The Emmot Sisters

"What is that?"

"What the hell!"

The knights exclaimed in astonishment as a purple hole materialized abruptly before Enri.

Suddenly, someone wearing dark knight armor materialized from the Hole.

'The teleportation was a success. It's good that the enemy didn't use teleport-blocking.'

The scene before his eyes was the same as what he had seen earlier. Two terrified girls were in front of him.

The eldest girl sported a straw-blonde braid cascading down to her breasts. Her skin, healthily tanned from working in the sun, was now deathly pale from fear, and her dark eyes were wet with tears.

But she had a different air to her as compared to what Raizel had expected.

'Those eyes.'

He focused on her eyes, which showed her helplessness but also determination.

He shifted his focus from her toward the little girl - the younger girl — buried her face in the elder girl's waist, trembling in fright.

Raizel gazed coldly at the knight standing before the two girls. Perhaps he was shocked by Raizel's sudden appearance. But the knight simply stared at him, having apparently forgotten to swing the sword he was holding.

'Let's get started.'

Raizel pointed his finger toward the knight- the one closest to the girls.

"<Shadow's Embrace>"

The spell he had employed belonged to the 9th-tier. The knight's shadow writhed and contorted before morphing into long, expansive tentacles that emerged from the shadows, enveloping his entire form.

'It's good one of my favorite spells is working. If it didn't work, I was ready to flee- because only level 100 players specialized in holy magic can completely resist the spell. If the knight was a level 100 holy magic caster- the spell wouldn't have even activated.'

Raizel was prepared to carry the two girls and flee the scene. He had already prepared an escape route.

"WHA--!"

It transpired with such swiftness that he had no time to react, and soon, his entire form was covered by the encircling tentacles.

The tentacles started to exert pressure on his body, audible through sounds reminiscent of metal being crushed.

"CRUNCH!"

A sickening sound- akin to bone and metal crushing- reverberated, and the tentacles disappeared into motes of light. The remnants of the knight—reduced to a fleshy pulp and shattered fragments of metal and bones—descended to the ground.

'Hmm, nothing?'

He had hoped that the action of killing a human might trigger something in him, yet he felt nothing.

Raizel observed the scene with an unchanged expression- while the others present wore expressions of terror. Enri, in particular, was so disturbed that she couldn't bear the gruesome sight, leading to her vomiting at the remains of the knight.

The other knights were also not faring well. Evident from the clanking of their armors due to their trembling. Raizel took a step further toward the knights. They saw his advance and took a step back out of fear.

"...So, you dare to chase girls but not someone who can fight back?"

Raizel spoke while contemplating what spell to use next because the last one directly killed the knight; he failed to gauge their strength.

So, for the next spell, he decided to use something that wouldn't directly kill them. This way, he could measure the strength of this world's humans.

"-Since I've come all this way, I will have you help me run some experiments." With a lifted hand, Raizel swept it in a slashing motion directed at one of the knights.

"<Ethereal Blade>"

An ethereal blade of mana traveled toward the knight's neck at supersonic speed. And before he could react, his head was cleaved cleanly from his body. Blood splattered everywhere, and his body limply fell to the ground.

Raizel had been planning to follow up with another spell, but he felt silly as he noted the weakness of the knights.

"Pathetic... he died merely to a 5th-tier spell." Now that he knew the knights were weak enough to be finished off by fifth-tier magic, Raizel's tension vanished in an instant.

Of course, it could be that these two knights were especially weak among their kind, but still, it was a great relief. Nevertheless, the plan to retreat with magic had not changed.

These knights might be focused on offense. In YGGDRASIL, a blow to the neck counted as a critical hit and dealt extra damage, but in the real world, it was fatal.

Rather than easing up, Raizel heightened his guard. It would be too foolish to meet an untimely end due to carelessness. Next, he ought to continue testing his powers.

'Hmm, I haven't tested converting someone to a vampire using my skills yet.'

Raizle thought while looking at the only remaining knight- who was about to turn around and run.

'He would be perfect for it.'

Raizel moved near the remaining knight, and before the latter could turn around and run, Raizel used the Mind Control skill on the knight.

"|Stop right there.|" (A/N: | command | represent Mind Control.)

The moment he uttered the words, a crimson layer enveloped the knight, halting his movements. Raizel leisurely advanced toward him until he stood directly before him.

This is in the way," Raizel spoke while removing the helmet from the knight. After removing it, he threw it away. His face had clear signs of terror.

For some inexplicable reason, Raizel derived satisfaction from witnessing the terror etched across the knight's face. It filled him with utter joy.

"Alrighty then, let's do this," muttering this, he activated the Conversion skill and opened his mouth. From which a small drop of blood floated toward the knight's mouth.

It was a skill that allowed him to change any living creature to that of a vampire. He could convert his target into one of the following variants of vampires:

...

1. Ghoul

2. Cold One

3. Vampire Slave

4. Lesser Vampire

5. Vampire

6. True Vampire

7. Vampire Beast

8. Vampire Lord

...

