Battle

Garp deployed his Arnament Haki as Gray began to morph into a purple dragon.

Sengoku frowned at the abrupt change in topic and the start of battle, which was made even more rash by the fact that it was taking place in his office and right in front of his eyes. He was head admiral that looked after peace of this world.

Two vice admirals were taken aback by the dramatic change in atmosphere between Garp and Gray.

They wanted to see their battle, but it was impossible to do so in Marine headquarters.

'This is supposed to be a symbol of peace, but these two want to fight here.'

Sengoku yelled angrily at the top of his lungs. He couldn't let Gray morph into a dragon since the sheer size of the dragon would destroy the entire headquarter building.

"You both stop it at this instant, and that's an order."

Gray ceased his transformation into a dragon, and Garp glanced at Sengoku with an innocent expression, as if he didn't understand why Sengoku was furious with him.

Sengoku was relieved since Gray had stopped changing into a purple dragon and was diminishing in size.

Sengoku closed his eyes for a split second to relax. He felt a cold breeze run through him.

'Even the air seems to sympathize with me, but the door is shut. 'How is the air coming in?' Sengoku opened his eyes in a rush and saw something he didn't want to see.

"Dragon claw!"

"Haki! Arnament!"

"Baam!"

Gray had morphed into a Dragon Hybrid, and his right arm had turned into a claw, clashing with Garp's black fist.

The impact of their punches caused the air to flow wild in the roon.

Sengoku was taken aback by their audacity in pulling that maneuver in front of the Head Admiral.

Garp and Gray sensed Sengoku staring at them but ignored him. They were well aware that they would face repercussions for their actions. So, if they were going to have problems, they determined to fight even harder.

Garp kicked Gray in the stomach, sending him flying towards the wall.

"Dragon wings!" Gray's back sprouted two wings. He flapped his wing once, causing a whirlwind that shattered all of the windows' glasses and caused documents to blow away with the wind.

Two vice-admirals were waiting for Sengoku's orders, but Sengoku was at a loss for words. He could intervene, but that may lead to a three-way fight, and giving them commands was pointless.

"Gramps, you're still good in your old age."

"You're not bad for a brat."

"I'll show you what a brat is capable of. I hope you don't expire."

"Not in a million years, Bahaha"

Sengoku had a bad feeling when Gray grinned after he spoke. He expected it to be over with just a few blows.

'In Marine Headquarters, they would never dare to attempt something so huge.'

"Bolo Breathe!" Gray's mouth was filled with a massive amount of purple flames.

Gray shot a tremendous chonicle blast of purple flames at Garp. The blast was big enough to easily blow up a fleet of warships. It wasn't quite at Kaido's level, but it was enough to take out formidable opponents.

Sengoku, Garp, Tsusru, and Momonga all frowned at the same time. Garp leapt out of the way to avoid the onslaught. It was too unexpected for them, as they had not expected Gray to understand how the technique worked just after acquiring the devil fruit.

Gray comprehended how it worked because of the series. It was Kaidou's most commonly seen attack, in which he gathers fire inside his mouth before "breathing" it out into a massive, conical blast toward his target of choosing. This explosion travels quickly, covering a large area in a matter of seconds, and is incredibly powerful.

"Bolo Blast" has the ability to instantly devastate a major structure, such as the remains of a castle, while leaving the surrounding environment, such as a mountaintop, blown to bits and burnt, to set a significant area of a forest ablaze, and even to be split into multiple smaller fireballs shot out like bullets.

Garp avoided the chronicle blast, and the attack burst through the wall, demolishing everything in its route all the way to the sea.

A big explosion erupted in the water, causing alarm among the marines stationed at the headquarters. Many were prepared for combat since they had anticipated an attack from an outside army.

Garp had a scratch on his forehead. Sengoku couldn't tell if the two of them were bold or stupid. As for Vice admirals they were drenched in sweat.

"You truly planned to kill me, brat."

His office was lacking three-quarters of its walls.

"Gramps, we're just getting started."

Garp was preparing for the upcoming combat, but Sengoku wouldn't let it happen.

"Catch them!"

"Huh"*2

Tsuru and Momonga shackled them both. They were not criminals and did not fight back.

"How could you do this to your friend, with whom you spend your days fighting criminals as allies?"

Sengoku was unconcerned about such emotional assaults. He got used to it after spending so much time with Garp.

"If I let you go, you'll both annihilate the island."

They were both restrained with standard handcuffs. There was nowhere to hold them back. They could snap it at any time.

Gray took his human form. He had to give Sengoku some peace of mind. Sengoku was planning various punishments for them. He wanted to suspend Garp, but it would be like giving him a holiday.

Sengoku made his decision after much deliberation.

'How am I going to report this to those five bloodthirsty Elders?'

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Gray was working out with Garp today. Sengoku ordered Garp to personally look after all of the trainees as punishment. He was also named Gray's instructor.

'The marines must have recognized my potential. 'This time, they didn't back down from offering me the finest.'

'After what I pulled, they'd undoubtedly be impressed, and that would overshadow the blunder.'

"Baam!"

Gray was struck by a stick. He was being trained in observation Haki personally from Garp. He was getting hit multiple times with no feeling of pain from the attacks.

He was getting other haki training as well. He was working hard for improving his combat prowess.

'I need to bulk up before the battle between Whitebeard and the Marines.'

