Operation Utopia

Yo! If you have anything you want to see in 'Skypiea', please let me know!! I have a few ideas but I want to make the 'Priests' stronger so the fights are more interesting, preferably a devil fruit for one of them but if you have another good idea, let me know! Thanks for curing my writer's block!!

The Straw Hat Pirates had sailed to the west side of the 'Sandora River', 'Alabasta's' biggest river, and anchored when they reached land.

"Everyone…" Vivi grabbed everyone's attention as they were preparing to disembark.

"Please be careful of the 'Kung-Fu Dugongs', they look like dugongs with a turtle shell on their back. The river is practically overflowing so there should be a lot of them wherever we end up landing. No matter what you do, don't fight them." She explained getting raised eyebrows but still nods from everyone.

"Gomu-Gomu no..."

Well, almost everyone.

"Whip!!!"

*BOOM*

They all looked towards the noise and saw Luffy kicking the hell out of a group of 'Kung-Fu Dugongs' with his stretched leg. Nami deadpanned at Vivi, who was looking at the scene with a sense of defeat.

"Vivi. Why can't we fight them?" Nami asked. If Luffy could beat them that easily, they weren't that strong. Nami smacked her forehead when she realized what she just thought.

'I should never judge something's strength based on how easily Luffy beats it in a fight. He can beat most things without trying.' She thought to herself in exasperation.

They hadn't even been on the 'Grand Line' that long and she's already going insane. Luckily, Vivi answered her question which distracted her from her thoughts.

"We shouldn't fight them because if you beat them…" She trailed off as every single 'Kung-Fu Dugong' bowed to Luffy and looked at him with stars in their eyes.

"Their code of honor states that once they are defeated, a 'Kung-Fu Dugong' must follow and aid the one who defeated them." She finished with a sweat-drop as Luffy started directing the dugongs on how to punch correctly. Nami sighed at that answer.

"Well, maybe Luffy can get them to guard the ship or something." She mumbled out, making Vivi perk up.

"That's a great idea!" She said before she ran down off the ship and to Luffy, who was now having the dugongs spar each other.

"Good, good!! Wait, you!! You gotta bend your elbow like this!!" Vivi heard Luffy say as he threw his arm forward, the dugong he was talking to mimicking him, making him smile and nod. Vivi laughed at the sight, which made him look over at her.

"Hahahaha!! I was telling everyone to be careful of these guys, but I think you'll be fine. Can you ask them to guard the 'Going Merry'?" Vivi said before asking as Luffy smiled at her when he heard her laugh.

Vivi has been stressing herself out a lot over the war as she didn't want to put her new friends in danger while they were sailing across the 'Sandora River'.

Luffy had sensed this, so he had a hard conversation with Vivi that, while making her mad and even cry at the start, made her realize that even if they were able to get to the rebels and stop the civil war, Crocodile would just do something else to start it again.

Luffy was happy she didn't have that on her shoulders anymore. Now all she had to worry about was saving her country and all he had to worry about was beating up that stupid Croc. He turned to his new group of students with a smile.

"Oi!!!" He yelled out, making them all get into even and orderly lines, which made some of his friends who had disembarked snort in amusement.

"We gotta go do some stuff, so I need you guys to protect my ship while I'm gone!! Can you do that for me?"

'Of course, Sensei!!' 'No one will lay a finger on this ship!' 'No, No one will come with ten meters of this ship!' 'We'll make you proud, sensei!' 'We will pray for your safe return' 'Bring back food!'

"Shishishishi!! I think they'll guard the ship!!" Luffy laughed as the dugongs started fighting over who would best guard the ship. He blinked when something was draped over his head.

Luffy pulled it off his head to see he was holding a red cloak and a blue scarf. He looked questioningly behind him at Nami, who had changed into a big, white cloak like the one she put on his head.

"Put this on so you don't get a sunburn," Nami told him, which made Luffy pout but he still did it because he didn't want another one of her punches.

Luffy smiled again before turning around, seeing his crew all ready for the walk across the desert. Well, Chopper and Bepo were begging not to go, but it went in one ear and right out the other.

Luffy raised an eyebrow when he saw Nami and Vivi narrowing their eyes at each other, but he shrugged when he remembered a valuable piece of advice from Shanks' Vice-Captain, Benn Beckman.

"I would rather fight all four of the 'Four Emperors' at once than get in between two women in a fight. It's much worse if they are friends. It could end the world if it's over a guy."

So he did as he was taught. Disregard it while hoping their fight didn't involve him in any way.

