Chapter 5 : Against Kaido!!

Not long after lunch, Ian had just woken up from a nap and was about to head to his workout when Kaido's thunderous roar echoed from above, shaking the entire Onigashima.

"Ian, Daddy's calling us!"

Heavy footsteps approached quickly. The door to the room was yanked open, and Yamato's adorable face peeked in, dragging a long mace behind her.

"Got it," Ian responded with a wistful tone. "Let's go."

Whenever Kaido called from the top of the skull, it was always for one thing.

Ian and Yamato made their way to the terrace on the top floor of the main building. As the brilliant golden light illuminated the area, Ian transformed into a massive Golden Dragon.

"Ian!"

Yamato gazed at Ian, who was soaring into the sky with his wings spread wide. "You look so cool!"

"Come on."

Ian extended his clawed hand towards Yamato.

Yamato leaped with excitement, her small body landing effortlessly in Ian's palm.

Ian then unfurled his wings and soared out of the terrace, rising above the skeleton's eyes before turning to fly towards the top of the skull.

Ian's flight was swift, and in less than half a minute, he reached the top of Onigashima, landing in the central area of the skull's crown.

Kaido was seated cross-legged on the ground, sipping from his cup and waiting for Ian and Yamato to arrive. As he saw Ian descending with his wings flapping, he took a swig from his cup and staggered to his feet.

"Ah, there you are! Ready to begin?"

"Do we have a choice?" Ian thought to himself.

"Yamato!"

Yamato hopped off Ian's hand, confidently brandishing her mace. "I've gotten stronger!"

"Excellent! Come at me just like before. Attack me before I finish my drink!"

Kaido beckoned them with a grin, "Show me your determination!"

"Kill you? That's not something I could ever do," Ian said, a hint of a smirk on his lips.

He opened his mouth wide.

"Blaze Cannon!!"

The roaring flames burst forth, transforming into a breath of destruction.

The Roar of the Winged Dragon—No, the Blaze Cannon!

In an instant, a pillar of fire engulfed Kaido.

Rumble!!

At the top of the skeleton, a massive explosion erupted. Brilliant flames shot up dozens of meters, and the intense heat made the air inside the dome waver.

"You little brat! Are you trying to evaporate all of my wine?!"

From within the raging flames came Kaido's furious roar.

His roar transformed into a fierce wind, dispersing the flames.

He didn't bother to defend himself at all, but his wine gourd was protected by his Armament Haki.

"I'm coming!"

Yamato dashed forward like a gust of wind, swinging her mace as she leaped into the air. With a mighty swing, she shouted, "Thunder Bagua!"

Inherited from her father, her mace, studded with sharp iron spikes, was aimed directly at Kai's face.

However, Kaido remained unmoved, and Yamato was sent flying backward.

"Are you tickling me, Yamato?"

Kaido sneered while sipping his drink. "Do you dare to claim you can surpass me?"

"How dare you look down on me, Father!"

Yamato yelled in frustration. "I'm going to beat you!"

"If you can, then come at me!"

Kaido was unimpressed.

Yamato continued her charge.

It must be said that Yamato was on a completely different level compared to an average five-year-old child.

Speed, strength, agility, and even techniques are far beyond those of typical adults. Many of the grassroots pirates within the Beast Pirates would struggle against her.

But unfortunately for Yamato, Kaido was the one standing before her. All her attacks barely caused him to flinch, making her efforts seem more like a child testing their parent's patience than a serious battle.

Kaido looked up at Ian, who was floating in the sky. "What are you waiting for?"

Ian took a deep breath.

The enormous Golden Dragon landed on the ground, rapidly shrinking in size.

In the blink of an eye, Ian transformed into a golden humanoid form.

Human-Beast Mode!

Much like the beast form, his entire body glowed with a golden sheen, giving the impression that he was forged from gold. It had a strong metallic aura, resembling golden armor.

His overall appearance was quite slender. His lower limbs featured an anti-joint structure, and his feet were clawed—sharp and slender, like blades.

