Mock Town

Yo! As I write this, I am in the emergency room waiting for the doctor to pull shards of glass out of my foot, so my bad if I miss an upload or two. Stepping on a broken glass bottle and feeling the glass touch the bones in my foot makes it a bit hard to focus on writing😂 I made some edits as I didn't have a chance to before, so the chapter should be more readable now. Also, since I just got out of the emergency room and have a bunch of shit to catch up on, I'm just gonna take a break for the rest of the week to get more organized. Sorry for that, but I just need a bit of time. I'll be back next Monday/Tuesday, depending on where you are in the world, so I'll see you then!

The Straw Hats were all filling their time as they made their way to their next destination.

Luffy was talking with Levi while the sea king was pulling the 'Going Merry', Zoro was training on the deck with massive weights, Sanji was in the kitchen preparing for the storm that was a hungry Luffy, Law was in the laboratory doing research with Bepo, and Nami was in her room drawing some maps.

The other three on the 'Going Merry,' Usopp, Chopper, and Robin, were in the middle of the deck, with the sniper and doctor on one side of a small table and the archeologist on the other side.

The two were trying their best to perform an interrogation on their newest crew mate because Zoro told them to get more information on her, but it seemed like she just found it amusing.

"You've been a criminal since you were a kid?" Usopp asked, getting a nod from Robin.

"I was forced to leave my home and do things I'm not proud of to survive." Usopp waited for her to continue, but she didn't, so he asked another question.

"Where were you when we were fighting those Marine Warships?" Usopp asked with a confused head tilt. Robin blinked at the question before an amused smile grew on her face.

"I was on a 'Banana Gator', which is that giant crocodile with a banana-shaped growth on their head, heading towards you guys, but they aren't the fastest. I think it was around thirty minutes after the fighting finished when I got here." Robin said in amusement as the two looked at her warily. 

They glanced at each other before looking back to the amused woman. Chopper was the one who spoke up for them.

"Um, how did you follow us without us knowing? I'm sure Luffy or someone would've sensed if you used your devil fruit on the 'Going Merry'." Chopper asked in a confused tone, knowing that his friends, especially Luffy and Sanji, had really good 'Observation Haki'.

It made him a bit jealous since he hadn't figured it out, but Chopper hoped he could use it one day.

'For now, though, Zoro gave us the job of getting more information about Robin!! We can't let him down!!' Chopper thought to himself as a fire was lit in his eyes.

Bepo and Usopp sweat-dropped when they saw Chopper's determined look, while Robin just chuckled at him.

"Hahaha, you're cute. Your name is Chopper, right?" She asked, making Chopper blush and look away, knowing if he let the praise go to his head like he usually did, he would be out of his chair, dancing with a massive smile on his face while denying everything she said.

The thought made Chopper's face burn a brighter red, making Robin look at him in amusement.

*AHEM*

Usopp cleared his throat when he saw Chopper embarrassed and Bepo not even paying attention.

"So, what are your specialties? For example, I'm a sniper, and Chopper's a doctor." Usopp asked, getting a hum from Robin.

"Hmm, if I had to say one thing..." She trailed off as Usopp leaned forward, praying to anyone listening that she would be at least somewhat normal, but knowing that was already too much to ask for.

"Assassination."

"LUFFY, SHE'S TOO DANGEROUS!!!" Usopp shouted up to his Captain as he shot out of his chair and ran over to the front of the deck, making Luffy laugh from his spot on Levi's head.

"Shishishishi!!! That's perfect!! Danger means adventure!!"

*SIGH*

Usopp slumped down and let out a resigned sigh. He slowly walked back over to where Robin and Chopper still were, and he looked at Robin with dead eyes before letting out another sigh.

*SIGH*

"If you're going to kill me, please do it painlessly while I'm asleep." The sniper said in a dead tone before going toward his workshop to try and distract himself from what he just learned.

"What the hell is that?!"

The three looked over to where they heard a surprised shout and saw Nami staring at the sky in horror. They all followed her line of sight to see a massive thundercloud that seemed to form out of nowhere and a destroyed pirate ship that was falling out of the sky.

"Uh, Robin?" Nami said in a scared, shaky voice as she looked upward at the falling ship

"Yes?" Robin responded calmly as she tilted her head while also looking at the ship.

"So, if there is a 'Sky Island', there are probably sky ships, right?" Nami asked, getting a nod from the archaeologist.