With that, they set off for 'Rainbase', where Crocodile and his members of 'Baroque Works' should be, leaving the 'Going Merry' protected by Luffy's new group of students.

"Yosh!! Desert Adventure!!"

"Holy shit this is way too hot!!"

They had been walking for a few hours at this point and Usopp was barely dragging his feet in the sand in exhaustion.

The exhaustion doubled when he saw Luffy and Vivi talking energetically as if the sun had already set.

Usopp felt a bit better when he saw Bepo and Chopper sweating up a storm with their tongues hanging out of their mouths.

"Water… Thirsty… Sand… Food…" "I can't feel my legs… I think I'm gonna pass out."

The sniper sweat-dropped when he heard their muttering.

'Maybe I'll just be happy I don't have fur.' He thought to himself. His silence lasted about ten seconds before he let out a groan.

*GROAN*

"Are we there yet?" He whined out, making almost everyone sigh.

"No" "No" "No" "No" "No"

"Are we there yet?"

*GROAN*

"No" "No" "No"

"Are we-"

*ZIZZ*

Usopp felt a shiver down his throat as he felt the pressure of 'Conqueror's Haki'.

*GLUP*

He swallowed loudly when he saw Zoro glaring at him with his hand on the hilt of one of his katana.

"Usopp."

"Yes sir."

"Shut the hell up."

"Yes sir…"

He breathed a sigh of relief when Zoro turned back around after he said that.

Luffy and Vivi were talking away about the fun things they had done on the journey here. Luffy just wanted to distract Vivi from her thinking about the war too much. Luffy was happy when he saw her adamantly talking about 'Little Garden'.

"I still can't believe Giants are real!!" She shouted out in her excitement, Luffy doing much of the same.

"I know, right!! Those guys were so cool!! I can't wait till we go to that 'Elbaf' place!!" Luffy shouted while throwing his hands up in the air, making Vivi laugh.

"Hahahaha!! Thank you, Luffy. I know you're distracting me from thinking about the war." She smiled softly at the pirate, unaware of the breaking sound of Sanji's soul echoing in the background. Luffy just smiled his beaming smile at her.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He said, getting another laugh from the princess. Luffy was surprised when his right arm was suddenly grabbed by Nami. He looked down at her to see her pouting at him, which made him smile.

"Luffyyyy, I'm too tired!! Can you carry me?" She asked with an innocent smile that made Vivi's eyebrow twitch. Luffy, oblivious as ever, just smiled at what he thought was his friend simply asking for help.

"Sure, I'll carry you. The sun isn't super hot, so I'll be fine." Luffy said as he got down on one knee with his back facing Nami, not seeing the horrified looks from Chopper and Bepo when he said that.

He also didn't notice Vivi glaring at him and Nami, who had a triumphant smirk on her face, but the two made sure he wouldn't notice. 

Nami got onto his back and wrapped her arms and legs around him like a koala before, once again unknown to Luffy, she stuck out her tongue and pulled her eyelid down at the fuming Vivi.

She got suspicious as Vivi seemed to have an idea as she pulled on Luffy's left arm with a pouty face.

"Luffyyyy, the sun is too bright!! Can I borrow your hat, just for a bit?" Vivi asked making Nami's eyes widen before they narrowed at the princess.

She was the only one Luffy gave his hat to in the entire time she had sailed with him. Nami bit her lip hard when Luffy smiled at Vivi. 

"Sure, but take good care of it. It's really important to me." He said as he took his most prized possession off and handed it to Vivi, who put it on with a triumphant smile aimed at the scowling Nami.

*AHEM*

All three of them blinked before looking back at everyone else who was deadpanning at them. Nami and Vivi's faces burned a bright red when they heard that, making them bury their faces into Luffy's back and hat respectively.

Luffy just had his head tilted in confusion before he shrugged and turned around to keep the journey going.

Everyone including Nami and Vivi deadpanned at him when he did that. Sanji clenched his jaw hard enough to bite through his cigarette as he watched the scene.

"This lucky bastard doesn't even know how lucky he is!!" He shouted out in pain as Usopp patted his back with a sweat-drop. Everyone froze when they heard what Luffy said next.

"If you two wanna fuck, wait till after I beat up that stupid Croc."

Vivi was looking around in horror at what was left of the town of 'Yuba', completely covered in sand. She gripped her fists hard enough that her nails drew blood that dripped onto the sand she was standing on.

The Straw Hats came up behind her after giving her a minute to think. She turned towards them, only to see most of their attention to her left.

She looked over and saw an old man digging a hole in the sand. Vivi bit her lip when she realized he was digging to try and find water. 

