Noble Emblem

A young Brave walked out of his village, gathered companions to his side, defeated the Great Demon King, became famous, then came back with beauties in hand! This was a legend that appears in the world of Seyrol every 200 years! Our protagonist, however, isn’t a Brave. Even so, for over a thousand years his figure has loomed throughout its history. Unwittingly, the name of the Red Priest began to resound throughout the world. Red Priest’s legend included extraordinary sword techniques and magic, erudite knowledge, and an almost prophetic ability to lead young Braves toward the proper path. People of the world think of him as a descendent of the ancient Golden Race which led to his omnipotence. In essence, however, this was just the characteristics of the profession known as ‘Noble’. A word from the fabulousest translator/editor on Earth which is me I took upon this translation/editing project for the same reason I started translating my first Chinese novel. There are just too many big ass gems buried in a deep cesspool. I've long guessed that Qidian stopped introducing good Chinese novels on this platform in order to give some breathing room for English (and other) originals, but I don't agree with such approach. From a reader's standpoint, it is such a shame that we don't even know how many brilliant works we are missing because of the language barrier. To be honest, I'm mainly copypasting from the site called Novelhi. It is a really good resource and their machine translation is the best I've seen so far, and they also translate up to the latest available chapter. Still, they have several issues. For some reason they always miss the last paragraph which make you can missout on a potentially very important information related to a story, and they also have parts where just a couple of words gets repeated for a whole paragraph and it actually replaces the original text. They also translate an ad together with a chapter which is immersion breaking. I'll be correcting the inherent sins of such MTL with manual editing and translation and I will also polish some rough edges so that the readers will have as much seemless reading experience as possible. You will definitely have a better time reading this than me for sure

Alice

Beta was speechless. She was already 170 years old, yet she had just reached adulthood … Although he knew that the elves lived a long time and that puberty was completely different from that of humans, he couldn't help but sigh after hearing this. The Creator really cared too much about the strength of the elves.

With their long lives, they almost never got sick, and they were almost freakishly talented in magic and archery. The only race on the surface that could be stronger than them was the giant dragons.

In Grinton's study, the two chatted for a while, and they didn't leave until the banquet was about to begin.

This time, Grinton had sent out invitations. Anyone with a bit of reputation in Bronze Drum City was invited. Not only did Beta see Ceasar, but he also saw Claude. Of course, these two also saw Beta. They politely greeted Beta with a smile, as if nothing had happened two months ago.

As the main character, Alice, wore a white gauze dress and a grassy princess crown … Generally speaking, only real princesses could wear a princess crown, but if the crown was made of grass and only worn on the birthday, no one would cause any trouble, because it was a rule in itself.

She had a happy smile on her face, but her eyes were looking in another direction of the venue, full of resentment.

Following her gaze, Beta saw Kail. Beside Kail, there was Barbara, who had an excellent figure and temperament, but was only good-looking.

No wonder she looked like that. Beta finally understood why Alice was unhappy. She must have only invited Kail to the banquet, but she didn't expect that Kail would bring Barbara as well.

On such an occasion, it was normal for the guests to bring their relatives along.

Then, after Grinton made a speech, the banquet began.

Although this banquet was for Alice, she wasn't the most eye-catching person in the banquet, but Shirley was.

This beautiful woman with a cold face attracted all the men's gazes. Many people took the initiative to invite her to dance, but she didn't say a word. She didn't even give them a good look. She scared away all the people who tried to hit on her, breaking many people's hearts.

Although Alice was a half-elf, all the nobles in Bronze Drum City knew what was going on because she had hosted many birthday banquets. Therefore, they treated this banquet as a social banquet.

The nobles gathered in groups of twos and threes, talking about political secrets, business experiences, or trying to find an ally.

Halfway through the banquet, there was a small interlude.

A messenger from the King City found his way here, and in front of everyone's eyes, he placed a letter of appointment in Beta's hands.

Messenger's face was covered in sweat. He said, "His Majesty the King has asked me to pass on a message to you. He hopes that you will remember your promise."

Beta nodded, then took out several gold coins from his spatial backpack and stuffed them into the messenger's hand, which immediately made the latter beam with joy.

Beta opened the letter of appointment. It was indeed written that he owned the wetland. That was the price that the First Prince paid, as well as the contract between the two parties.

At this moment, someone immediately came up and asked Beta which piece of land he got!

There were many old nobles among them. They knew what a real noble's territory looked like, so it was impossible for them to fake it.

Beta replied, "The wetland."

Hearing this, everyone was immediately stunned. Then, they pretended that they heard nothing.

After the banquet was over, Grinton once again invited Betta to his study for a chat.

He looked at Beta and asked solemnly, "You made the wetland your territory again?"

"Yes." Beta nodded. "I always feel that I poured my feelings into that place. So, it's not a big problem to get it back. "

"The First Prince gave you the wetland to roast you on fire."

Beta found it strange. "Oh, why do you say that?"

