Two years later

2 years later. East Blue.

"AHHH! I WANT TO GO HOME!"

A girl that had orange hair was screaming.

"Oh come on, how long can you scream? We are arriving in a couple of minutes. Isn't it fun?"

"No! This isn't funny at all!", answered the girl.

A huge serpent-like monster was flying above the sea with tremendous speed. His destination was Foosha Village.

"Gible! Gib, Gible, Gible!", said a little ball-like dragon that was clearly amused by this situation. It was fun to ride his new friend.

The huge Pokemon they were riding was a water-flying type. It looked like a blue Chinese dragon and was the perfect Pokemon for a guy who was dropped into the One Piece world with a bunch of Pokemon.

It was Gyarados.

And riding on top of it were Luffy, Gible and the new navigator of his crew: Nami.

It was a long journey for Luffy to finally have this Gyarados as a mount. It was the perfect partner for him. It could fly, it could swim, it was huge, and it was a water Pokemon. Those water types were a cheat in this world full of water. He opened his Pokédex and looked at Gyarados.

[Gyarados

Atrocious Pokémon

Once it begins to rampage, a Gyarados will burn everything down, even in a harsh storm.

Gender: Male

Nature: Jolly

Ability: Moxie (This Pokemon's Attack is raised by 1 stage if it attacks and knocks out an enemy.)

Level: 24

Attacks: Bite, Dragon Rage, Bubblebeam, Leer, Bounce]

Luffy teared up a little bit after seeing this status. All this while he was stuck with a Magikarp, and this guy was so useless Luffy couldn't even find words for it. But now, finally, he evolved and transformed into this blue Chinese dragon.

Luffy was so happy, he had to beat someone up with his new monster and the one that was on the next island was a poor guy named Arlong. So he decided he would get his navigator ahead of time and here they are.

It was easy to convince Nami. He was the hero of her village after all and then he showed Nami his maps on the Pokedex. That was all he needed to convince his new navigator. He wasn't a Pirate and that made it easy for her to decide.

Luffy didn't know if Gyarodos could truly fly, in the anime, it was never seen. He was relieved after he saw that Gyarados didn't have the flying type only for the show, he could swim and fly, so he was the perfect mount for now. A powerful one at that.

The huge snake-like monster finally arrived in Foosha Village, in front of Makino's bar. The Pokemon caused an uproar in this small village, but after they saw who was riding it, they calmed down.

Luffy landed with Nami on the ground, but Gible didn't land on his feet and stumbled. Even after all these years, this guy was still clumsy. Powerful, but clumsy.

Makino came out of the bar and noticed Luffy. She had to look twice to recognize the boy who now looked more like a man. He was a little bit taller than two meters. Luffy hoped that this was the end for him, but he was still seventeen, so everything was possible.

"Luffy, finally you are here. Your girlfriend was waiting for you for over a week. Damn it, this girl is always smoking. I can't smell that smoke anymore!"

Nami narrowed her eyes after hearing about the 'girlfriend' of her new partner.

"That's not my girlfriend, Makino. She's my crewmate, her name is Hina."

"After all those days I learned her name, Luffy. She says her name every time when she talks about herself."

Luffy laughed and Nami was relieved.

The pink-haired beauty walked out of the bar, this time she didn't wear her marine uniform.

"Vice-admiral Garp gave me the mission to watch over his grandson. Hina is here to take up on that responsibility. The goal is to bring Monkey D. Luffy to the headquarter. Hina is happy to see you again, Luffy."

Luffy laughed out loud.

"Girl, don't make up excuses. Did you run away?"

"Hina asked for a holiday."

"You are so bad at lying. Well, I'm happy to see you. Did you see Ain, too?"

"Hina didn't see Ain. Hina thinks it's impossible for Ain to come. She is too loyal to Zephyr-Sensei."

Luffy just smiled at that.

"This is our navigator, Hina. Her name is Nami."

Both of them greeted each other.

"Alright guys, let's invite every villager to the bar. I want a huge party as my farewell. Tomorrow is finally the start of my real journey."

Luffy put a huge bundle of Beli on the table.

"LUFFY!", Nami shouted in shock. „How can you spend so much money? They have to pay for themselves. From today on, I will watch over our money!"

"Come on Nami, don't be stingy. Today is a special day."

After a while, the whole village was drunk, singing and dancing and having a fun time.

The mayor, usually a serious guy, was drunk, too. He looked at Luffy with tears in his eyes.

"Luffy, my boy. Will you end up like your two stupid brothers as a pirate? I thought you were different. I thought you will give our village a good reputation!"

"Old Mayor, who said I wanted to be a pirate? I will adventure the world and make Foosha Village famous. Believe me."

The mayor started to cry tears of joys.

"Finally, my wish is coming true!"

Then he ran to the other villagers and yelled.

"Did you hear that? Luffy my boy will make this village famous! And not because he is a criminal! I knew he was a good child since he was little. More intelligent than any child his age. I am like a grandfather to him! His stupid old man left him while he was a toddler, all alone. It's because of me that he turned out this way!"

The villagers all laughed out loud. They never saw their mayor this happy.

They all stopped laughing because someone punched a hole into the wall. The figure of a very masculine woman entered the bar, behind her back was a bunch of bandits.