"Based on what we are looking at right now, I would say there are sky ships," Robin responded, making the horror on Nami's face grow for a few seconds before she just sighed in resignation.

*SIGH*

"Why do I expect my life to be normal?..."

*SPLASH*

When the ship crashed into the water, everyone who wasn't on the deck made their way out to see what the noise was. Luffy smiled wide and looked over at Law with stars in his eyes, which made the man sigh in annoyance as he could tell what his Captain wanted before he even said it.

*SIGH*

"Law, can you grab any cool stuff on that ship with your bubble?" Luffy asked in an excited tone, making the man scoff at him.

*SCOFF*

"Don't call it a bubble. I told you before, don't use me as transportation." He said angrily, but he still brought his hand out and formed a transparent, blue sphere under his palm.

"Room"

Law seemed to focus for a few seconds before he grabbed a pebble out of his pocket, lightly threw it up in the air, and flicked his index and middle fingers.

"Shambles"

The pebble switched places with an old map that looked like it was falling apart. Luffy immediately grabbed it before Law could with stars in his eyes. Those stars shined much brighter when he read the label on the map.

"Look!! It says 'Skypiea'!! It's a map of 'Sky Island'!!" Luffy shouted out in excitement before he ran over to Nami and shoved it in her face, making her eyebrow twitch.

"Nami!! It's 'Sky Island'!! Go here now!!!" Luffy shouted, unable to calm his enthusiasm, which got him a smack to the back of his head.

*SMACK* "OWW!!!"

"How the hell am I supposed to navigate us into the sky?!" Nami shouted in outrage after punching the back of Luffy's head, making him shout out in pain. 

*SIGH*

Nami let out a sigh before looking at the 'Log Pose' on her wrist to check they were going the right way. She froze for a few seconds before shouting in alarm.

"What the hell!! Our 'Log Pose' is broken!!!" She shouted out, alarming everyone else as they turned to her.

They all knew without the 'Log Pose', they had no direction to go in.

Robin glanced over Nami's shoulder to see the 'Log Pose' was pointing straight up, which made her smile.

"It's not broken, it could be pointing up at a 'Sky Island'." She rationed calmly, calming Nami down in the process.

Before Nami could realize that Robin's response made no sense, and she was only calmed down by Robin's calm tone, the sky suddenly turned dark with a fog spread around them. They all slowly turned around and immediately froze.

"Hey guys, why don't we just turn around? I'm sure we could find another island..." Nami said in a shell-shocked tone, unable to process what she was seeing. 

Since everyone else was also more terrified than they had ever been, they didn't say how bad of an idea that was, but instead, straight ahead of them with nothing but horror all over their faces.

None of them could process the huge people they were looking at. There were three silhouettes of people with wings on their backs and spears in their hands that had to be at least fifty times the height of Dorry & Brogy.

Everyone was stuck trying to figure out what they were looking at and how to get themselves to move when Luffy suddenly snapped out of it and immediately scowled when he saw one of the massive figures start to raise their spear.

*SHNK*

"NO FEAR!! DON'T FUCK WITH MY CREW, YOU BIG ASSHOLES!!!"

The Straw Hats were woken from their stupor when they heard their Captain unsheathe his cutlass and scream at the top of his lungs.

The horror on their faces grew when they saw Luffy jump to the sheep figurehead before he launched himself straight at the massive silhouettes.

"DIVINE ONE-SWORD STYLE: DIVINE DEPARTURE!!!"

*FWOOOOOM*

Luffy's pupils shrunk when his attack went straight through the three silhouettes without any effect.

*BOOOOOOM*

The attack smashed into the surface of the water after traveling for a while. Before anyone could try any help, Luffy, the three large figures faded away just as the massive spear seemed to be about to hit the straw-hat-wearing teen from everyone else's perspective.

*BOOM* *SHNK*

Luffy landed back on the deck of the 'Going Merry' while sheathing his cutlass and looking in the direction the massive figures just were. After a few seconds, Nami spoke up in a dead tone.

"Why don't we go to that island over there?" Nami asked as she pointed at the horizon, making everyone look that way. They all saw a small, grassy island in the distance. 

Before they could leave, a ship sailed over to them, and they all looked over to see a guy who looked like he had eaten a monkey Zone-Type devil fruit with a pissed-off expression.

