Don Craig, The Start of a Legend.

--Sometime then next day--

"Oi Luffy, any luck recruiting him?" Sparrow asks while leaning back on a chair his feet on the table.

Luffy shakes his head, "Not yet. The darned cook seems intent on staying here. Don't worry, he'll give in soon enough shishishishishi."

"He's here!"

"That hourglass skull! It's Don Krieg!"

With that announcement from one of the customers, the room bursts into loud rambling as everyone panics and attempts to run to their ships to flee.

Sparrow turns to Luffy, "Oi, Luffy, who's this Kreigh fellow. I was over here talking to miss Nami so I think I might have missed it."

Luffy then tilts his chair back, "Oh, he's like the strongest in the East Blue or something. He's got a like 50 Brigantine ship fleet. Shishishi."

Hearing this, Sparrow smiles as he leans back further in the chair, "Strongest in the East Blue eh? Luffy, if he starts a fight, he's mine got it?"

Luffy nods, "Sure sure."

Outside of the Baratie, two massive Galleon class ships ride the water and pull up to the deck of the Baratie.

Luffy then stands up and walks over to Sanji who is now standing at the front of the ship watching the gallions approach. After a moment of thought, Sparrow dose the same.

Luffy then asks, "OOO, I wonder if Ghin came to repay your kindness."

Sanji shakes his head, "I doubt it. But it is strange."

Luffy then realizes, "Oi, that ship is really beaten up."

"It doesn't look like they were attacked by canon's, but then again it's hard to believe that something could make that kind of damage."

After a few moments, the rattling of chains a deep thudding of large footsteps could be heard.

"He's here." One of the chefs mutters in fear.

The shadow of a large well built man slowly appears on the other side of the window. Thump. Thump. Thump.

His footsteps slowly grow closer and closer until finally, the doors burst open. There, standing in the doorway, is a massive muscular man, with purple-gray hair and distinct sideburns. His hair is clipped short, and a thick layer of gauze wrapped around his scalp from some sort of injury.

Supporting him by draping the man's arm over his shoulders, is the pirate whom Sanji had fed after being thrown out the day before. Ghin.

"S-sorry. Can I have some water and food please? We have money.... Tons of money..... I don't even remember the last time I ate. Please give me some water... and food..."

One of the chefs hiding behind Patty on the stairwell that leads to the kitchen asks, "W-what is that?"

Patty then replies in shock, "He shows neither dignity nor force. Is he really that Don Krieg? Commodore of the Grand Pirate Fleet?"

Luffy, tilts his head to the side in interest, "So your hungry?"

Sanji, simply remains silent before heading up into the kitchen just like he had done the day before.

As he does so, Krieg, unable to stand upright any longer, collapses to the ground. "C-captain!" Shin shouts as he tries to help him up but to no avail.

Shin then looks up desperately, "P-please help our captain! We have money! We're customers this time!"

Patty then starts laughing, "Oh thats good! It's a real riot to see the famous rouge Don Krieg like this! DOn't be ridiculous. We won't feed a monster like him."

Patty then turns to one of the cooks, "Oi, go contact the navy. This is a prime opportunity to take down Krieg. He is weak and defenseless right now. There is no need to feed him anything."

Another cook shouts, "That's right! We don't know what he'll do once he can move! He's done terrible things!"

The crowd of customers who are all gathered in the back left corner all murmur in agreement.

The cook then continues, "He deserves to starve for all the terrible things he's done! Once he's back to normal I'm sure he'll attack this restaurant right away. We won't give him even a single glass of water."

"I won't. I won't do anything. Please feed me." The man begs as he raises his head. Just as he finishes his sentence, Sanji returns from the kitchen and walks past all the other cooks. He then sets his plate in front of Krieg.

"Eat up." Sanji states as he stands up and watches as the Don digs into the food.

One of the nearby chefs shouts, "Sanji! Take that food away from him now? If you don't we'll all be killed! Do you realize what kind of man he is? He's the man who is called the Ruler of the East Blue. The fowl player! He will lie, cheat, and betray all thos around him to ensure that he stays on top!"

Luffy then chuckles, "Shishishi, so he plays dirty then."

Just as Luffy finishes his sentence, Don Krieg bursts up fully restored and swings his arm in a lariat towards Sanji's neck. "Thank you for the food ya damned cook!"