Grinton's expression became somewhat strange. Or rather, he looked at Beta with a bit of worry. "Many people actually know that there are magic materials hidden under the wetland. In many people's eyes, the wetland represents enormous wealth. But do you know that, since many people know that there are a lot of precious magic materials there, why hasn't anyone applied to the king to buy them or conquered the territory there? "

"Because of the balance of power?"

Grinton said in an exaggerated tone, "As expected of my original master. That's right. Because many people know that there are magic materials under the wetland, everybody tries to occupy the land, but so far, nobody has succeeded. Even if someone occasionally takes office, they die mysteriously after only a few months. "

Beta smiled. "So what if they know?"

"Aren't you worried that they will attack you?" After all, the wealth that the wetland represented was too astonishing.

Beta shook his head. "You forgot how we dealt with the other nobles in the dream. During this period of time, I have also discovered that this world and the Dream World are very different. There are still too many system constraints in the dream, but in this world, everybody can do anything, provided that you are capable enough. "

Grinton hesitated for a moment, then said with a smile, "Indeed, as a Golden Son, you have to do things that are different from other people. Otherwise, you won't live up to your name. "

Beta smiled and left the castle.

On his way out, Beta saw Kail, Barbara, and Alice hiding behind a small tree and talking about something. Barbara sounded domineering, and Alice's voice was gentle and pleasant, as if she were born to be bullied.

When the three of them were together, it was obvious that there was anger between the two women. Beta was too lazy to care about the personal affairs of his students. He simply coughed and avoided the three of them. Otherwise, if Kail saw him, he would definitely cause trouble. Beta would rather face a terrible monster than watch two women who were quarreling.

Beta returned to the inn and dropped the letter of appointment. Shirley lay down next to him in her clothes.

Although he appeared to be calm in front of Grinton, Betta was actually a little nervous. After all, reality wasn't like a game, where you could resurrect after death, and death was death. If the situation in the wetlands was really like what Grinton said, then he had to plan it well after all. Otherwise, if he rashly built a city in the wetlands, there would most likely be big problems.

The following days continued to move forward. But soon, a troublesome matter came knocking on his door.

After a period of rest, Zorro's foot had long since recovered, and he continued to act as an informant for Beta.

One day, he noticed something unusual on the street and immediately came back to report, "Your Excellency Beta, a lot of outsiders have come to Bronze Drum City recently. They are still asking for your attention … Right, there is a white bear painted on their clothes."

"White Bear Mercenary Group?"

Beta was a little puzzled. He immediately asked Joan Of Arc to track those suspicious people, and two days later, he found these people entering a forest.

Beta took Shirley and followed them.

There weren't many tall trees in this forest, so the visibility wasn't bad. Although Beta wasn't affected by the ambient light, it was very strange that Shirley, who was a divine creation, didn't have night vision.

After following these people, Beta discovered that after they arrived at their destination, they were actually talking to a woman floating in the air.

When Beta first saw this woman, he thought she was an angel, but he discovered that this woman had a pair of white butterfly wings.

This woman's appearance was comparable to Shirley's, but compared to Shirley, she was less human and more ethereal.

The woman listened to the man's report and was about to speak when she looked in Beta's direction.

Then, a white beam of light brushed past Beta's right shoulder and swept past. Beta immediately retreated. Facing an enemy who didn't know the night, escaping was the best option.

But the woman didn't seem to want him to leave just like that. When Beta was about to turn around, the woman suddenly appeared next to Beta.

Short-range teleportation was a spell that Beta was capable of too, but it wasn't as pure and simple as the woman with wings, as if the ability had been melted into her mind.

Protecting Shirley, Beta slowly retreated. According to the system notification, this woman was a Lv 13 Master-level powerhouse.

But Beta found it odd. What race was this woman? He had never heard of a human being with butterfly wings.

"I've finally found you." The woman's voice was quite pleasant. She glared at him, clearly unhappy. "Give me back my spring water, or I'll kill you."

Beneath her voice was a cold, murderous aura.

At this moment, Beta still didn't understand what the woman was talking about.

But it didn't stop him from attacking.

He simply threw out six magic scrolls. Four of them were Spider Webs, and two were fire spells.

The Spider Webs instantly pulled the woman down from the sky, and he followed it up with Fireball. Logically speaking, under such an attack, even a Legendary-level person should have died or been seriously injured.

But the woman didn't feel any pain at all under such an attack. Not only did she stand up in the flames, but she also ruined her clothes. A tall, plump body was revealed.

"This is the last time. Give me back my spring."

Beta didn't expect that the weird creature was a maggot that he had seen before. He simply stepped back and said, "Shirley, attack her from both sides."

Shirley immediately understood. The two of them attacked the woman from both sides.

The woman, however, wasn't scared at all. She continued, "If I attack, you'll die. So, give me the spring. "

Beta frowned, and then directly summoned the Mistriding magic, and the thick fog enveloped everyone in an instant.
