'My life is a joke'

Sitting on one of the branches of a tall tree, Mabui pressed her back against the tree and look up to the sky cursing her bad luck

"Little girl where are you"

Hearing the voice of the Kiri chunin, she slowed down her breathing and limit her movement to hide her presence. She has been running for around 10 minutes, she didn't have a strong physical body to continue running, she could only hide to recover her stamina

Thinking about those depressing 10 minutes Mabui once again cursed her luck. As the one that suggested splitting up, she knew how dangerous it was. She was the weakest in her team, even with the traps and tools, its no denying that without prep time fighting a chunin is a deathwish

To give herself a fighting chance she chose the weakest chunin. The female chunin and the other male chunin were her targets. The tall, buff chunin wasn't something she could handle, it doesn't take a lot of brain cells to know that the man was a taijutsu specialist which was someone she stood zero chance of fighting

The female chunin didn't look like much physically speaking but that only meant that she either majored in ninjutsu or one of the lesser used jutsu categories. The other male chunin was like a background character, he didn't look like much, if it wasn't for the fact she was in a life or death situation she wouldn't notice him

It was now between the female chunin and the other chunin. Luckily for her, the male chunin followed her which gave her a small chance of winning. That's what she thought the man was a psychopath

Instead of trying to kill her, he gave her time to run and pursued her without the intention to kill her. In these 10 minutes, he had a lot of opportunities to kill her but he chose not to since it would ruin the fun

A ninja's personality affects the way how they fight and their thought process. She wasn't confident in winning, but now she was sure she won't have a quick death, with the Kiri ninja's personality she was sure that her death will be slow and gruesome

'Why did I even become a ninja'

Never did she think she would be in this situation when she chose to become a ninja. She was born into the Narukami clan, unfortunately, she was born in a branch family. Her parents weren't anything special just normal ninjas

Because she was her parents' only hope they had a lot of expectations for her but fate had other plans. For some reason, she didn't possess the strong physique of the Narukami clan which they were proud of not only that she didn't have an attribute of lightning nature

HERESY

A Narukami that can't use lightning release is as worse as an Uchiha that can't use fire release. If not for her physical features people would question if she was really from the Narukami clan

Maybe out of pity God blessed her with high intelligence. Before she could walk, she noticed that her parents didn't like her and even wanted to throw her away. She only became a ninja because of her parents, even if she didn't want to there was no way she could defy them

She thought she would live the life of a background character, living life without being noticed, But once again fate had other ideas. She became the teammate of the Narukami clan twin geniuses and her instructor was the famous Darui the disciple of the 3rd raikage, this was more of a curse than a blessing

She naturally knew why she was in their group. A and Kazuto may not notice it but the branch families are very dissatisfied with the main family. Children from the branch family never achieve anything. they are bound by a chain to never grow and could only bow to the main family

She was being used as the person children born in a branch family could look up to in the future

But why her

She didn't have any talent to become a strong ninja nor was she famous among the branch family children, but she was easy to control

Mabui Narukami

A great ninja that fought side by side with the Narukami Duo, heroes of Kumo

She is one of Kumo's strongest ninjas and 'her' achievements cannot be overlooked

...

They knew she couldn't grow far and will only be known because of Kazuto and A's greatness

She was just a pawn

'Why'

'Why do I have to keep up with this bullshit'

The more she thought about her pending fate the angrier she got. Why does she have to suffer such a fate because of someone else's will

"I'm sick and tired of this shit"

Standing up Mabui jumped off the tree and landed on the ground, soon her opponent appeared in front of her

"So the little mousy decided to stop running"

The Kiri chunin looked at Mabui with curiosity

Mabui didn't say anything instead she took out a kunai

"What are you gonna do fight me, I think we both know how that will turn out"

The chunin looked at Mabui as if he was looking at an idiot, but to his surprise Mabui did something he never expected

Holding the Kunai up to her neck she looked at the Chunin with unwavering eyes

'I have lived my life under someone else's will, but this time I will take matters into my own hand'

She wasn't willing to play this man's game only for her to die a gruesome death in the end, she was determined to end her own life

"Come on now, that's no fun put down the kunai"