Gray began spending his entire day in training. When he became hungry, he ate like there was no tomorrow and did not calm down with modest meals.

Many great pirates and Marines were indifferent of Haki and rose to power solely via the use of their devil fruit. Gray refused to back down from any sort of training that might help him become stronger.

"I believe I can now use Arnament Haki, Gramps."

"Huh! You say you managed to pull it off after two months of training".

Gray had finished two years of training in two months. He could go on for days without sleeping thanks to his physique. Every day, he trained and slept for just four hours. He was able to pull it off a long time ago but kept it a secret or others would think he had too much of a talent.

He had already beaten every senior who came to get their hands on him to a pulp, and some were still in the hospital. He was simply too strong for them and became bored eventually, so his only option was to train.

"Gramps, I feel I should begin my service as a marine and bring those heinous pirates to justice."

Gray had a blaze in his eyes. ' This is embarrassing, but I have to behave like a rookie full of enthusiasm.'

Garp had no reason to say no. Gray had already demonstrated his qualifications and was powerful enough to deal with strong pirates.

"Let us go see Sengoku. We haven't seen one other in a long time."

"Gramps, I heard about an event in Alabasta a few days ago. "Do you have any knowledge of it?"

Garp pondered if he should tell him the truth or not.

"What I am going to tell you, Keep that a secret."

Gray simply nodded. In Garp's opinion, he was trustworthy.

"Crocodile had intended to take Alabasta on the ruin, but was stopped by my grandson Luffy. Bahaha"

'Such a short description. He doesn't like describing at all. '

"Doesn't that mean one fewer warlord?"

Garp simply nodded. "Sengoku's brain must have fried just thinking about it."

"I wanna see his face. Bahaha"

Gray paused for a moment before approaching Garp.

I've got an idea! "I believe Sengoku will like it."

Garp lifted his brow in response to his statements. He wanted to hear it as well, both went to see Sengoku.

Grap entered Sengoku's office without knocking or scheduling an appointment. It was as though he were entering his own chamber rather than the head of the admiral's office.

When both of them strolled in, Sengoku had high blood pressure from Luffy and was focused with the latest alabasta event.

"Bahaha, "You see your friend after such a long time, but you appear frustrated."

Sengoku became even more irritated as Garp began his regular blabbering. It's all because of your grandson. "I swear your bloodline is cursed."

"Bahahaha."

Grap annoyed him for a while before ultimately telling him that Gray was ready to be an active marine. He also informed him Gray something to speak with him. Sengoku was curious by what Gray intended to ask of him.

"What exactly is it?"

"Make me warlord of the sea."

"Huh"*2

"So you intended to betray marines from the start?" This time, Sengoku was dead serious.

Gray could tell something was wrong. He didn't mean it that way; he assumed Sengoku would get it.

"You got everything wrong. "Please allow me to explain what I mean." Gray lightened the mood.

"Go on!"

Gray inhaled deeply. He'd considered it a million times and had long prepared a speech.

"There is a place among the warlords."

Sengoku simply nodded.

"Even if you are Head Admiral, you must notify the Celestial Dragons of all actions, and they do not allow you to take massive steps to directly wipe out a pirate group, which had allowed pirates to grow prior to coming to the new world, and you cannot command admirals or warlords unless it is necessary to wipe out a pirate crew due to higher ups." Did I get anything wrong? "

"And what about It?" Sengoku was still not getting the point.

"What if a warlord keeps annihilating massive pirate parties both before and after they arrive on a new world?"

"That would require a large number of troops, Admiral, but what if a warlord did it alone?"

"Until they are pirates, even the higher-ups couldn't say anything, but if you command and the operation fails, the higher-ups would not allow you to make such movements again, even if the opportunity presented itself. However, if the warlord fails while going on his own, it will be irrelevant as it was his own choice and not the command given by Marines."

Sengoku saw Gray's meaning and his face brightened up, but there were issues.

"It must be kept hidden from those higher ups, who already know you have the Devil fruit."

"Will it be difficult for you to fabricate my death and a claim that someone ate the devil fruit shortly after the prior user?" Gray gave Sengoku a friendly smile.

"We must do justice. We have been lacking due to a lack of power, and if I can serve justice by remaining incognito after being a warlord, I don't care about the status, as I only want to make the world a better place for everyone. What are prestige, reputation, and riches in comparison?"

After hearing Gray's comments, Sengoku had a flashback to the past. He joined the Marine Corps to serve humanity and make the world a better place for everyone. He worked hard and eventually rose to the rank of Head Admiral, but even after that, the Five Elders would limit him if the mission failed. He had various restrictions and the posistion became a shackle that binded him from making big moves.

'If I submit to authority, what type of justice have I been serving up to this point? This is an opportunity to limit the amount of pirates who enter the new planet. This person before me inspired me to accomplish things without being bound by those five elders, and I must use it for the sake of justice.'

"You will need a crew for that, How are you planning to get It?"

"I will build one with a gang of formidable pirates who will serve me and remain loyal,", "and I will take care of it myself."

Sengoku was the head admiral; he could supply Gray with the resources he needed to properly assemble a steady crew, and recruiting them was ultimately Gray's responsibility.

"Leave the paperwork to me." You only need to accomplish something, and I'll give you the title."

Gray had a lucky day today.