His arms were not particularly muscular but had sharp claws. Wing-like decorations adorned his elbows, and his shoulders were covered with raised armor.

A golden ring stretched from shoulder to shoulder behind his head, resembling Enel's thunder drum, engraved with intricate patterns. The ring extended downwards, and the golden wings behind him spread out as if they could cover the sky.

Notably, unlike Kaido's Dragon-like face, Ian's face was a seamless blend of human and Winged Dragon features. His nose and mouth were pronounced and golden, with bright red eyes. The eyelids had lines extending backward, and a blue gem was set into his forehead, giving him a majestic and imposing presence.

Ian clenched his fists.

At this moment, the power surging through his body seemed capable of shaking the very heavens!

The Golden Dragon form didn't grant any special abilities beyond flame manipulation but significantly enhanced his fundamental capabilities.

The increase far surpassed that of ordinary mythical zoan fruits.

In addition to heightened defense, Ian's strength, speed, and reflexes were all boosted to extraordinary levels.

If Ian, without using his abilities, was merely a very talented child, then at this moment, he possessed the power to compete with natural monsters like Kaido or Charlotte Linlin of the same age.

"Oh! Ian!"

Yamato stopped her attack and gazed at Ian with wide, admiring eyes. "You're super handsome!"

"Handsome?" Teacher Kaido scoffed disdainfully.

At that moment, flames erupted beneath Ian's feet. With a powerful flap of his wings, he transformed into a golden streak, instantly soaring in front of Kaido. His right fist struck Kaido's stomach with the force of a meteor.

When Ian's fist made contact, flames erupted, engulfing Kaido's entire body in a blaze of golden fire.

Here it comes.

The Iron Fist of the Winged Dragon!

The reason Teacher Kaido is known as such is due to the nature of these lessons—intense training sessions rather than mere lectures.

The schedule for these lessons is unpredictable. Whenever Teacher Kaido feels inclined, he summons Ian and Yamato to the top of the skeleton for a rigorous workout, usually once a week, sometimes even two or three times.

But this class isn't a mere exercise in punishment. It's about more than just using Teacher Kaido as a punching bag.

The combination of Ian's powerful blows and the searing flames caused a violent explosion in Kaido's stomach. Even Kaido, unprepared and not actively resisting, staggered back two steps.

Ian seized the moment to press his advantage. Flames burst from his feet, back, elbows, and key joints, using the reaction force to enhance his speed and power.

Empowered by the flames, he moved with astonishing speed, rapidly closing in on Kaido. A barrage of punches and kicks targeted Kaido's chest.

With his feet encased in flames, Ian delivered a fierce kick to Kaido's chest—the Winged Dragon's Hook!

The flames surged beneath him as he executed a rocket-like hammer strike to Kaido's stomach—the Winged Dragon's Sword Horn!

Spinning with his wings ablaze, Ian slashed at Kaido's neck with a cutting motion—the Winged Dragon's Wing Strike!

With his right arm bent and flames erupting behind him, Ian delivered a powerful elbow strike to Kaido's face. The impact sent Kaido staggering, and the winged dragon's elbow struck with unrelenting force!

Ian leaped back, raising his arms high as golden flames began to coalesce in his palms. The flames quickly expanded into a massive fireball, several times larger than him.

"Gaia Energy—No, it's the Brilliant Flame of the Winged Dragon!"

The enormous fireball hurtled towards Kaido-sensei, and once again, a tremendous explosion erupted from the top of the Onigashima.

"Wow!"

A wave of intense heat surged, causing Yamato's hair to whip around wildly. She was thrown backwards repeatedly by the force of the blast. "Ian! That's incredibly powerful!"

"Whew—"

Ian let out a sigh of relief.

"Damned brat!"

Amidst the flames, Kaido's clothes were singed and tattered, his hair and face blackened. Stepping out of the inferno, Kaido exclaimed, "The temperature of the flames is far higher than before! Even my wine is evaporating!"
