"Hanabi, are you going to look for him again?"
In the kitchen of the Hyuga clan, after a day of training, Hinata saw her sister rushing in and showed a worried expression. For the past two months, since meeting that boy, Hanabi has been doing this every day.
Every day, after their father finished assigning their training tasks, Hanabi would run to the kitchen, cook some food, and then head to the village forest. Their father had warned and punished her several times, but Hanabi always found a way to sneak out.
"Yes, sister. He's like us; he practices physical skills. Although it's not the Gentle Fist, his appetite is amazing. He eats more than Dad. It's late autumn, and hunting in the forest is much harder. If I don't bring him food, he'll starve!"
As she spoke, Hanabi's hands and feet never stopped. She knelt on the stool, kneaded the rice into balls, dipped them in seaweed, and placed them in a bento box. Despite the sweat on her cheeks, she continued making the next one.
Looking at her sister, still in her training clothes, Hinata hesitated and said, "But... didn't you say he never ate the food you made?"
Hanabi's nimble hands suddenly stopped, and she replied with a sad expression, "Yes."
"Then why do you still..."
"I know, sister. I know my behavior might seem unnecessary or even annoying to him. But every time I see him like that, I feel uneasy!"
For two whole months, at first, he would say a few words, asking her not to come. But later, he ignored her completely, continuing his practice and leaving without a word when he was done. It was as if she didn't exist in his world.
Perhaps it wasn't just him; maybe his world couldn't accommodate anyone at all.
Such a realization made Hanabi feel sad.
"I'm going out, sister. I'll leave dad to you!"
After packing the lunch box, Hanabi waved to her sister and sneaked out.
In the forest behind the mountain, the sound of fists and feet hitting wooden stakes was endless. Yato's clothes were already soaked with sweat. Under full gravity suppression, every punch required many times more physical strength than normal.
But this hellish training had made Yato much stronger over the past two months. Initially, he could punch out a Doriki force of about 200, but now, without gravity's blessing, he could punch nearly 200, and with full effort and Gravity Fruit, close to 500.
Such power meant ordinary people couldn't withstand a full-strength punch from him. However, he was still far from the 500 Doriki force needed for the Navy's Six Styles. These styles surpass human physical limits and are fundamental to the Navy's strength. Even some commanders only learn one or two of them in their lifetime.
"Yato, the little girl from the Hyuga clan is here again." Riku next to him stood up and reminded him. "There are two Chunin with her this time."
Yato exhaled heavily and retracted his gravity suppression. Hanabi's presence caused trouble for Yato, as his gravity fruit was a secret he couldn't afford to reveal, especially with Konoha's Danzo around. The Hyuga clan's Byakugan, one of the three great eye techniques, made it impossible for him to practice normally in her presence.
After a while, a petite figure appeared in his training field. She glanced at the untouched rice ball, a hint of gloom flashing in her eyes. Forcing a smile, she opened a new bento and held it out.
"You must be hungry. It's not too late to eat something before practicing."
Seeing this, Riku jumped to his head and said, "Hey, Yato, why don't you eat it? Maybe if you eat it, she won't bother you anymore."
Even the unreliable Dokkaebi couldn't ignore Hanabi's perseverance after two months. It began to like the girl with eyes as white as snow and urged Yato to get up.
Yato walked towards Hanabi. Seeing this, her hands tightened and her heartbeat quickened, thinking her persistence had finally moved him. But as Yato passed by, she felt her hands and feet grow cold.
"You are an eyesore."
Hanabi stood there, her pure white eyes turning red with grievance. She wanted to cry out loud.
"Don't cry, little girl. That guy isn't worth it. He even abuses animals and doesn't give me meat every day," Riku floated in front of Hanabi, drooling and trying to comfort her. But seeing that she couldn't hear him, it floated back towards Yato, looking helpless.
"Yato, you're such a piece of sh*t. Just a few rice balls; will it kill you to take them?"
"Hey, Yato, are you listening? Speak up; don't play dumb."
Riku floated beside Yato, ranting into his ear. Yato ignored it and continued walking.
He was an orphan of a rebellious ninja, despised by the whole village, while she was the Hyuga clan's white-eyed princess. Getting too close to her would attract unwanted attention, which he couldn't afford.
In the ninja world, the most powerful ninjas are driven by emotions. Yato knew he couldn't afford attachments. By becoming the system host and agreeing to provide a Chakra fruit, he would become the enemy of the ninja alliance.
He couldn't afford to tie himself to anyone, lest his determination waver.
After leaving the forest, Yato went straight to a ninja tool shop. He had given up trying to drive Hanabi away. Two months had proven her determination, and there was no room for maneuver.
Unless he acted against Hanabi, which the ninjas and Chunin following her wouldn't allow, She was the heir of the Hyuga clan's main family, the face of the Byakugan clan, and the future spokesperson of the Hyuga family.
Even verbal insults would bring revenge from the Hyuga clan. After his last remark to Hanabi, he felt a cold, murderous aura from her two bodyguards.
His training couldn't be delayed, and he couldn't move Hanabi. So, he had to buy weight-bearing props to continue his training in her presence. After two months, his physical strength and endurance had improved enough for this type of training.
Although it was not as effective as full-body gravity suppression, it was his only option.
The weight-bearing props in this world were highly developed. This was evident from the Chunin Exam, where Rock Li's weights caused a large crater when dropped. The existence of chakra had promoted technological development, though the Sage of Six Paths' vision of benefiting humanity had been marred by ambition.
Arriving at the Ninja Tool Shop, Yato walked in and immediately spotted someone.
Thick eyebrows, a shiny watermelon head, green tights, and teeth that always sparkled...
The blue beast of Konoha, the man who almost ended the Fourth Ninja World War with one kick
"Might Guy!"