"LUFFY!", screamed Dadan, the adoptive mother of Luffy.

"You can't leave me alone with those fools! Please come back with me to the mountain, we, we…."

All the villagers looked at her and then they started to laugh.

"Haha! Even the mountain bandits are more lovable after they lived with Luffy!"

Dadan was embarrassed, the fierce reputation she built up over the years was gone in seconds.

Hina smiled at this scene.

"So Luffy lived with mountain bandits? That's strange if you consider his grandfather is a marine hero."

Makino sighed at that.

"Well, Garp personally dropped him there. Luffy was living here alone since he was a little child."

Hina smiled, interested in the history of her new captain.

In some corner was a little dragon named Gible. He was surrounded by a bunch of children who were starring at him with stars shining in their eyes.

"A dragon!"

"A real dragon!"

"He does look more like a ball…"

"But he's a dragon!"

Gible looked proud and showed the children his awesomeness. Then he stumbled and rolled on the ground like a bowling ball. All of his awesomeness was gone.

Outside of the Bar stood a beautiful girl with blue hair. She heard all of their conversations and couldn't help but smile at this heartwarming scene. She didn't know when she smiled in such a way the last time.

"So he grew up with mountain bandits? I new Vice-Admiral Garp was… unique, but that…"

Ain arrived on this island a couple of days ago. She wanted to see the island that gave birth to such a mysterious person like Luffy and to tell the truth, she didn't expect that it was such a strange island.

In Foosha Village was everything fine, but she visited the Goa Kingdom and that was a unique experience. She saw the most beautiful country in the East Blue, but she also saw the Grey Terminal and all the terrible things that are normal on this island. Luffy's words were always ringing in her head.

"You have to judge the situation with your own eyes, huh", she said, slowly understanding the wisdom he said to her two years ago.

She had to remember the conversation with Zephyr-Sensei she had a while ago.

…..

One year in the past. Marine Headquarter.

Zephyr was looking towards his student, Ain. She was different, he noticed. A thoughtful expression always on her face. When he heard the reason she was different, she told him of an interesting name. A young brat named Monkey D. Luffy.

Ain told Zephyr everything she knew about him. He had power at a young age with potential that nobody could fathom, a strange little dragon always by his side. His Observation Haki was so strong that nothing escaped his senses, and Garp bragged about the fact that his grandson had this Haki since he was six years old. What impressed Zephyr the most was, that this little brat was so strong without a devil fruit. All of his power was the result of his hard work.

After she told her sensei about his last speech, even Zephyr had to think about his own view of this world. It wouldn't change his opinion about pirates, but Zephyr was not stupid and knew that the brat said many true things.

If you were an admiral once, then you have seen the cruel side of this organization called the World Government. The only thing that let him believe in his justice was the fact that he thought pirates were even crueler than the World Government. But Zephyr never thought about the fact why there were so many pirates in the first place. What was the reason so many pirates appeared in the last century? He knew the answer, even if he didn't like to admit it.

"Zephyr-Sensei", said Ain respectfully. "Why do you think he doesn't want to come to the headquarter? I understood all the things he said to me, but I have a feeling that there is something he didn't tell me about."

"Oh, the intuition of a woman is the scariest thing in this world", said Zephyr with a sorrowful expression. He had to think about his late wife, her intuition was like the one of Ain.

"What I tell you now, you can't tell anyone else."

He looked at his desk where all the wanted posters were laying. He picked one up and handed it towards his student.

"Monkey D. Dragon, the most wanted man in the world", said Ain, confused. "Monkey D… Don't tell me…"

"Yes, he is the father of that brat. His father is the most wanted man in the world."

Ain was shocked for a moment.

"But… His grandfather is a marine hero, he…"

"Do you remember when I told you about the search for Gol D. Roger's unborn son?"

Ain nodded, she realized everything now.

"But he didn't do a crime, only because of his father…"

Zephyr sighed and looked out of the window.

"It doesn't matter. If the world government knows about this brat, he will be chased all over the world. He didn't do anything wrong, that's right, but he is the son of the most dangerous man. They would kill him."

Ain had to think about the little girl from Ohara. Wasn't her situation the same? No wonder he had so much sympathy for her.

"Ain", said Zephyr, bringing her out of her train of thoughts.

"What do you think about this brat?"

"I… Zephyr-Sensei…"

"Tell me the truth."

"I…", she had to take a deep breath before she continued. "I want to see what he can achieve. I want to see if he said the truth. I want to judge this world with my own eyes and make my own opinion."

"Go.", he said, a small smile on his face.

"But Zephyr-Sensei, I can not leave you. I…"

"Go and follow that brat. This is an order. And if this brat turns out to be an evil one, then your sensei will come in person to bring you back."

"Sensei…", Ain had tears in her eyes. She bowed for a long time. She took a last look at her sensei before she walked away.

"The world isn't black and white, huh", Zephyr looked out of the window, thinking about this brat. "Nothing in this world is completely good or bad."

He stood there silent for a couple of minutes. Then he started to smile. Since the incident with the pirates all those years ago, he knew that his student was full of sorrow and never smiled. Something in that brat did change her, and that made him happy. He was her teacher, he wished her only the best.

"I can't believe this brat is the offspring of this idiot Garp. I have to see this little bastard personally. He charmed my little student away from me."
