What we're up against

There was an empty seat between Davi and Alina, which they were clearly saving for Ivo. The classroom was filled with people, squeezed together in tight rows so that everyone could fit inside. At a glance, Ivo guessed there were almost forty people in there and all of them were staring at him as he made his way awkwardly to the empty seat.

"Did you punch Corvo?" Alina asked him as soon as he sat down.

Corvo was sitting at the back of the room and Ivo could feel his dark eyes burning a hole in the back of his neck.

"Maybe."

Davi didn't look so amused. "Did he hurt you?"

Ivo was a little offended by the question, and even more so by his tone. He and Davi weren't seeing eye-to-eye since that morning and Vice's disappearance. Which was a damn shame because they couldn't have been more in sync the night before.

He cleared his throat. "I'm fine."