"Hey!! This is my turf!! You can't salvage where the 'Salvage King' does!!" The money man shouted out. Everyone complexity disregarded his shout as they tried to process what they were looking at.

"It's a monkey man."

"That guy looks like a monkey."

"Look, Chopper, he's a monkey-human like you!!"

"I'm a reindeer-human!!"

"You think his favorite food is bananas?"

The man who looked like a monkey suddenly blushed and started acting very bashful when he heard everyone talking about him looking like a monkey.

"Did you call me a monkey?" The man asked with a massive blush on his face, making most of them sweat-drop. Luffy, the only one who didn't, just laughed and answered his question.

"Shishishishi!! Yeah, you look just like a monkey." Luffy said, making the monkey man blush again.

"Well, I suppose I can forgive you this one time. Wait, you aren't even salvaging, who are you guys?" The monkey man asked once he realized he didn't know the group of pirates and that they weren't trying to take his precious sunken stuff.

"Hey, monkey guy, do you know how to get to 'Sky Island'?" Luffy asked, once again completely ignoring his question, making the man look at him in surprise. After a few seconds of looking at Luffy's face, the monkey man broke out in a massive grin and answered him.

"You wanna go to 'Sky Island'? Then, follow me!! I know a guy who knows everything you could about 'Sky Island'!!" The monkey man shouted out before he turned around and got his crew to start sailing towards the island in the distance. 

Luffy smiled when he saw that before he turned to Nami, who just sighed when she saw his excited look.

*SIGH*

"No, let's go dock at the port and then go over to where he's going. He's going to the other side of the island, so we can just sail around until we find him if we don't find anything about 'Sky Island' here. Does that sound good?" Nami set her condition that Luffy completely ignored as his head was filled with the fun they'll have at 'Sky Island'.

"Is there sky meat? Ooo, maybe sky fish? Are there sky pirates, too?"

*SIGH*

Nami just sighed in resignation when she saw he wasn't listening to her at all.

They docked at the port of the island, which was filled with countless pirate ships that had a bunch of pirates, all glaring at them. Before they could disembark the ship, Robin spoke up.

"I could do some information gathering if you want me to. It's one of my specialties, and I can get it done quickly so we don't have to get off here." Robin said. While a good amount of the Straw Hats were still suspicious of her and didn't seem to like the idea, they let up after Luffy smiled at her.

"Okay, just try and do it quick!! I wanna go to 'Sky Island' as fast as we can!!" Luffy bonded with a massive smile, making Robin laugh softly as she crossed her arms in front of her.

"Cuerpo Fleur"

They all watched in varying awe and surprise as a perfect clone of Robin appeared next to her.

They saw Robin and her clone nod at each other before the clone walked to the edge of the ship and jumped down onto the shore. They watched as the clone walked into the town that was probably crawling with pirates.

Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, and Bepo were looking at Robin with stars in their eyes.

"You're clones are awesome!! You're like a ninja!!" Luffy shouted out. Robin raised an eyebrow when she noticed every male crew member looking at her the moment Luffy said "Ninja".

*SLAP*

Nami slapped her forehead and let out a sigh when she saw that.

"What the hell is with you guys and ninjas? Stop being so dumb!!" She asked in a tired tone like she had dealt with this before, making all of the men on the ship look at Nami as if she asked what two plus two was. Luffy was the one who spoke up first.

"Ninjas are awesome, duh!!"

Luffy said enthusiastically, making Robin understand the looks she was getting. She thought it was because they were suspicious of her.

"Hahaha!!"

Everyone looked over when they heard Robin's soft laughter. They turned to her to see her sitting on the edge of the railing, looking at them in amusement.

"My clone got some info on someone named "Montblanc Cricket", someone who's infamous on the island for being a believer of 'Sky Island', who lives on the other side of the island. The problem is that there is a group called the 'Bellamy Pirates' that might interfere with us," Robin told everyone, making Luffy laugh.

"Shishishishi!! If they try to get in our way, I'll just get Zoro to beat them up. Or I'll do it if they piss me off."

*SNORT*

The swordsman in question snorted in amusement and nodded in response before going back to his nap. Luffy suddenly looked at Robin in surprise, making the woman raise an eyebrow.

"Didn't you just send out your clone a minute ago? How do you already know that?" Luffy asked, making everyone look at her curiously. She just showed a small smile before answering.

