I loved to read books in my previous life. To immerse in a world of fantasy full of mysteries beyond the common knowledge of earth was one of the things I enjoyed the most. I read every book I could find and read every manga that the internet offered.
Maybe I wanted to flee the boring life in my true world. I wasn't someone smart in my school, but I wasn't dumb either. I was the typical normal guy, with no talent to claim my own, but also talented enough to live a normal live without being poor.
Life does not go always the way we plan. After my 25th birthday was the end of my road on earth. I had cancer, and after three months, I died.
The world was unfair to me, but the gods gave me another chance.
I never believed in god. The world was cruel and there was no sympathy. Humans on earth could live in organized civilizations, but it took them several thousands years of war and slaughter before earth could stand in this peaceful era of the 21st century.
Now I was transported to a new world. Who knows how it will be in this world?
I hoped it would be a world like in my mangas and books. A world full of mystery and adventure. God did not disappoint me in this aspect.
After I was born into my new body, the first years were really annoying. With the memory of my past life and the body of a newborn child, it was truly difficult.
My mother was a beautiful young woman, merely 20 years old, younger than me in my previous life and that was strange feeling. We lived in a beautiful house with many servants. This meant that my mother was really rich or the daughter of some noble house.
The problem was the character of this new mother. She was not a gentle and loving mother, she was cold and arrogant. I was happy that I made it in my first two years with the little amount of food and love she gave me. I'm really lucky that I have the mindset of a full grown man thanks to my memories of my past live. A normal child would never survive under this uncaring mother.
The biggest affection my mother gave me was a fist on my head on my third birthday. And I tell you, in this slim and elegant body of my mother hides a massive amount of strength. First I doubted if Monkey D. Garp ate a devil fruit that could turn him into a girl or if his mother met Ivankov in a journey and was in reality a brutal pirate full of muscles and strength.
I did not know which world this was until a special day when I was two years old. The newspaper that my mom brought home shocked me so much that I wanted to shout impolite words, but I suppressed this urge because I was still a two years old kid.
Every article in this newspapers described scenes about marines, criminal pirates, the affects of a bad man named Gol D. Roger... This could only be one world.
Fu*k! I reincarnated in the world of One Piece!
Don't misunderstand me. I was a big fan of One Piece in my previous life. This manga was truly good, with a very good world building and cool characters.
But…
This world is hell for a normal little guy like me!
Think about it. This is the era of pirates. Not only are there brutal criminals everywhere, the marines and world government were even worse. Let's not even start about the world nobles, these guys are a walking disaster.
I am not like this power bundle named Monkey D. Luffy, with Garp as my grandfather and Dragon as my father. I'm just a normal guy with no special abilities. Hell, I couldn't even beat the bullies in my high school time, how can I compete against these badasses that roam this world?
When you read a novel, the mc always had an advantage, something that made them different from the rest. A gamer like system, a bloodline from another universe, or an op devil fruit. But I have nothing.
The next year was the most depressing time of my two lives. Sh*t, any moment a brutal criminal could enter the door and end this little life of mine, only because Roger had to cause such a big scene on his last day.
I thought about all possibilities of my future. My only advantage was my knowledge of the manga. But having knowledge and no power to change even a little event in this world was more frustrating than having no knowledge at all.
I thought about joining the straw hats, because my age was not that different than Luffys, but I dismissed this idea because this rubber brain was a magnet for live threatening situations and I didn't want to make Usopp the second weakest character in this crew for the sole reason that I joined them.
But on my fourth birthday everything changed. A middle aged men entered the little house where my beautiful mother and I lived and shocked me out of my little shoes.
This men wore the clothes of the people I did not want to see at all in this world. Anybody could recognize them because only one sort of people could wear these cloths.
A celestial dragon!
What shocked me even more was what my mother said after this middle aged men entered the house.
„So you found me, father"
What? So my mother is the daughter of this celestial dragon? I am the son of my mother. That means this guy is my grandfather. That means…