Mabui's actions surprised the man but he wasn't finished playing, how could the game finish so quickly

'I understand what you mean now Kazuto'

Ignoring the man Mabui recalls the day when the teams were announced

Survive in a world of monster

'We truly do live in a world of monsters'

Monsters don't mean beings that are strong, they are beings you can't defy. They are the puppet master while you are the puppet, they control every aspect of your life whether you live or die are all in their hands

Like the village and the monster. The villagers sacrifice their own every month to the monster, while the monster sits like a king while the villagers live in fear

She was a villager, she could only bow her head and follow the monster's command

To survive in a world of monsters you need to become a monster

"I disagree Kazuto"

"What are you on about"

The chunin look at Mabui confusingly

"I don't want to become a monster, I just don't want anything to do with you"

Mabui lowered her head and look the chunin dead in the eye

"So stop interfering with my life"

"Ok what is happening"

Said the chunin who couldn't see Mabui's character development

"I don't want to be a ninja. I WANT TO BE A CHEF, SO STOP SNOOPING YOUR NOSE IN MY LIFE YOU MONSTERS"

"The Fuc-"

Mabui threw the kunai toward a tree, the kunai then cut a thin piece of thread. Soon a net rose from where the chunin was standing

Of course, in front of a veteran ninja, this was child's play and he was able to escape with ease

"Oh so we are playing"

After escaping Mabui's trap, the chunin saw that she disappeared and chased after her

After noticing the chunin was getting closer to her she pulled a jar out of her ninja pouch

*Bang*

Mabui threw the item she took from her pouch and threw it at the chunin. He was right behind her and didn't expect this so there was no avoiding it

"Oil?"

The content in the jug spilled all over him, after smelling it he could confirm it was oil

"What"

The chunin wiped his face only to see a ball coming his way

*Puff*

"AHHH!"

On contact, the ball exploded and purple color smoke appeared

The man stop as he screamed in agony

"What did you do"

Holding his face the man looked at Mabui with bloodshot eyes

"Poison"

Mabui replied calmly

"HaHAha, do you think this will stop me, you only made me angry"

Enduring the pain the Kiri ninja looked at Mabui like a madman. He didn't feel different other than the pain so he could tell it was slow to affect poison, he just needs to get the antidote

"Huh"

He took a step toward Mabui but he felt something restricting his movement

"Wait"

The man looked around and noticed a large number of thin threads

'When'

"Do you really think I was just running away"

[Fire Release: Flame Bullet]

Mabui wasted no time and made a series of handseals to perform a C-rank jutsu. This jutsu was probably the most valuable thing her parents ever gave her

This C-rank jutsu is executed by the user gathering oil in their mouth which is created by chakra, spitting it out, and igniting it. This technique simply shoots a flame bullet at the enemy

Plus the oil that was already on the chunin this was a deadly combo

"Shit"

The chunin tried to move but the threads had high durability he could get free in time

*BOOM*

The fire bullet hit its target with zero problem

"AHHH"

Mabui could hear the man's screams while he burned but she didn't feel a single pressure because of this. From the start, she knew that the chunin underestimated her, he never thought she would pull something like this

This was her way out, use this as an advantage and set traps while she was running and hiding. Everything was premeditated and the man fell right into her trap. She just needs to act weak and hopeless and lead the cat to the trap, no matter how strong the cat is a hungry cat wont pay attention to his surroundings only the weak rat waiting to die

"*Sigh* I'm not cut out for this shit"

Mabui fell to the ground in exhaustion

'What is my goal'

When Darui asked her this she couldn't answer it but now

'My goal, my goal is to live a life free of monsters'

She never had a reason to become a ninja, she wasn't determined to risk her life for the village. But she wasn't willing to watch others use her, to escape this fate she need to be strong so strong that others would simply ignore her so she could live a normal life

She stood up and got ready to leave

"Where are you going mousy"

Stopping right in her tracks Mabui turned around with a sour look

"Ah come on can't I have this"

Once again fate had other plans

So I'm not posting a lot, I will post a chapter today but not tomorrow and I will only post 1 chapter instead of 2

Sorry about that, been going out with my parents recently so I don't have time to write, but it's only for this week, next week things will go back to normal
