Life Of A Marine (Part 1)

Today I just got fired from my job meaning Im fucked right now. And school opens for me pretty soon as well. This means Im not gonna have time to write chapters every day like I'm right now.

So I decided to set up a {Patre on} which somehow makes me feel like a scumbag. I haven't decided on how Im making this work so far yet. And that {Patre on} isn't fully set up. I think I launch it after I post around 30 chapters or so. Btw if you're going to support me please make me have the extra money.

Tranquil Island- Morning

(3rd's Pov)

Today was the assigned day Admiral Sengoku would head back to Marineford. Thus the day Drake would leave the West Blue for the first time in his life. It took a while for Sengoku to arrest all the marine captains charged with corruption.

They were 15 officers in total who were arrested due to corruption and several other crimes. They were to be brought to Impel Down where it will be their home for the rest of their levels.

For the marines, it was a good thing that none of them affected the lives of citizens of the islands they were stationed on to protect. Otherwise, the reputations of the marines would have gone to zero. And this time it wasn't the fault of the World Government for once. The marines made sure this stayed under wraps.

(Drake's Pov)

As I boarded the large battleship, I saw 15 marines getting tied up the ship's mast. It was mostly done to shame them and punish them since I heard Sengoku wanted to kill them all.

But didn't since he wanted all of them to face proper justice. I guess that's the difference between Sengoku and Akainu. If Akainu was here, no doubt he would have killed all of them for shaming the marines.

As I was about to be shown around the battleship and my room, I saw Sengoku board the ship. He walked in with all his glory and prestige as I could feel a powerful aura radiate from him. The most powerful aura I sensed in my whole life. Everyone saluted including me as he ordered everyone to their post as the ship started sailing.

Finally, I was being shown around the ship and where my room was. As I was being told of the various rooms and their purpose, I asked about how the ship can sail through the calm belt. I needed to know if the WG already arrested Vegapunk and made him head of the scientific division.

" Kid, this is the result of 60 years of research done by the science division. It's their proudest work or so the division says."

"As for why this battleship could sail through the calm belt is due to the ship's bottom is coated with seastones. And the ship is equipped with advanced paddle-wheels."

The marine officer who was showing me around explained.

" I see, thank you for the explanation. I never heard about a ship being able to sail through the calm belt before." I said to the officer with a smile on my face as we reached that room which will be my room for the next couple of days.

We went back to the main deck of the ship since I told the marine I wanted to watch the sea. Watching the waves sort of calms me down and the calm sea helps me better think.

As I was flexing my right arm which healed fully yesterday, I heard someone walking behind me. As I turned I saw Sengoku standing next to me.

" Admiral Sengoku-sama what are you doing here? I asked him as I did a salute. I wasn't sure what to exactly call him so I used the honorifics fitting someone of his prestige.

" You don't have to be so formal with me, just Sengoku-san is fine."

Sengoku said with a small smile at me as we started talking. As I told him about my past and how my mom and brother died due to pirates. Eventually, Sengoku started talking about himself as well.

" You see I became a bounty hunter around the same as you. Although at the time I wasn't thinking about joining the marines like you. It just happened that Marineford took notice of me and sent an Admiral to recruit me."

" And since then I once haven't regretted joining the marines. And I'm sure you won't either."

" But I have been wondering about how you managed to learn the rokushiki and haki?" Sengoku asked me. I was already prepared for this if anyone asked how I learned them.

" For both haki and rokushiki, I only learned about them after Commdore Ethan told them to me. But to be honest I accidentally learned how to do some of the rokushiki moves when I was a kid."

This was kinda true as I learned Soru and Geppo by accident while I was fighting against the ape and some of the other animals.

" As for haki I only awakened conqueror's haki after I witness the death of my family and shortly after that I was able to use armament haki as I was trying to master my sword."

I explained to him as I told him how exactly I learned each move exactly and what I did. Sengoku took the explanation as some of the rokushiki techniques can be accidentally learned. He even learned Geppo by mistake when he was experimenting with his devil fruit powers.

Sengoku-san explained how some superhuman beings can accidentally learn some of the Rokushiki if they are strong enough. He even told me a story about how a pervert learned Geppo to run away from an island filled with transvestite.

'It's the exact same thing Sanji did to learn moonwalk.' I thought as Sengoku continued about the story.

