The Devil

The marine base was bustling with activity as usual. Patrolling officers lounged around due to the absence of any intruders, as very few dared to trespass into marine property. Two marines conversed lazily.

"I don't know who's unlucky today, but Helmeppo went out with a group a while ago," remarked the first marine.

"Yeah, whoever they are, they'll have a bad day. Sometimes I feel like a pawn instead of a marine," lamented the other.

"Don't say those things aloud. If Captain Morgan hears, he'll have your head," warned the first.

Their discussion was interrupted when two people approached the gates.

"Excuse me, is the captain in the base?" Kai inquired politely.

Startled, the guards regained composure and confirmed the captain's likely presence in his office.

"Thank you. Could you please open the gates? We have business with the captain," Kai requested with a smile.

Though puzzled, the guards opened the gates, underestimating the two boys. Kai's convincing demeanor led them in, while Luffy observed in astonishment.

"Wow, that was amazing. You just asked, and they let us in," remarked Luffy.

Kai smiled and the duo entered the base casually, occasionally exchanging pleasantries with patrolling officers. As they navigated the base, Kai spotted a familiar figure—a girl with orange hair, clearly upset.

Kai recalled Nami's failed attempt to steal navigation charts here before, so he approached her. "Hi miss, could you tell us where the captain's office is?"

Startled, the girl pointed in the direction and hurried away. Following her directions, they reached a door labeled 'Captain's Office,' but it was locked. Luffy prepared to smash it open, but Kai stopped him.

"You could simply unlock it with your powers," Kai suggested.

Luffy, enlightened, unlocked the door, revealing four swords and a wooden chest inside. Kai decided to take the chest, and as they prepared to leave, Captain Morgan appeared, accusing them of stealing his keys.

"We're not thieves; we're pirates," interjected Luffy proudly, much to Kai's chagrin.

Morgan mocked them, calling them dirty little pirates. Kai, sighing at Luffy's antics, stepped forward calmly.

"We didn't steal from the marines but from a corrupt individual. And we're not weak," Kai stated firmly, his aura heating up.

Morgan, sensing danger, attempted to step back, but Kai grabbed him. Blue flames engulfed Kai's hand and spread to Morgan.

"I've never used this on anyone before, so I hope you enjoy what's coming," Kai said ominously, making Morgan feel like he was hearing the wispers of the devildevil loving him in shock.

As the flames spread over Morgan's body, be braced for the searing pain of burning alive, but to his surprise, the flames didn't harm him physically. However, a different kind of torment awaited him-mental anguish. With each passing moment, Morgan experienced a visceral understanding of all the wrongs he had committed. The true horrors of his actions consumed his mind, and his sanity began to crumble, reflected in bis escalating screams.

The loud cries from the captain's office drew the attention of nearby marines, who rushed in with weapons, witnessing a scene that would haunt them. Captain Morgan, once a feared figure, now writhed in agony before a young man surrounded by blue flames, seemingly controlling the inferno. Strangely, Morgan remained unburned despite his torment.

Some of Morgan's loyal subordinates moved to aid him, but Kai, unfazed, turned to Luffy and casually remarked, "If you want, they're all yours." Excited, Luffy dropped the swords and dove into the fray, swiftly dispatching the marines who attempted to rescue Morgan.

Kai, meanwhile, focused on the marines. "Who's in charge here after these fools?" he demanded. After a moment, a marine stepped forward. "I want all evidence related to Captain Morgan's crimes," Kai commanded, his fiery presence intimidating. "Don't hide anything. It'll be worse for you if you do."

The marines felt like they were facing a living nightmare. They knew Kai's threat was real, earning him a reputation as a "devil" in their eyes.

As time passed, Morgan lost consciousness, driven mad by his ordeal, while Luffy dealt with the remaining loyalists. Kai and Luffy waited in Morgan's office until the marines returned with a stack of papers, which Kai briefly scanned before tucking into his coat.

Leaving the chaos behind, Kai and Luffy headed back to their crewmates. Before exiting the marine base, Kai paused, turning to the marines watching them with fear. "You'll report this truthfully to your superiors," he stated firmly. "Remember my name, Phoenix D. Kai."

Following Kai's lead, Luffy added, "I am Monkey D. Luffy, the future Pirate King. And We're friends and captains of different crews, so tell them that when they put a bounty on us."

With that, they departed, leaving the marines to contemplate the events that unfolded under the command of these new and formidable pirates. They could only imagine the horrors they would unleash in the coming times.