"My clones have access to my 'Hana Hana no mi' so they can sprout a bunch of eyes and ears across the entire island, the only reason it took as long as it did was because my clone needed to sort through all the information that it got," Robin explained.

She was going to say more, but she saw Luffy's confused face was completely red with smoke coming out of the top of his head, so she stopped to avoid frying her Captain's brain.

*SMACK* *SMACK* 

Luffy smacked his face a couple of times to forget the confusing stuff Robin had just talked about before he looked at Nami.

"Robin said the 'Sky Island' guy was on the other side of the island, right? Let's go there!!" Luffy said with a smile before he ran back to the front of the ship to tell Levi to pull them.

*SIGH*

Nami just sighed and started walking back towards her room.

"I'll leave it up to you idiots to get there."

With that, they left the port and started sailing towards the other side of the island where the 'Sky Island' guy should be.

After they left the port, a man with a large black hat, a long black cape, under which he wears a button-up, pale lavender shirt with loose sleeves, and simple black pants with his hand on the shoulder of a man with a large, tan-skinned, muscular man, with a broad upper body and wearing a dark brown mask on his face appeared on the docks they were just at.

The two men watched the Straw Hats sail away, the larger one with a large grin, while the smaller, skinnier man watched them go with a contemplative frown.

"They're stronger than I thought they would be." The smaller man said, making the large man laugh.

"Wehahaha!! Don't pussy out, Auger!! The weaklings won't cause us any problems, and the rest, Captain, can handle easily!!" The man mocked, making the now-named Auger roll his eyes as he put his hand on the big man's back.

"Let's go, Burgeus. Captain Teach is waiting for us." Auger said.

"Warp"

The Straw Hats found a large mansion on the edge of the island, where they found the ship of the two monkey men docked close by.

"Ooo, it's so cool!! That house is huge!!" Chopped shouted as he, Luffy, and Bepo all had stars in their eyes while looking at the massive house.

"I wonder what the other si-what the hell is that?" Luffy started as they sailed to its side, only to be completely stumped and annoyed by the fact that the massive house wasn't a massive house at all, it was just half a house. Sanji glanced over at Luffy before looking back at the shore.

"Luffy, I sense that monkey guy over there." The cook said, making his Captain smile wide.

"Me too!! Nami, let's dock here!!"

They docked the 'Going Merry', and as soon as they landed, Zoro immediately spoke up.

"I'll stay here and guard the ship."

*SNORE*

Everyone sweat-dropped at the swordsman, who was only awake for a maximum of twenty seconds before he fell right back asleep. Usopp was the one to speak up next.

"I'm also gonna stay here and see if I can figure out any new ammo while we have the free time," Usopp said, making everyone nod in understanding before turning to Law, sensing the man had something to say too, making the man roll his eyes.

"I'm staying here because I don't want to spend more time with you guys today. 'Room'."

Luffy pouted as Law's 'Room' expanded and covered the 'Going Merry', but before he could leave, Zoro snorted, making the doctor stop in his tracks.

*SNORT*

"You aren't the crew's doctor, you're the backup ship and easy transportation," Zoro said with a straight face, making Law glare at him and click his tongue in annoyance.

*Tsk*

"And you're lucky I don't wanna fight right now. Shambles"

Zoro smirked and laid down to go back to sleep, but before he could, everyone saw not one, but two guys that looked like they ate a monkey Zone-Type devil fruit walking towards them.

"I am 'Salvage King' Masira!!" The monkey man they met earlier shouted out while striking a pose that his friend copied.

"And I am 'Sonar King' Shoujou!!"

"And we are the Salvage Kings!!"

Everyone just deadpanned at the two. Well, almost everyone.

"Shishishishi!! You guys are hilarious!! You were on that ship he was on when we met him earlier, right?" Luffy laughed before asking Shoujou, to which the monkey man nodded and responded.

"That's right. Come in here with us, the guy who knows about 'Sky Island' lives here. Why didn't you follow us before?" Masira asked as he gestured to the building behind him.

"Do you have food?" Luffy completely ignored their question.

Once everyone was inside the house, they could see a buff man with a chestnut-like growth on the top of his head lying down on the couch in the living room of the house. Luffy immediately burst out laughing.

"Shishishishi!! What's up with that peanut on your head?!" Luffy asked through his laughter, making the man's eyebrow twitch.

"It's a chestnut, asshole!! Who the hell are you people anyway?!" The man shouted out in an angry tone before asking Masira, who answered right away.

