Chapter 17: The Red Ruby

"When are we going to have a student exchange event happen?". A lady asked softly. 

She is Elise, one of the Margareta Academy's gratifications, Ellise Scarlet.

"After the autumn festival, ma'am". Another girl was reading her book. "We'll be exchanging with Oglourine Academy".

That's Holly Chisel, Elise's bodyguard, she's also a student of Margareta Academy. 

"Interesting". Elise stared deeply into her glass of wine.

Margareta Academy is known for their violence and extraordinary high battle score, while Oglourine Academy is known for their integrity and intelligence. 

After 2 months of exchanging students, there will always be a tournament between 2 Academies every year. They will pick out their most talented students to fight against each other, except for Student Council people, these cannot join, they can only observe.

"Elise, free time is over, come back to practice". A girl instantly opened the door.

"Comin' ". Said Elise. She drank all the wine, even the very last drop. "Slow down, Beatrix".

"Today we have a special practice". The girl took off her glasses, this is Bestrix, she is the Supporter of Elise's team. "I heard that it is the preparation for the student exchange event upcoming". 

Beatrix is intelligently gorgeous, also a strong one too. Her Supporter type is Controller and Strategist. Yes, she has an uncommon long attack range, that's why she can watch the whole battle, plan out the next move, and assist her allies. Her ability is Amethyst Lightning. Most Supporters in Margareta Academy don't heal. They attack and annoy enemies.

Elise is an alluring young lady, she has crimson eyes, clear light skin, and red velvet hair. It's not dyed, the appearance comes from her bloodline, the Scarlet Family. Her family is the most loyal family that has been worshiping the God of Blood River for a long time. Eztli, the Blood Serpent, the God of the Blood River. For the loyalty of Elise's family, he blessed them with the ability of manipulating blood and the Sanguinex Bracelet. 

The Sanguinex Bracelet will only let the wearer use it once the contract between 2 of them are signed. Once signed, taking it off means taking their life away. To establish a contract with the Sanguinex Bracelet, you have to be bloodthirsty and tyrannical enough for it to accept as a master. Or else it will lock itself, won't allow you to activate the supreme power of the Red River. But activating the Sanguinex Bracelet will consume a quantity of the wearer's blood, it's the cost that you have to pay.

To prove her strength to the Sanguinex Bracelet, Elise had to risk her life in the battle with a Denro Wyvern when she was 12. Thankfully, she was alive and succeeded. Elise is a resilient girl, she never gives up until she achieves it. 'I see it, I like it, I take it' is her slogan.

As Elise steps out of Academy, heads straight to the stadium of Margareta Academy. She walks like a queen is heading her own throne. People that she walks pass by bow to her greatness. Her name is Elise Scarlet, the blade of Margareta Academy.

"I'm here Mr. Thomson, what are we doing for now?". Elise talked to her Coach.

"The Principal told me to prepare an epic fight for you". Mr. Thomson spoke. "He wants to see what you can do".

"Is he questioning my battle score?!". Elise was trying to remain calm. She hates people who dare to doubt her power.

"I don't know". Mr. Thomson shrugged. "He said that you'll have to fight against a real monster that he captured when he was in the mountain of Chalcedony Shrine". 

"Bring it on". Elise fixed her hair. "Let me crush it within seconds".

"It's the guardian of the forest, The Saber Wyvern". Mr. Thomson stamped on the ground.

A huge cage slowly rises up from the deep ground of the stadium. The squeal of danger is waiting to be released. 

The Saber Wyvern, it is as large as a 2 floors building, its scales are green as forest leaves, it has bat wings, and a sharp shiny blade at the end of its tail. Saber Wyvern's weakness is within its bosom, the heart of Verdant Stone. 

"Open the cage". Elise commanded coldly.

The technologist presses the button, the cage disappears like it never exists. 

"EEEEEEHHHHH" - The creature screamed and flew away. It hit the electric ceiling of the stadium and fell down. 

"You mere mortals, how dare you!" - The Saber Wyvern growled. "I'm angry!".

"Sanguinex Bracelet". Elise transformed. "Consume my blood". A bloody red armour covered her whole body. Elise held a thin long sword in her hand still. Her eyes lightened glowly. 

Beatrix and Holly were sitting in the scaffold of the stadium.

"Fighting against a celestial creature, was it too much for Elise?". Holly asked.

"Don't be overprotective like that, she's not a little girl anymore". Beatrix bit her snack. "She is strong enough to defeat it". 

"Okay, but I'm still worried about her, still, a little bit". Holly was watching the Saber Wyvern nervously. 

"She'll be fine". Beatrix handed Holly a piece of pie. "Now, have a bite and enjoy the show". 

Holly received it and started eating.
