First Mission

After officially joining Anbu, Kenshin took the gears that he have received from the office. The gear of Anbu includes a mask, full black clothes, shin guards, armours, some shurikens and kunai's and a short sword. But with Kenshin's height this is the perfect sword for him.

After that he went home along with his gears. After reaching his home, Kenshin quickly put the Anbu gear in the cupboard of his room and covered it with his clothes. After that he went to the kitchen where his mother was cooking food for lunch.

"What happened dear? Are you injured or sick?", asked Kenshin's mother Minami.

"No mom, but why you ask about me being sick or injured", said Kenshin.

"Oh, because you were always late due to training and now you came back home, so O thought that you might be sick or something", said Minami.

"No no, I am alright. Today was sort of test to see if I can enter Anbu. And you know mom, I defeated many people of Anbu....", said Kenshin. Kenshin happily described what happened and maybe sometimes he boast a little which caused her mother to laugh.

Hearing Kenshin Minami thought, "What should I do? I am worried about Ken chan joining Anbu but seeing him happy I can't say anything. Let nature take its course". After thinking about it Minami sighed.

"Mom what happened? Are you not happy about me joining Anbu", asked Kenshin.

"That's not it darling, I am very very happy but I am a mother and I get scared thinking if anything bad will happen to you", said Minami while crying.

"Okay mom don't cry. I will try to take easy missions and only take difficult ones when I am older", consoled Kenshin.

Hearing this his mother soon became a bit happy. After that Kenshin spent the afternoon with his mother. In the night he also spent time with his father who just told him few tips like always be careful, must have trump card and etc for survival.

After that Kenshin went to bed and started meditation session. After few hours he succumbed to sleep.

Like this a few weeks passed by and in these time Kenshin learned battle formation and many more. He learned Taijutsu and Ninjutsu from Itachi who was very good at it and Kenjutsu from Kakashi. Kenshin also spared with his teammates to understand their battle style and increase his proficiency.

In these time Kenshin didn't forget to learn fuinjutsu. The main reason for learning fuinjutsu was to ultimately learn "Flying Thunder God Technique" which can improve his battle prowess massively if used correctly. Also Kenshin found fuinjutsu quite intricate and interesting, so he started to learn more about them.

Today was the day when he was going to recieve his first Mission. Kenshin was very excited for it. After waking up, he finished his daily exercise, breakfast and other things then got ready for the mission.

Kenshin wore his Anbu uniform and put on his mask. After that Kenshin used Body Flicker Jutsu to run towards Anbu Headquarters. After reaching destination, he slowed down so that the Anbu Guards don't start to attack him.

After going through the building, Kenshin reached the destination reserved for Team Ro. There he found Yagua Uzuki, Tenzo/ Yamato and some other members were there.

"Hey Kenshin you are early", said Yamato.

"Hmmm I thought that newbie always comes late", said Uzuki.

"Yeah I am quite excited for my first mission", said Kenshin.

After that they talked for a few minutes before Itachi Uchiha came. Itachi like in the anime was very silent. Kenshin always teased him for this. After another few minutes Kakashi came.

"Okay team we have got two missions. One is to investigate something for the Daimiyo and other is to annihilate some assailants from Kiri near the borders of Land of Water and Land of Fire

I have decided the teams for this. Me, Tenzo, Itachi, Yaguya and Kenshin will go for the 2nd mission while the rest of you go to Daimiyo and Ibumi you will lead the other team. Are there any more confusion?", said Kakashi.

"Kakashi San, Kenshin is new here and to kill someone on the first mission is quite harsh", said Tenzo.

"No, it is his first mission so it is exactly the reason for him to go for kill mission. He needs to understand, being Anbu is not fun", said Kakashi.

Kenshin who heard this knew from the beginning that he will have to kill to survive in this world and he has already came in terms with it. Now all that left is to experience that feeling.

"I have come in terms with these things. In Kyuubi Attack I have seen how cheap human life can be, so if I have to kill to protect my loved ones. I will do it", said Kenshin with face full of determination.

Hearing Kenshin everybody in the room became silent. To have this kind of feeling is amazing. Kakashi and Itachi were the ones who were most surprised.

Kenshin's word gave Itachi the final push he needed to make his decision about his family situation and for Kakashi it made him contemplate to why he was doing this and all as he have no known relative, his best friends as well as teachers died.

After regaining their emotions, Kenshin, Uzuki, Tenzo, Itachi and Kakashi went to an area and began discussing about their mission like their approach or kind of battle formation.

"So our mission is to kill some Kiri Anbu who are planning to attack a big merchant who is currently in that town. This merchant holds a lot of power in Land of fire. So if anything happens to him we might be at a war. So we have to complete this mission anyhow", said Kakashi.

After that Kenshin along with his teammates went back to prepare and meet back in the Headquarters in 2 hours. Kenshin quickly went back and packed some clothes and other daily necessities and put them in his storage pouch.

Kenshin also said goodbye to hi mother saying that the mission might take 1-2 weeks. His mother cried a little and told him to be safe. After all that Kenshin reached the Headquarters.

After some time when everybody has assembled, they started going towards the Border Town.

After they ran the whole afternoon, it was evening so they decided to rest and set up camps. Kenshin has high theoretical knowledge about all these things but he has never done this.

After observing others, he managed to learn few life hacks needed to survive in forest or other areas. For dinner they only ate food pills which give them nutrients and supress their hunger for a long time.

They could have hunted some wild animals but they didn't do that because, some wild animals may be poisonous and they might even die if there is no medic ninja so it is advisable to eat food pills only. Especially when they travel in Land of Winds they have to be careful as there are many poisonous plants and animals there.

After that Kenshin meditated instead of sleeping as to be alert of anything happens and meditation also helps relieve stress that has build up in the day.

Like this 3 days passed by and they crossed many cities and villages before finally reaching Border Town where assailants are.
