Roja raised Ryūjin Jakka high, the embodiment of the pinnacle of swordsmanship manifesting in his stance. Without any unnecessary movements, he swung the Zefaanpakutō down gently.
One decisive slash.
A gale rose in its wake.
The blade sliced through the air, the cutting sound sharp and resonant. Flames distorted the very atmosphere as they devoured the surrounding heat.
In that moment, the world changed.
The fiery clouds dominating the sky were consumed entirely by the overwhelming slash. Wherever it passed, even Akainu's giant lava fists disintegrated, becoming fuel for the flames.
Chi-chi-chi—
The slash cut across the sea, evaporating vast amounts of water. Its crescent-shaped trajectory burned brightly, surging towards Akainu.
The sheer brilliance of the attack left everyone frozen in shock.
The naval soldiers on the ships stared, their bodies paralyzed under the residual pressure of the attack. If this was just the aftermath, they could only imagine the force Akainu was facing.
Akainu felt it directly—every cell in his body seemed to be suppressed. Watching his once-imposing lava fists be devoured by Roja's flames, his heart sank completely.
He couldn't win.
He wasn't a match for Roja.
Despair gripped him. If he could start over, he'd push himself harder, train more ruthlessly. But he wouldn't get another chance.
Boom!
The slash struck Akainu directly.
Even with the powers of the Magma-Magma Fruit, he couldn't neutralize the terrifying heat. The attack overwhelmed his Devil Fruit abilities as if they were being suppressed by a superior force.
Akainu felt his strength drain away, his resilience crumbling.
Whoosh!
The impact's shockwave and the roaring winds churned the ocean, raising a massive tsunami.
"Turn the rudder! Full power! Avoid the tsunami!"
"But what about Vice Admiral Akainu?"
"What about him? He ignored orders, charged in recklessly, and now we're dealing with this disaster. Focus on surviving!"
The chaos on the sea continued as the navy ships scrambled to escape the cataclysm.
Above O'Hara.
Roja stood amidst the aftermath, his cloak billowing in the winds of his own making. Slowly, he sheathed Ryūjin Jakka and spoke, his voice low but resonant:
"Reduce the world to ashes."
As the words left his lips, the lingering flames from his slash transformed. They coalesced into a massive fireball, a burning sphere of destruction that loomed above the tsunami and the retreating naval ships.
Tens of thousands of tons of seawater evaporated instantly under the fireball's intense heat.
And then, silence.
The flames eventually dissipated, leaving nothing behind but a charred, empty sea.
Robin and Olvia, watching from O'Hara, stood in stunned silence. The sheer scale of Roja's power was beyond anything they could have imagined.
"Brother Roja, you're so strong!" Robin exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "I'll become as strong as you someday!"
Roja chuckled lightly, gazing at Robin. "You're growing quickly, Robin. In just a few days, I've seen glimpses of your future potential."
He continued, "Remember the flaming clouds from before? That's a form of Devil Fruit awakening. Once you master that, the world will open up to you. On the Grand Line, even in the New World, you'll stand among the strongest!"
Robin nodded earnestly. "I'll work hard! I'll awaken my Devil Fruit powers as soon as possible!"
Satisfied, Roja turned to Olvia. "Weevil is under your command now. If danger arises, have him protect you, but make sure he stays disguised under his cloak."
"I understand, Roja," Olvia replied. "Are you leaving now?"
"Yes. Time is short. I'll find you again when I can, or you can seek me out on the sea."
Robin's determination shone through as she declared, "I'll awaken my powers and find you, Brother Roja!"
With a parting smile, Roja activated his abilities and flew in the direction of Marineford.
After a day of travel, Roja landed on an island, purchasing a small boat to continue his journey. As he approached the shore, he was surprised to find none other than Akainu lying unconscious on the beach.
Burns covered Akainu's body, and parts of his flesh had begun to fester. His usually commanding presence was reduced to a pale, battered shell. Blood seeped from his wounds, but somehow, he clung to life.
Squatting beside Akainu, Roja examined his injuries with practiced precision.
"Akainu, Akainu... Should I save you or not?"
Roja pondered for a while, eventually sitting cross-legged on the sand. Akainu wasn't going to die immediately, so he let himself drift into thought—and accidentally fell asleep.
When he woke up, Roja stretched leisurely, a sly smile on his face.
"Akainu, I hope you won't regret this in the future," he muttered, chuckling as he dragged the injured vice admiral onto his newly purchased boat.
Though he used his peak medical skills to stabilize Akainu, Roja's treatment was far from gentle. Each step of the healing process was paired with a sharp kick or punch to sensitive pressure points.
Akainu jolted awake with a violent cough, spitting out blackened blood. Slowly, he opened his eyes to see Roja standing before him.
"Roja... you're alive," Akainu rasped. "Did you save me?"
"Who else?" Roja replied with a grin. "Though I must say, surviving injuries this severe is impressive. You're tougher than I thought."
Akainu managed a faint look of gratitude. "Thank you... for saving me."
Roja smirked inwardly, knowing Akainu had no idea who was responsible for his injuries in the first place.
"Rest up. We're heading back to Marineford. If I don't return soon, they might actually think I'm dead," Roja said, his tone light but tinged with mischief.
And so, their unexpected journey back to Marineford began.