Vivi started walking over to the man, drawing his attention. She was wholly unprepared for the man to drop to his knees and start crying as soon as he saw her.

"V-Vivi-chan?! That's you isn't it?" The man asked through his tears, confusing Vivi as she had never met this person before. Her confusion must've shown on her face as the man wiped his flowing tears off his face before looking up at her.

"It's no wonder you don't recognize me, I look like a completely different person at this point." The man said through his tears, confusing Vivi more before she widened her eyes in surprise.

"Are you Mr. Toto?!" She shouted out in shock, making the man's tears come back in full force. 

"Yes, it's me. Thank god you're still alive Vivi!! Please stop Koza from his foolishness!! I know your father is still a good man!!" The man yelled out, almost in hysterics, making Vivi put her hands on his shoulders and force him to look up at her again. She smiled as brightly as she could at him before glancing back at her friends who had caught up with her after she ran ahead.

"Don't worry, Mr. Toto. My friends will help me stop the war and save 'Alabasta'." She said with a certainty that made Toto breathe a sigh of relief.

"That's good to hear, Vivi-chan. It's been very tough for us while you were gone, but I know you'll handle it well. There have been countless sandstorms passing through here every day completely ruining the town." The man said in a defeated tone. Vivi was trying her best to comfort the man while everyone else stood back, watching the scene.

Luffy abruptly walked forward, getting everyone's attention. Luffy walked next to Vivi and Toto, grabbed the shovel the man had dropped earlier, and applied 'Armament Haki' to it. He looked at the two who were staring at him in confusion with a smile.

"Sand can't beat me, old man!!"

*DIG* *DIG* *DIG* *DIG* *DIG*

They all watched as Luffy left afterimages from how fast he was digging before he disappeared in the hole he dug.

*TING*

They all heard a noise that was different from the shovel hitting the sand and everything stopped for a second.

*FWOOSH!!*

A massive geyser burst open and started gushing out water from the hole in the sand Luffy disappeared in.

"Ah, you did it.." The old man trailed off in disbelief as he cupped his hands, grabbing some of the dropping water before taking a sip. His tears returned in full, but this time in joy.

"Hahahaha!!! You did it, young man!! Thank you!! This proves this city can be rebuilt!!" The man was crying tears of happiness as he laughed out in joy. He turned to Luffy with a massive smile.

"What can I do to repay you, lad?" He asked making Luffy's smile widen.

"Some water and meat would be great!!"

All of the members of 'Baroque Works' except for Mr. 0 and Ms. All Sunday are gathered in the basement of 'Rain Dinners', Crocodile's Casino in 'Rainbase'. They were all sitting around a long table, scanning the people who they now knew as their comrades.

A male crossdresser who was wearing flamboyant ballet clothes with a swan theme was poking the arm of a tall man, very muscular and his head shaven with his most striking feature being the black unibrow over his round eyes, whose eyebrow kept twitching as he kept getting poked.

"Come on One-chan, stop being so cold~." The feminine man cooed, making the taller man click his tongue in annoyance. 

*Tsk* *SHING*

The feminine man's finger stopped right before poking the other man again as he felt a prick on his finger, looking down to see the arm he was poking was now half-sword.

The feminine man glared up at the stoic man.

"Oi! I don't give a shit who you are, One-chan!! If you mess with me, I'll kick your ass!" He shouted as he sensed the man glaring at him. They were cut off when Ms. All Sunday suddenly entered the room with a small smirk on her face.

"I should've known you can't play nice for even a minute, right?" She asked sarcastically as he tilted her head to the side before continuing.

"Please don't mind me. You're welcome to fight all you want." She said with the same tone. Before anyone could say anything else, they all heard a voice from behind the door. 

"Not yet. They are worthless to me as corpses."

They all turned to see a man with a long-stitched scar at the bridge of his nose that stretched across his face and a large hook made from a tough gold alloy in place of his left hand. He was puffing on a cigar as he walked to the head of the table. As he did so, a chair of sand was created at the head of the table, where the man sat down before Ms. All Sunday walked next to him and introduced him.

"Let me introduce you to your boss. He's one of the 'Seven Warlords of the Sea', 'Desert King' Sir Crocodile." She said as the man smirked at all of them. They all tensed when they heard the identity of their hidden boss and looked at him warily. He ignored the looks as he scanned the room.

"Let me introduce the plan we have been working towards since the creation of 'Baroque Works' and what all of your tasks have been focused around." The man said gaining all of the room's occupant's attention before he continued as his smirk widened.

"This plan is what I like to call 'Operation Utopia'."
