One Piece: Rise of Gray

When he finally wakes up, he is in the world of One Piece. He is now the only successful subjects for marines after their experiement. He was your typical VR-mmo player. He transmigrated while watching a piece in his VR. Before going blank in his VR capsule, he filled out a form.

Meeting

Marine Corps headquarters,

Sengoku had received word of a survivor of Project Ruin.

Sengoku immediately dispatched Akainu to command the new forces that would be formed soon.

Sengoku dispatched Akainu to stop them from wreaking havoc after they were successfully created and was looking forward to the results that would be revealed following the success of Project Ruin.

He did, however, receive reports that those who came after him had all died, with only one survivor.

Sengoku sighed as he read the second report.

'If this had succeeded, marines would have risen to power and effectively ended the pirate era.'

Garp laughed as he swallowed a handful of crackers: "Bahaha! Why so long a face? Enjoy some crackers."

Sengoku was irritated. "At the very least, if you can't shut up, eat your crackers somewhere else."

"Bahaha! Alright, but I can't. "

Sengoku had a vein pop out.

"How come? This is the office of the marine's head admiral."

Sengoku's remark made Garp laugh.

"Bahaha! It digests well here!"

Sengoku is absolutely sure. Trying to find logic when dealing with Garp was pointless. He chose to ignore him.

Sengoku furrows his brow and commands the guard who delivered the report "bring them here!"

Garp was still eating crackers.

As Akainu entered the room, Gray trailed behind him.

Sengoku moved his hands away from his brow.

"Is he the one?"

Akainu released a mouthful of smoke.

"He is the only survivor of that research work,"

Gray stepped forward.

Gray was face-to-face with Sengoku.

Sengoku took a long look at Gray, particularly at his appearance.

Gray's hair was silvery white, and his pupils were golden making him resemble a fairy tale angel.

As a result of extensive body experimentation, he had a skinny body.

Gray didn't move an inch as he locked his gaze on Sengoku. He wasn't scared of such insignificant things. He had seen a lot worse in his VR and this situation was no different.

*Growl*

"Bahaha!"

Garp started again.

"He's starving after such a long journey."

Gray turned to face Garp. He was having his usual rice-crackers.

Garp started to taunt Gray.

"Are you up for some crackers? Bahaha!"

Gray walked up to Garp, creepily smiling and took the packet of crackers he was holding.

In a sarcastic tone, "Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Marine."

Gray stuffed the crackers into his mouth and asked, "So, what will happen to me now?"

Garp stared at him as if he'd seen a ghost. It was the first time in all his years in the Marines that someone actually took his crackers.

Gray even thanked him in the most sarcastic manner imaginable. Garp liked it for some reason.

"Before officially joining the marines, you'll be trained under a vice-admiral personally since you are exceptional case." Sengoku replied.

After they began talking, Akainu left the room. His job was done, and he didn't want to get involved in such small matters.

While they were having conversations, Garp opened another packet of rice-crackers and joined in the conversation.

"Let me handle him. I'll train him until he begs me not to."

Gray gave Garp an unimpressed look.

Garp noticed Gray's doubtful expression, "What's that expression supposed to mean?"

Gray knew Garp was not joking here; it could be seen in Garp's eyes.

It was also a perfect learning opportunity. It would be difficult, but he couldn't give up in the middle if it was Garp and the results would be worth pursuing.

Gray had to act as if he didn't know who he was; he had to play the part of someone who had amnesia.

"Are you a strong person? You don't look that strong. "

Garp rubbed his nose and began to boast.

"For your information, they call me Hero of the Marines."

Gray made a doubtful expression, "What a lame title!"

*Cough*

*Cough*

Sengoku drew both of their attention away from each other.

"If you get stronger, Gray, you'll be a great asset to the marines."

Gray laughed silently in his heart.

'I'll be out of here once I've used you all to gain power at the proper moment.'

"I plan to work hard." "I have a question."

Sengoku raised his eyebrows, "What is it?"

"I got Kaido's physique. Does that mean I've got his Devil fruit in me?"

Sengoku shook his head and said, "It was just his physique. You'll need a different Devil Fruit."

Gray recalled that there was no option to select Devil Fruit in that form but rather a Note.

[Devil Fruit-Can consume two devil fruits due to different body and soul.]

Gray hadn't made up his mind yet, but he planned to get one of the most powerful. If Kaido's Devil fruit was already in him as a result of the experiment, he would have been puzzled as to whether he should eat third one.

"Where am I supposed to go from here?"