" Say, Sengoku-san did you ever fight against the Madman Roger and the World Ender Newgate?" I asked him since I was pretty curious about it.

In the manga, Roger said, " Bring Garp or Sengoku if you want to catch me". So it makes me think they fought a couple of times. And to me, it looked like Sengoku was what Garp was to Roger. After all their abilities counter each other perfectly so it makes sense.

( By the way, Madman Roger is that current epithet of Roger since he isn't the pirate king at this moment. And Drake got Roger's bounty poster from Ethan as he asked for a list of people with the highest bounties. And their bounty posters as well.)

" Don't get me started on those two. Edward Newgate is fine as you can reason with him. But Roger is the complete opposite. He won't listen to others and lately, some of the things he has been doing have alarmed the WG." Sengoku-san as his eyes glistened for a second.

" But to answer your question I did fight both of them several times. But my main target is Newgate as Garp won't allow anyone other than him to arrest Roger." Sengoku said to me as he told me about the crazy fights he had with Whitebeard and how they sunk every island every time they fought.

As we kept talking, I noticed how I could no longer feel the wind blowing. Hell, there weren't even any ocean currents as the ship relied on its paddle wheels to move.

" Welcome to the calm belt, kid," Sengoku said to me noticing my confusion. He explained what the calm belt was. As the ship continued sailing, I noticed Sengoku-san looking around for a minute before noticing something.

" EVERYONE PREPARE FOR BATTLE."

Sengoku yelled out as a large Sea King jumped out of the waters. The sea king was around 3000 meters tall. It looked around in confusion before it noticed us.

The Sea King started coming towards the ship but before it could reach us, Sengoku leaped towards it as his right arm turned dark black with some kind of orange bubbly aura surrounding it.

As Sengoku's fist made connected with the Sea King's head, there was a burst of red lightning the moment Sengoku punched it. The Sea King was bleeding from both outside and inside its head as it fell back to the ocean.

' This is the power of someone at the very peak of strength in this world.' I thought as I watched what a single punch of Sengoku did.

( Note: In the power ranking, I made Sengoku right below yonko level which is something I forget to fix. Sengoku is strong as a yonko from what we learned about him now. I gotta fix the power ranking as I messed up some things in it.)

Lmao, I just read some of the comments on the part where I said the marines still had enough power to defeat Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates. I started a whole war over that it but let me just explain my reasoning really quick before this chapter. You don't have to read this part.

Garp and Sengoku barely fought, they still had all of their stamina. Those two may not be in their primes anymore but they are more than strong enough to fight any yonkos for several days. During Marineford I have Garp above Admiral level along with Sengoku as well.

Next, you got the three admirals which are more than enough to wipe out the crew members of shanks and shanks himself as well. Akainu nearly ended all of the lives of the Whitebeard division commanders by himself after taking a gura punch from a pissed-off Whitebeard. He maybe was running of stamina but not likely since all top-tier characters can fight for like 10 days. Next, you got Kizaru, the man barely tried in the war.

People saw one clip of Beckman where he told Kizaru to raise his hands and they think he's admiral level. Kizaru does not give an fuck about any yonko commanders. He attacked Luffy right in front of Beckman and he did nothing. Hell, Beckman at best is around the same level as Marco. He's not some kind of legend like Rayleigh at best he's maybe the strongest yonko commander.

Next, you got Aokiji whose strong enough to body any yonko commanders and fight against any yonkos as well. If that isn't enough then you got the top-tier Vice Admirals.

They are strong enough to fight against the weaker yonko commanders together. Even more, marines can call in reinforcement from the World Government. The marines had more than enough firepower to fight or even defeat the Red Hair Pirates during the Marineford war.

If that isn't enough, you got the warlords. You got Doffy, Hancock, Kuma who imo are all around top-tier yonko commanders around the same level as Cracker maybe or higher. Then you got fucking Mihawk as well. Who imo is a little stronger than Shanks but let just say he's at the same level as Shanks. Which is more than enough firepower to wipe the Red Hair Pirates.

Even if the Red Hair pirates are the strongest yonko crew, it won't matter against 3 yonko level characters and several top-tier admirals. And Shanks isn't some fucking like god-like people think he is. At best he's like the second strongest Yonko behind Kaido right now. Hell, I even say Big Mom is equal to him.