"These guys said they wanna go to 'Sky Island', boss." He said, making the man in bed perk up and look at the pirates in his house in a new light.

"I see, sorry for being disrespectful earlier. The story goes a bit like this..." Cricket trailed off as he sat up. Luffy immediately tuna mouth as he could tell it was going to be a very long and very boring story.

"The story of Noland the Liar goes that while exploring the 'Grand Line' hundreds of years ago, Noland came across a 'City of Gold'. He returned to his home and informed the king, who accompanied him on the next journey to the island. However, when they reached the island, the 'City of Gold' was gone. Angered, the king sentenced him to death for lying." Cricket told them all. He continued when he saw none of them were ridiculing him for the story.

"To his last breath, Noland claimed that he was telling the truth and proclaimed that the City of Gold must have sunk underwater. However, no one would believe him, and he was executed." Cricket told them, and before they could ask what the point of the story was, he continued.

"As it turns out, I am a descendant of Noland, and I'm trying to prove whether the 'City of Gold' exists or not by diving into the ocean every day to search for evidence." The man explained the story's significance, making most of the Straw Hats nod understandingly. 

Chopper, on the other hand, was not understanding at all.

"That's a cool story, but you're going to kill yourself if you keep diving down into the water! I'm honestly surprised you haven't died yet!! That's not even mentioning this bruising and cracked ribcage. Law, can you use your 'Scan' on him?" Chopper asked his fellow doctor, even though the patient immediately disregarded his concern. Before Law could answer, Cricket spoke up.

"Hahahaha!! Don't worry about me, little reindeer, I'll be fine. I know my body well." The man laughed and dismissed the doctor's concerns. He looked over at Luffy and sweat-dropped at what he saw.

*SNORE* *SNORE*

*SIGH*

Nami let out a sigh before she stood up and walked over to where Luffy was sitting/sleeping. She got right next to his ear and took a deep breath.

*INHALE*

"WAKE UP, LUFFY!!!" "AHH!!"

Luffy woke up with a scream of fright, but after a few seconds of rapidly scanning his surroundings, he looked at Cricket and grinned, The man matched it with his own.

"So, you want to go to 'Sky Island', huh? I suppose you gotta be as crazy as you are to try and get there." Cricket said, making Luffy laugh.

"Shishishishi, Yeah!! I'm gonna go find 'Sky Island' and that 'City of Gold' too!!" Luffy said in an excited, infectious tone. Everyone sweat-dropped at him again.

'How the hell did he hear about the 'City of Gold' if he was asleep?' That was what everyone was thinking, but they all figured it was a question that did not need answering.

Luffy suddenly became serious, making everyone else follow his lead. He glanced down at Cricket's stomach before he looked back up at the man with furrowed eyebrows. 

"Old man, what happened to you? You don't break your ribs going swimming." Luffy asked, making Cricket sigh in response.

"You shouldn't concern yourself with that, young man. For now, let me tell you about something called the 'Knock-Up Stream'."

"What do you mean?" A man asked into the microphone of a 'Transponder Snail' in a nervous voice. The voice on the other side of the snail scoffed.

*SCOFF*

"You heard me. Don't provoke 'Straw Hat' Luffy. If you do, you'll die." The voice said in absolute certainty, making the man break out in a nervous sweat.

*GACHA*

Before the nervous man could say anything, the line was cut off. 

*INHALE* *EXHALE*

The man took a deep breath to calm his racing heart before looking over to the man on his right.

"What the hell are we gonna do, Sarqiuss?" The now-named Sarqiuss looked at the man in confusion.

"What the hell do you mean, Bellamy? We're gonna stay the fuck out of 'Straw Hat' Luffy's way." Sarquiss said it like it was the simplest thing in the world. The man flinched when the now-named Bellamy suddenly grabbed him by the shoulders roughly.

"No, dumbass, we already did get in his way!! 'Straw Hat' Luffy and his crew are at that idiot Cricket's house!!" Bellamy shouted, making Sarquiss' face pale in horror

"Holy shit!! We just took that gold from him earlier today!! If that old man becomes their friend and tells 'Straw Hat' about us, we're so fucked!!" The man said as Bellamy let go of his shoulders to start biting his nails to try and calm his nerves.

"Even if we give the gold back, we still beat the hell out of that guy..." He muttered, making Sarqiuss snap out of his rambling. 

"We are so fucked!!!"