Garp rose from his seat "Follow me! You'll be living like any other Marine."

Gray began to follow Garp.

"Where do most marines live?"

"They have chambers where they keep a group of them."

"Do you share a chamber with them?"

"Marines in high positions are given a separate house."

"Relating the devil fruit. How are you going to get them?"

"The Marines have their own network. They'd find it if they worked hard enough. "

"How powerful is your Devil fruit?"

"I don't own one. I use Haki. "

As a result, he asked him every question he could think of that would add to his knowledge after amnesia while not raising any suspicions.

On his way, he noticed Akainu using his devil fruit and asked about it. Akainu didn't bother, but he did ask some questions of other members of the warship. They were helpful, and that added to his knowledge of devil fruits after amnesia.

He knew all this beforehand. He played it safe to not raise any suspicion.

Gray gave a smile.

...

Gray was in an area with traditional Japanese architecture.

'It's exactly like in the episode.'

"Are you sure you didn't take us to a tourist spot?"

Garp did not respond, but instead walked inside.

The interior of the training grounds, like traditional Japanese architectural heritage, was made of wood. The grounds were constantly patrolled by guards.

Gray was taken to an isolated training field where Garp awaited after a night's rest.

While he was uncertain of the Marines' plans for him, he was confident they would assist him once he proved his worth. Such that, he would almost certainly be given the chance to select a devil fruit.

It was virtually impossible to escape from such a tightly guarded Fortress. So, he steeled himself for the training here.

Garp tossed Gray his training uniform. It was a marine dress.

"Brat, you will undergo daily combat and haki training practice from today onwards."

Gray caught the dress. He didn't like it.

"Try it on."

Gray quickly wore it.

Grap launched a frontal attack as soon as he put on the suit, punching him in the chest.

"Bang!"

Gray flew after getting hit and dropped 10 steps back.

Gray was unable to react. He coughed briefly, but that was all.

Garp gave Gray a friendly smile as he stood up.

"Even if you're skinny, Kaido's body took that punch like it was nothing. Someone else would have had their ribs cracked."

"Huh!"

Gray couldn't believe Garp's words. He launched an attack with the intention of cracking his ribs.

'Isn't this a little harsh for a new recruit?'

Garp was several times more powerful and faster than a normal person despite not using Haki.

Gray was impressed. He was even satisfied with his godlike body.

"Then, shall we dance?"

Combat training was robust but simple. Garp would point out his flaws from time to time.

They kept going like this for four hours. Gray was covered in bruises by the end of it. He deduced that if Garp had hit a normal person with all of these blows, they would be in a coma at the very least with all their bones in pieces.

Garp walked away with an order.

"Be here after two hours."

Gray went to grab some food. It was already time.

Gray walked away from the grounds to get his serve.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Gray was considering what to eat. Marines, particularly new recruits, were forced to follow a strict health diet with no exceptions.

Gray chose to eat a healthy meal of meat and rice. It was the best meal the Marines could provide. After training, he became gluttonous. He brought enough food to feed four Marines.

Gray took a seat at an empty table and began eating quietly.

His gaze was directed to a number of Marines who had never seen him before.

While looking at unknown Marines, his attention was drawn to someone from the series.

'Coby?'

'He is still here.'

'Based on his physique, Garp should have only recently begun his training.'

'If I had to guess, Luffy must not have arrived in Alabasta yet, because Coby appears weak as a baby.' ' So that has to be it.'

Gray was staring at Coby with his eyes wide open, not blinking.

Meeting Coby here aided in forming a rough timeline.

Gray was staring at Coby while Helmeppo noticed him.

Helmeppo made a wish in Coby's ear.

"Did you offend the silver-haired guy?"

Coby turned his head to face Gray, and saw him staring at him.

"I don't know him. Its my first time meeting him."

Helmeppo whispered again in his ears.

"Try to remember."

"He has been staring at you since that time."

Coby bolted from the room, with Helmeppo hot on his tail.

"Why are you leaving?" while chasing after coby.

Gray noticed Coby leaving.

'What's the deal with these two?'

Gray ate four plates of food but was still hungry. His physique was that of Kaido. It was barely enough.

Gray grabbed ten more servings of food.

Gray was met with a skeptical look from the food distributor.

"Don't squander the food? Can you even finish all of this?"

"We'll see about that," Gray says with a grin to the food distributor.

Gray sat down and began stuffing food into his stomach.

He finally got his stomach filled after finishing 14 plates.

'This body requires an excessive amount of food. I can't even move now.'