Sanji's eyes widen in surprise as the attack is about to strike him.

*Clanggggg*

Suddenly, standing in front of Sanji, is Sparrow, who pulled the sheath half way up to his chest sword half drawn and blocking the arm swing. Krieg looks down at the boy blocking his swing arrogantly.

The boy then looks up at him dead serious. "Oi, the f#ck are you doing you ba#stard. Attacking the one that feeds you. Do you have no shame?"

"Shame? I'm a pirate! I betray and backstab at every opportunity! That's the way of pirates! And now, I plan to take this ship." Don Krieg snarls.

Sparrow then glares at him, "No. That's the way of cowards and the weak. Us pirate, have a code. We honor our words."

Behind the two, Sanji then asks, "Why'd you protect me?"

I then turn to him and smile, "I can't very well let my friend's crewmate get flattened now can I? Besides, he.... Really pisses me off."

Ghin then looks up at Don Krieg, "Captain! This isn't what you promised! You swore that if I took you here you would eat and then leave peacefully!"

Don krieg ignores him before lowering his arm and turning to the cooks, "I've got 100 men on my ship that are starving to death. Prepare 100 meals and some water for them. Then abandon this ship. I will be taking control of it."

Sanji simply nods before turning around and heading back into the kitchen. As he is about to walk past, all the cooks draw their knives and point them towards him. "Sanji! Halt!"

However, before they can do anything, they all get knocked to the ground. Looking up at their attacker, they are shocked to see it's the straw hat customer from earlier.

Luffy looks at then in annoyance, "Oi. Don't point your knives at my crew member got it?"

The cooks all just snarl as Sanji continues into the kitchen. However, before he can even make it half way, the owner comes out of the kitchen.

The owner is an elderly-looking man who has blonde-colored hair, which he keeps underneath his extra-long chef's hat. His mustache is considerably long and he has a beard. He is wearing his chefs uniform, with a blue ascot, and white apron.

He is holding a large bag full of food. He then stands in front of Krieg and slams it down. "This bag contains around 100 meals worth of food. Take it to your crew."

Krieg looks up and down at Zeff before nodding, "I'll deal with you all later. All I'm after is the ship, if you all leave I'll spare you your lives."

Sparrow then lowers his sword back into his haramaki and fully sheaths the half drown blade, "Get back to your ship. I'll be here waiting for you to come back ya bastard. After all, if I plan to become the strongest then I'll have to defeat you."

Krieg scowls, but in the end remains silent before turning and leaving returning to his ship. Just as he leaves he states, "It may be a bother, but if any of you are still here I will send you to Davy Jones."

After he leaves, Ghin who is still kneeling on the floor states, "I'm sorry sanji. It wasn't supposed to happen like this. He was supposed to leave peacefully."

The owner then states, "That's not something you should apologize for underling. Each cook in this restaurant acted as they saw fit. That's all."

Patty, enraged by this shouts, "Owner Zeff, are you taking Sanji's side? He's the whole reason we're in this mess."

Another cook shouts while pointing to Sanji, "Yah, he's going to put your precious restaurant out of business!"

Zeff then loses it and in anger shouts, "Shut it you fools! Have you ever felt what it's like to be on the brink of starvation? Losing food and water on this grand ocean. Do you know how terrifying that is? How difficult it is?"

Patty, shocked by this outburst asks while leaning forward in shock, "What? What do you mean owner Zeff? Why would that matter?"

"The difference between Sanji and you all is whether you know that fear and that pain, or not." Zeff explains.

The cooks all look to each other confused, "What do you mean?"

"What does Sanji know?"

"What's he talking about?"

Zeff then snarls, "If you have time to grumble, then hurry and leave the restaurant through the back door already. Don Krieg will be back soon."

Patty however grips his massive war fork and declares, "No. I'll stay. I'll feel pathetic if I turn and run without even fighting back."

The other chefs all raise their battle silverware and shout, "Hell yah! We're fighting cooks! We're not gonna let some lousy pirates pirates scare us off!"

Seeing this Ghin shouts, "What are you doing? Do you not know how powerful Don is? He will slaughter all of you!"

Sanji then lights his cigarette before replying, "Hey Ghin. Feeding someone who is hungry is my morality, but, those we'll be fighting will have full bellies."

