The entire group, or what was left of the group finally made it back to the academy base. Alex was unconscious when Eric finally made it to the medical ward with Alex's body in his hands. The nurses immediately took him and disappeared in the back, out of sight.

Now, Eric made his report. And was lying in his bed to wait on the others and to hear news about Alex's condition. The venom from the snake tail would kill someone in three hours. It took almost four hours to get him back to the base. The odds of him surviving were not in his favor.

Eric thought back to that moment when Alex fell from holding on to him. He picked him up cradled in his arms and ran as fast as he could. He was off of stamina and exhausted. His fast run looked like a jog.