"|Open your mouth.|"

The knight obediently opened his mouth, and the drop entered it. After a few seconds, the knight's body began to shake, and one could notice the change in his skin tone- which continued to grow pale with time.

After 15 seconds, his conversion was complete. He now had dark red pupils, grey hair, and a deathly pale skin tone. He was now converted to a Vampire Slave. He now had a neutral expression, as opposed to that of fear.

The moment the transformation concluded, the knight promptly knelt, bowing his head in submission before speaking.

"I greet master." His tone was heavy with a dark undertone.

"Tell me about yourself," Raizel commanded while crossing his arms.

"Yes, master," Rovan replied, his voice respectful as he maintained his bowed position. "My name is Rovan, and I hail from the Slane Theocracy. I serve as a member of the army."

"Hmm," Raizel hummed and continued questioning. "What is your purpose in attacking the village?"

"I don't know the complete reason behind the attack. We were given orders to attack and destroy villages— situated on the border between the Re-Estize Kingdom and the Baharuth Empire."

"Hmm," Raizel hummed, thinking about his future moves. 'I need to save the villagers— that way, I can extort information from them. Yet, a lone Slave Vampiric Knight may not suffice against the knights.'

Raizel pivoted on his heel and strode toward the girls. Moments later, another figure emerged from the portal. It was Guu, transformed into a Vampiric Troll by the wooden cross.

He now had red eyes and pale green skin. He still wielded the same sword and had the same clothes, yet his level had soared to 40.

"Rovan, rise and head to the village. Kill the other knights," Raizel commanded, his voice authoritative. "Guu, do likewise but ensure to leave some alive. I intend to conduct investigations and experiments on them."

"Yes, master!" Rovan bellowed out, rose up, and started running toward the village. Guu also followed him.

'I can't believe I gave the command to kill a lot of humans without any remorse. Better yet, I even plan to run some pretty awful experiments on them. But I don't feel weird about it— it almost feels natural.'

He was taken out of his inner monologue by the sight of the wound on the elder girl's back. As he neared them, the girls shrank under Raizel's imposing figure. Currently standing at 6'4'', he exuded a completely different air.

"You seem to be hurt."

Raizel spoke, gesturing toward the conspicuous slash mark on the elder girl's back. He opened his Item Box and took out a small vile containing a red liquid. It was a Minor Healing Potion.

This potion could restore fifty HP, and beginners in Yggdrasil frequently used it. However, Raizel- as he was now had no need for this item at all. This was because this potion healed through positive energy.

To vampires- undead beings- like Raizel, this potion was like a damaging poison. However, not every guild member was undead, so Raizel kept some of these items just in case.

"Drink it. It's a healing potion- it would heal that wound of yours."

Because the girls regarded Raizel as their savior and that he didn't have any monstrous features, they were prone to easily trust him.

The eldest girl's eyes went wide as she gulped the potion down. After that, a look of surprise filled her face.

"No way..."

She touched her back, wiggled her body in disbelief, and patted her back.

"The pain is gone- I suppose."

"Y-Yes, it is..." She nodded— to indicate that it did not hurt anymore.

'It appears the healing potion is doing its job. That's reassuring. Now, it's time for introductions, but first, I should pose a couple of questions.'

"What is your name."

Raizel asked in a regal tone.

"M-My name is Enri Emmot, and this is my sister..."

"Nemu, my name is Nemu."

Both the sisters introduced themselves, and Raizel nodded.

'Sisters, huh.'

"Then, Enri Emmot, do you know about magic."

It was crucial to inquire about this. Until now, Raizel had encountered monsters, but none had displayed the ability to wield magic or employ other sophisticated skills— as they did in Yggdrasil. Additionally, the knights had shown no inclination towards magic or magical items.

'Is this possible— that there are no Players in this world, and I am the only one here? Surely not, but still...'

He was taken out of his contemplation by Enri's answer.

"Yes, yes, I do. The alchemist who comes by our village... my friend, knows how to use magic."

'An alchemist!'

Raizel's eyes went wide under the helmet.

'So magic does exist in this world. But an alchemist. If I can kidnap them, I could use them for the production of new scrolls.'

"Is that so. Well, that makes things easy to explain. I am a magic caster."

"Thank you for saving us!"

"Yes, thank you."

Both sisters prostrated themselves before him, and this filled him with joy.

Clearing his throat, he replied to them.

"There is no need to thank me. Now, I must be going."

Saying this, he turned around and began walking toward the village.

"Pl-please wait. This might be thick-skinned of us to ask you this, but please help our parents. You are the only one who we can count on!" Enri shouted while tears streamed down her cheeks.

"No need to worry— I intend to save the village. Now, come along, or do you want to become monster food."

Hearing his reply, both the sisters got up and started running toward Raizel. Once they were close enough, Enri asked him a question.

"Can you tell us your name? We would like to know the name of our savior?"