Sanji the using his leg flips a fallen table back upright and sits on table before continuing, "I won't let you complain even after I beat the crap out of your fellow pirates. Got that?

If someone's going to take over this restaurant, then I'll kill them. Even if it's you. Got that?"

Patty then bursts out laughing while Ghin swallows in fear. "Sanji, first you save him now you're killing him? You truly are hopeless."

Sanji then growls, "Shut up ya damned cook."

At this point Luffy points to Sanji and states, "See! He's kinda cool isn't he?"

Usopp then shouts while squatting down and peering his head between the bars on the stair well, "Oi! Who cares about him! We better get out of here now!"

Zoro then sighs, "Calm down, even if it's krieg, he's a wreck with his injuries."

Luffy, then turns to Ghin, "Oi Ghin, you said you don't know anything about the grand line even though you've been there?"

Ghin then places his head in his hands while shaking his head, "It's still true that I don't know. What happened on the seventh day we entered the grand line. I still don't know if it was a dream or reality.

I still haven't been able to com to terms with it. I still just can't believe it. That 50 ship fleet, all utterly annihilated by a single man." This causes a gasp to come from nearly everyone in the room. The only one who didn't make an audible noise is Zoro and Sparrow.

While Sparrow knows more so about it than Zoro, they both know of the terrifying people who exist in this world. So powerful that they can destroy entire islands.

Shin then continues, "It happened so suddenly. As soon as this man appeared, he sank the ships one after another. If we hadn't been lucky enough to have had a storm just then, our main ship would have been completely destroyed as well.

I don't know how many ships we have left, but it was just so dreadful that I almost refuse to accept it. Sharp hawk like eyes who's glare alone gave one the chill of death."

Hearing this Zoro gasps and leans forward listening to every word. Zeff then explains, "That must have been Hawk eye, Mihawk. The fact that you felt his eye was like a hawks isn't proof in itself, but what this man did is enough proof that it was him."

I then nod, "It certainly sounds like him. I wonder what he's doing in the grand line though?"

Zoro however then shouts, "Hawk eye!?"

Luffy, then turns to the stairwell and asks, "Oi, you know him zoro?"

Zoro then takes a deep breath before relaxing, "Yah. he's the man I set out to sea to look for."

Luffy nods, "I see."

Sanji then asks Ghin, "Is it possible that this man had some sort of grudge with you?"

However before Ghin cn respond, Sparrow shakes his head before replying, "Not possible. Mihawk must have been bored. It is utterly impossible for small fry like them to do something that could cause a grudge."

Zoro then glances over to me, "You sound like you know quite a bit about him."

Sparrow nods before replying, "Well, I think I should, after all he was my fathers greatest rival and my Godfather."

This bombshell causes everyone to go silent. "What did you say?" Zeff asks in shock. "How could I have missed it? You two look almost identical. You couldn't be.... The son of Red Haired Shanks now could you?"

Sparrow simply nods, "That's right."

The Straw hats all simply shake their heads as they have grown somewhat used to this.

Usopp then turns to Luffy, "Oi Luffy, let's not go to a place like that! It'll be too dangerous!"

Luffy however has a massive grin and is shaking in excitement, "Ahhh! It sounds so exciting!"

Zoro then smirks, "So that makes my new target, the grand line. That man, I can see that man if I go there."

Sanji then scoffs, "Are you guys stupid or what? Guys like you die before anyone else."

"Yah, but you didn't have to call us stupid. When I decided to become the strongest swordsman, I decided to devote my life to it. Since it was my decision the only one who can call it stupid is me." Zoro states calmly.

Luffy nods, "Same for me."

Sparrow also nods, "For me as well."

"What nonsense." Sanji growls.

Suddenly, the Baratie shakes and rocks as massive waves crash against the side of it. Everyone stumbles and trips all over from the shaking.

"What the hell was that!" Zoro shouts.

Sanji's mouth however drops open as he state's, that Gallion. It was just cut in half..."

Sparrow then chuckles as he pulls himself to his feet, "It's him. Zoro, now's your chance."

Zoro then nods as he stares out at a light green light that is glowing in the dust from the destruction of the galleon growing closer. He then jumps off the stares and races outside.

Once he is on the deck of the ship he takes a deep breath before exhaling and shouting "So, you're finally here, MIHAWK!!!!"
