Chapter 111
Cam had called her sister earlier that morning. Lori was very relieved that Cam called. The tension between them seemed to have faded as the conversation went along and they were laughing like they used to by the end of the call. Lori pressed her repeatedly to make sure she was all right and assured her that everyone there was fine. She made Cam promise to come home as soon as her parole officer allowed her to travel outside of Maryland. There was no mention of the envelope still tucked away in the safe. But although it felt like their relationship was back on track, Cam could tell that Lori still didn’t believe the whole prison story. At least they were talking again.
