Chapter 36: The Final Battle II

........

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."

~ Albert Einstein

Illusion, Isaac's fort. He found himself very interested in illusion from the very beginning. It felt very close to him for Perfection is nothing but an illusion.

There is nothing Isaac is better at than illusion, thus why Isaac was the enemy's source of constant headaches in the war, and why Ay referred to him as the annoying kid.

That's also why Ay's eyes suddenly constricted in shock as he let out a cry of pain, confusion clear in his eyes.

Ay's abdomen was pierced by Fugaku's Kunai while his back was shredded by a sharp blade, splattering blood everywhere.

Ay's Lightning Chakra Mode's defense seemingly did little to protect him.

The Fugaku standing before him was nothing but a mirage while the one that appeared by his side already had his Kunai ludged in his abdomen.

He seemingly appeared out of nowhere, just like Isaac as the latter's blade left a deep long wound across Ay's back.

Ay's reaction time was truly astonishing as he tapped the ground, flickering away, and appearing tens of meters away, breathing heavily with a frown.

"You're very good," Isaac couldn't help but say for his blade was supposed to decapitate Ay, and Fugaku's Kunai was supposed to pierce his heart, yet Ay managed to avoid the worst outcome.

"His defense is also troublesome," Fugaku pointed out with a frown. His Kunai was supposed to go a bit deeper.

"Why are you here? And where is B?" Ay questioned solemnly, the wounds seemingly not affecting him much, "Could it be?" He couldn't help but frown deeper, having a bad premonition about Isaac's presence here.

"He's busy," Isaac calmly responded as he took a step forward, not willing to waste much time.

"The Damned Uchihas!" "They tricked us!!" "Kill!" "Help the leader!!" "Keep that damn Uchiha bastard occupied!!!"

Two against one wasn't something the shinobis of the Cloud were willing to let slide as even though they were at a disadvantage, they still sought to save their leader.

"Fall back!!! I'll keep them at bay!" However, Ay's orders were in stark contrast to their expectations.

Ay's orders were absolute, well, usually they are, but now his people were hesitant to listen, only obeying once his deafening cry reverberated throughout, "Go!!!"

However, the worst came to worst in the end as numerous figures appeared from the woods, Isaac's group which was only a little behind him, and now, they've arrived.

"..." Ay took a deep breath, no signs of despair in his hand even with the hopeless situation before him. He could only give one last order, "Fight to Death!"

"Kill them all," Fugaku also ordered as he stepped forward, yet with every step he and Isaac took, two exact versions of themselves manifested beside them, soon filling the entire battlefield.

"Tch, annoying brat," Ay couldn't help but mutter as he saw one of the reasons why he considers Isaac to be the most annoying of opponents, "I may fall today, but I will make sure to take you with me!"

"I believe you," Isaac just smiled, or rather, all of the Isaacs around smiled, his response sounding as if it came from nowhere, making it nigh impossible for Ay to detect the original through sound alone.

Ay had kept his eyes on the Isaac that appeared first, yet he knew that was useless. He learned that the hard way across their previous battles.

Isaac can somehow transfer himself between his numerous projections, seamlessly so.

The way he does it is something Ay can not counter, but it wasn't much of a problem for Killer B for the latter can just let the Tailed Beast within him run wild, and Isaac wouldn't be able to do much against him.

What was even more annoying was that Isaac's projections also included Fugaku, meaning that it was increasingly more difficult to find the two's original bodies, provided that Fugaku could also do the same.

The crackling of lightning around Ay's body got even more intense, its sound overwhelming the crackling of lightning all over Isaac's blade.

The lightning all over Ay's body also managed to stop the bleeding, allowing him to show his peak performance even in such a hopeless situation.

And Ay's peak performance showed itself in the form of pure destruction as his fists fell upon the ground beneath him, rubbles scattering everywhere.

Ay wasn't so easy to deal with as his punch sent rocks everywhere, going through the projections of Isaac and Fugaku, hoping they would reveal the real one.

However, what most projections did instead was evade the rocks, a significant portion of them managing to achieve that, making Ay's mouth twitch in frustration.

That frustration, however, soon turned into excitement as he found a blade heading his way from beneath the ground.

It might've been a surprise attack but to someone with his reaction time, it would seem as if he could predict the future.

Ay only needed to move a little bit to the left to evade the blade while his fist was already falling upon the ground again, "Damn it!!!"

It was all a projection. Ay was aware of that possibility before he let Fugaku's Kunai puncture him yet again, but he was willing to take that risk.

Although the Kunai lodged itself just a bit deeper this time as it was red, all aflame, making it that much deadlier, just not for someone like Ay.

"Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation!!!" Ay found himself faced with a sea of flames, and he was happier because of it as he detected the real Fugaku through it.

Therefore, he vanished, appearing right above Fugaku, his fist clenched, his muscles bulging to the point that his veins looked as if they were gonna pop.

"Water Bullet," As if predicting his actions, several projections appeared around him, some with blades going toward him while others were aiming their water bullets directly at his head.

However, Ay Ignored them, focusing solely on taking Fugaku's head. The lightning around him didn't ignore Isaac though as it spread out, erupting into several bursts of lightning.

Fugaku couldn't help but frown, realizing that Ay was truly willing to sacrifice himself if it meant taking one of them with him.

He also realized that the burst of lightning was released to verify if the Fugaku before him was truly the real one.

The lightning coming in contact with any clone would easily disrupt its chakra flow, thus making it dissipate, just as several of the attacking Isaacs did, dissipating in a poof of smoke.

And if the lightning comes in contact with the projections, it would simply go through them, thus why Ay's eyes lit up as he cried, "Found you!!!"

For some reason, Ay changed his posture midair, targetting one of the Isaacs nearby instead of Fugaku.

Ay's eyes spoke of pure killing intent, having confirmed that the Isaac before him was the real one for he considered him to be a way higher threat to the village than Fugaku, thus, "Die!!!!"
