated.
"Where the fuck are all of these beasts, I haven't seen one in ages!"
Remi almost started laughing out loud because of Mason's lack of knowledge in some basic respects.
"Of course we won't find as many beasts here, all of them are higher level which means there's less of them. Their territories are naturally larger as well."
"The easiest way to make one come to you is to start a ruckus, but that's dangerous on its own because there's always unexpected threats lingering inside of dungeons." Remi told him.
Mason pondered. 'Should I take the risk or not? Surely there isn't anything I can't beat here.'
He was right, this was a dungeon where the max level of beasts was 25. It is impossible to find anything higher than that.
The only way for a monster to be stronger than others was if it was mutated.
Mutated beasts were almost as rare as getting a good nights' sleep. He'd never had/seen it.
"I just want to get out of here now to be honest, it's getting very boring being in here doing the exact same thing for a week." Mason said.
Remi nodded in agreement.
'It is a good place to farm system points however.' Mason thought sneakily.
It was the last day they would be inside of the dungeon, and it wouldn't be a very memorable one.
Everything happened just as Mason expected it. He made a ruckus a couple of times and fought some strong beasts, but they were nothing more than a bit of training.
And thus, the week-long expedition in the dungeon would come to an end.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
As Mason and Remi walked back towards the exit, they met a lot of other students who were also on their way back.
Some were smiling, some weren't.
He even saw some people he recognized, but they didn't look back as friendly to him as he did to them.
'I just scolded them a bit, why are they so distant?' Mason whined.
Once outside, the teacher of their class was already awaiting them. They were the last of their class to arrive, which wasn't a surprise because they were the only ones in the deepest end.
"Okay class, now we're all here let's get back to the busses. We shall reveal the scores ones we're back at the school." Teacher John said.
The class headed back to the bus, and they departed back to Lionheart Academy.
"You think we'll be number one in this test?" Mason asked Remi.
Remi didn't even answer him as she knew he was just speaking to speak.
'He knows himself, why should I tell him!' Remi thought.
'Why so distant? Did everyone wake up with a new type of mana disease or something?' Mason joked.
The bus ride to the academy took a while and they finally arrived, nobody said anything to Mason for the entirety of the ride.
"What? Why do we need a way to get rid of Mason White? What's so special about him?" A mysterious person asked.
"He's way stronger than any of you guys, if you want any chance at becoming number one it would be easier to compete against Remi Nightfall instead." A man who seemed to be in his mid-forties answered.
Mason sneezed, not knowing someone was secretly planning some shady stuff that would be a thorn in his side in the not so distant future.
Once they got out of the bus Mason immediately darted towards the dorms, he felt exhausted.
He might've done well hiding it but living on 4 hours of sleep per day for a week is harder than he thought.
He didn't even check his Status, which was new.
Mason would check his Status every moment he didn't have anything to do, it had become a bad habit of his.
Back in the old days it would be his mother nagging him to do something else than just watching television or reading novels the whole day long.
If his mother found out what had happened to her son, who was now addicted to a holographic screen. She would probably get the belt out and go on her own expedition.
It was the next day when Mason woke up, he had slept for about 14 hours.
'I slept for 14 hours!? That's my new record!' Mason was excited.
'Apart from the time I was unconscious of course, but that one doesn't count.'
'Wait... It's the next day. '
"OH SHIT, I'M GOING TO BE LATE FOR CLASS!" Mason yelled as he raced towards the classroom.
Today was an important day for him, he would finally be announced as the strongest student in the year.
His mother would be so proud of him if she heard he was already the strongest student in the year at the best academy in the country.
'I really did it, I'm getting stronger and stronger so fast. Which also means I'll be rich and powerful like I always wanted.' Mason thought as a tear ran down his cheek while running.'
Hello guys, I'm sure none of you expected me to ever come back after two months.
I don't have a valid reason apart from me getting bored of writing a lot but I felt like it again so here I am!
Don't expect too much, but read anyways.
