'Where am I?'

After waking up, James looked around and he couldn't recognize anything around him, he was about to panic, thankfully he remembered that he wasn't on earth anymore and he started recalling what happened before he passed out.

'What a day'

James couldn't help but think, from dying, to being sent to another world and ending the day with a huge fight.

Getting up, James started looking at his surroundings more, he was currently in a small room, it had a single bed and a nightstand, on the nightstand James could see a note.

'A note?'

Picking up the note, James started reading it.

-If you read this, it means you have woken up, you're currently in an inn called the Morningstar inn, you do not have to worry about paying, the room was payed for you for a day, as for your injuries, we have fed you a healing pill, the pill and the room are free of charge, take it as goodwill from us, we hope to see you at your best in the finals.

PS- You need to arrive at the arena by 16:00 or it will be counted as forfeit.

James was surprised.

'A room is fine at all, but aren't healing pills usually extremely expensive?'

James wondered, from all the fictions he remembers, stuff like healing pills and potions are normally very expensive, especially if it can heal the kind of injuries he got during his fight with Bao.

'What time is it?'

James wondered, he really couldn't tell, he could see the sun outside, he was a bit worried that he will be later to the finals after all of this. Thankfully, he had a savor.

[The time is 14:56]

'That's a relief, thanks'

He was a bit surprised that the system can tell him the time, but with everything it can do, he wasn't surprised for long.

'Also, how the fuck do they know the time so well? Is there some clock or something in this world?'

'Mana stones? Are we in a magic fantasy now?'

James was expecting something like that, but he really wasn't expecting a mana stone, he was sure this was a cultivation world, even the system said so, so why were there mana stones?

[In this world, there are all kinds of energies, and one of the biggest ones are mana, however, mana is something that only one thing in this world can use. Monsters, monsters have the natural ability to absorb and control mana, from creating wind to fire and so on, some can even control space and time to a degree.

When a monster reaches the age of 3, it has absorbed so much mana that its heart crystalizes into a mana core or another name for it, mana stone.

Depending on the age of the monster or the bloodline, the mana stone's level goes up, 3 to 10 years old is the lowest level of course, they are really weak and are normally used by people as batteries, for example clocks, they use mana crystals to operate, there is a profession in this world called the mana engineers, they are inventers who invent new ways to use mana stones, of course, they are looked down upon in most of the world, but they thrive in the phoenix kingdom.

The clock is one of their inventions, they have other things they have invented, most of them are to help and make the lives of the citizens easier and better.

But while mana engineers normally try making inventions to help advance civilization in a way that helps and makes lives better, there are other ways to use it, which is using them in weapons, there are different ways, but the most common is imbuing magical properties on weapons, trying to make weapons more dangerous by adding magical effects from fire to lightning and so on.

There are others, but I will leave it here for now.]

James found it all interesting and he was curious what invention they made, James is from earth after all, and technology is a huge part of earth's civilization, so he wondered how this world compares, of course, so far from everything he has seen, this world seems to be far behind, he will look into it in the future.

'Anyway, let's check my status'

[No host, the reason it went up so much is because you have unlocked the conditions to conqueror's haki, although host is a genus when it comes to spirit and body cultivation, the level ups aren't from cultivation.]

'How high will it go up when I unlock it?'

[I cannot say, however, it should satisfy host, though, I must warm host to start training as soon as the tournament ends, host picked the attention of some people in this tournament and I'm sure not all are in goodwill, although the conqueror's power ups are high, you only have one condition left before unlocking it and when you do those easy power ups will stop]

James nodded seriously, it was probably because he unlocked observation haki or maybe it was just his senses being on full alert in the fight, but before he passed out he could feel some malice being directed at him.

After that James checked all the messages he got before passing out again and after going over it all, it was time to check the trials, so far all he could see in the trials window is just black squares, he was sure there was something on them but he just couldn't see what it was, but now when he opened it.

'There is stuff… WTF?!'

He at first was excited, but after going over it he felt like ripping all his hair off, he felt scammed.

'HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO WIN THIS?!'

James felt like he was being teased, he can't see himself winning any of them for a long time, all the happiness and hope he had from unlocking the trials now felt like a waste of emotions.

'Also, why does Enel give range increase? Wasn't it the fruit?'

After a few minutes of crying tears of blood, James calmed down and asked something he was wondering about.

[It is the fruit, however, Host's haki is a bit different from one piece's haki, while they have many factors to levels and upgrading their haki, host's haki is upgraded through achievements and trials.

For example, you unlocked observation at 15 spirit, you unlocked it through an achievement otherwise you wouldn't have gotten it even with 15 spirit, the only way to give you those things is through an achievement and completing a trial is just another achievement.

Even with the host possessing a body and soul from one piece, it doesn't change the fact that this world is different and spirits and other things don't work the same as they do in the world of one piece, so to get past this, my creator made a sort of exchange system, a system where you make an achievement and then exchange that achievement for something of the same level, sort of deal, so by defeating Enel, you exchange that achievement for Bigger observation range, it could be other things like being a shop where you buy whatever you want, but my creator thought making it like that would be more interesting and it would make it cheaper than if you exchange it for whatever you want]

James just nodded but he was still stuck in thought.

'If that is the case, how do devil fruits work?'

[Same deal, you exchange beli to it, beli comes from achievements, they aren't on the level of the achievements system or trials system, so they are smaller in amount, that is why a gold coin is worth 10 beli and you need 1 million to get a fruit, achieving 100,000 gold coins from nothing is an achievement, but doing it again is not at the same level, that is why the price keeps going up, and beating opponents that the system deems challenging to you is also an achievement and the reason you get beli from bounties

And making the fruit getting a chance based thing, makes it cheaper, if you wanted to exchange for let's say, the Gura Gura no Mi, the price would be astronomical, both because of how powerful it is but also because of the achievements connected to it, but by making it a chance game, the price goes down by a lot since you have a high chance of getting a fruit worth a lot less since it is weak and the achievements connected to it are small]

James learned more about the system and how it works, he wanted to ask more questions, but the finals is starting soon, so he needed to get ready.

I know I said that there will be a fight this time around, but there was none, so I will give you a teaser.
