The next day, the training ground was packed with excited Marines, buzzing with anticipation. Fleet Admiral Sengoku and Vice Admiral Garp had come in person to oversee the battle. All eyes were on the arena, awaiting the much-anticipated duel between Roja and Admiral Akainu.
As the minutes ticked by, Roja was nowhere to be seen. Sengoku glanced at his pocket watch.
"Only five minutes left before the duel officially begins," he murmured. "If Roja doesn't show up, it'll be an automatic forfeit."
Akainu stood in the center of the field, arms crossed, his demeanor as imposing as ever. The gathered Marines exchanged whispers, their excitement tinged with doubt.
"Do you think Roja's afraid to show up?"
"No way! Roja's strong. He wouldn't back down from this fight!"
"But his abilities seem more suited for support. Akainu's magma is on another level."
"Maybe he's realized he can't win…"
Akainu's expression darkened as he overheard the murmurs. His disdain for Roja grew with every passing second. To him, Roja was nothing but a pretender—a clown who had managed to climb the ranks far too quickly.
Just as Sengoku was about to make an announcement, the crowd stirred.
"Look! It's Roja!"
"He's here!"
"Roja didn't back down—what a man!"
Roja entered the training ground with Kalifa by his side, his calm and confident demeanor silencing the doubters. Ignoring Akainu, Roja locked eyes with Sengoku and gave him a nod and a smile. Sengoku couldn't help but feel that Roja had an uncanny ability to inspire those around him.
Akainu scowled. "Fleet Admiral, let's begin," he said coldly.
Sengoku raised his hand, signaling for silence. "Roja, are you ready?"
Roja smirked. "Ready as ever."
With that, Sengoku declared, "Begin!"
The arena erupted with cheers as Akainu wasted no time, his magma-infused fist hurtling toward Roja like an erupting volcano.
"Ryusei Kazan!" Akainu roared. The intense heat warped the air as his fiery attack bore down on Roja.
Roja's arm shimmered as a deep, inky-black Haki enveloped it. His Armament Haki wasn't just ordinary—it was honed to perfection, almost artistic in its design. Sengoku and Garp's eyes widened in shock.
"That level of Haki… it's at the pinnacle!" Garp muttered.
With a deafening boom, Roja's fist collided with Akainu's magma. The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the training ground, causing many onlookers to stumble.
But when the dust cleared, Roja stood firm, his arm unscathed. The magma swirled harmlessly around his Haki-clad arm, unable to touch him.
Akainu's confidence faltered. "How is this possible?! What kind of Armament Haki can block my magma so completely?"
Roja chuckled softly. "You said I'm weak, Akainu. Let's see if you can handle my strength."
In the blink of an eye, Roja vanished, reappearing behind Akainu with a perfect execution of Soru. Before Akainu could react, Roja raised both arms, his Haki radiating power.
"The ultimate secret of the Six Powers—Rokuogan: Enhanced Form!"
A shockwave exploded from Roja's palms, slamming into Akainu's back. The force was immense, sending Akainu flying through the air like a ragdoll. A powerful gust swept through the arena, leaving the spectators in stunned silence.
"Akainu… was sent flying?" one Marine whispered, disbelief evident in his tone.
In midair, Akainu struggled to recover, but his body refused to cooperate. Pain wracked his senses, and he could taste blood in his mouth.
Before he could regain control, Roja launched himself skyward with Geppo, the skywalk technique. The sun framed Roja's silhouette, giving him an almost divine aura.
"You mocked my abilities, Akainu," Roja said, his voice calm but commanding. "Let me show you the true power of my fruit."
"Phantom Susanoo!"
A colossal, translucent purple figure materialized around Roja, resembling a fearsome warrior. The spectral giant radiated an overwhelming presence, its body reinforced by Roja's Haki.
The Marines gasped in awe and terror.
"What is that thing?!"
"Is this the power of his Devil Fruit?!"
"It's terrifyingly powerful!"
Within the protective shell of the Phantom Susanoo, Roja launched his next attack. The giant's arm mirrored Roja's movements as he raised his fist.
"Akainu, brace yourself!"
With one devastating punch, the Phantom Susanoo sent Akainu hurtling toward the ground like a falling meteor. The impact created a massive crater, over 300 meters in diameter. Dust and debris clouded the air as Akainu lay motionless at the center, utterly defeated.
Roja descended gracefully, the Phantom Susanoo dissipating into a faint shimmer. His uniform remained immaculate, as if the fight had been nothing more than a warm-up.
The arena fell into stunned silence. Even Sengoku and Garp, seasoned veterans, were left speechless.
Finally, Roja turned to Sengoku. "Fleet Admiral, should we announce the results?"
Sengoku snapped out of his daze, nodding slightly. "Medical team, attend to Akainu immediately!"
He then stepped forward, activating the transponder snail's loudspeaker. "Roja, by unanimous decision, is promoted to Admiral!"
The crowd erupted into cheers, chanting, "Admiral Roja! Admiral Roja!"
From the sidelines, Kalifa rushed into Roja's arms, her joy palpable. "Congratulations, Roja! You've earned it!"
Sengoku looked at the jubilant pair and sighed, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Youth truly is a wonderful thing."
He addressed Roja again. "You are the first to claim the title of Admiral in this promotion round. Once the other two Admirals are determined, the Navy will formally announce your appointments to the world."
Roja nodded respectfully. "Understood, Fleet Admiral."
Sengoku's confidence in the Navy swelled. With Roja among their ranks, the Marines had gained an indomitable force, one who would strike fear into the hearts of pirates everywhere.
