Chapter 35: The Final Battle I

........

"We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid."

~ Benjamin Franklin

"How are Obito and Kakashi? Getting along with their new teammate?" Isaac curiously asked.

"Eh, they're alright, but getting along..." Minato responded as he scratched his head with a reminiscent smile, "They're always fighting each other, so I guess they're getting along?"

"Makes sense," Isaac nodded, stroking his chin in deep contemplation. Since Rin had joined his hospital, that naturally means she quit the team, thus why they got a new teammate.

That's not what attracted Isaac's attention, however, there's something about Minato's words that put him in a daze as he contemplated things.

"We don't have much time, so let's discuss the plan," Fugaku reminded the two, "What do you think, Minato?"

Minato was here because Fugaku requested reinforcement from the village after all. In fact, he requested reinforcement so many times, yet only received them after things got quite dire.

"I should be able to hold Killer B back for as long as needed, the only variable is the Raikage," Minato pointed out.

Minato's demeanor changed drastically once the serious talk started as Fugaku noted. It seems that war can change even the most cheerful of individuals.

"The Raikage is too busy holding off the surrounding countries from invading the Land of Lightning," Fugaku shook his head, "And according to what I know, he's having quite the hard time holding them back."

"If you're so confident, then there is nothing to worry about," Minato nodded in understanding, "I'll keep Killer B at bay while you two try to eliminate Ay as fast as possible."

The Land of Lightning is one of the only great shinobi countries still suffering from the harassment of its surrounding countries, thus keeping the Raikage very busy.

That's why the war between Konoha and Kumo (Cloud Village) has been a battle mostly against Ay and Killer B with the Raikage nowhere in sight.

"I'm quite surprised though," Minato suddenly said as he turned his attention to Isaac, "I heard you are capable of facing Ay. You've gotten very strong quite fast."

"Hm?" Fugaku raised a brow after seeing Isaac's absent-mindedness, not responding at all, "Isaac... Isaac... Isaac!"

"Huh?" Isaac was finally awakened from his daze as he questioned in confusion, "What?"

"Were you listening at all?" Fugaku asked in similar confusion.

"Oh... Sorry, I lost myself there for a second," Isaac shook his head, getting his composure back, "I just need some rest. Let me know when everything is ready."

And then he left, leaving the two in confusion as Minato couldn't help but ask, "Did something happen?"

"Not that I know of," Fugaku was also puzzled, "Maybe it's just the war getting to him."

"Speaking of which, he does seem very different," Minato nodded with a frown, "His demeanor seems colder... I hope the war didn't ruin him."

"He's stronger than that," Fugaku shook his head as he rubbed his temples, "However, war might change him."

Isaac was changing, slowly but surely, but not fast enough to completely forgo all the things he built in Konoha, a place he grew up in, and thus became used to.

Isaac is certainly not perfect. Therefore, it was no surprise to him when he found many conflicting emotions and thoughts running through his mind as the day he left behind this land drew closer.

He isn't an emotionless machine. In fact, he is as far from that as one could possibly be. The perfectionist in him made it so his emotions are quite wild and uncontrollable.

However, all things must come to an end eventually. Isaac must grow beyond the tiny bubble that's Konoha.

The air turned gloomy, and everyone found themself very tense, feeling that things were finally coming to an end.

The end of the war is near, yet those on the battlefield can not be too happy. The war can only end after the final battle, where they will likely lose their lives.

However, they moved bravely, and both the shinobis of Konoha and Kumo marched toward the battlefield.

The woods were in silence, then suddenly they were not as thousands of ninjas ran through them, including the reinforcements that came with Minato.

They were split into three different groups, each under one of Fugaku, Isaac, and Minato, the latter's group hiding deeply for they worked very hard to make sure the enemy didn't get the news of his arrival.

The goal was simple, harvest as many lives as possible until the enemy's highest level of force shows up, and that certainly didn't take long. The enemy would definitely not just watch his people be slaughtered.

And that's why Fugaku found himself standing before Ay, the latter's eyes speaking of confidence.

"We meet again," Said Fugaku as he walked toward him, his eyes slowly rotating to show the famous eyes of the Uchihas, Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

"You two Uchihas have been very annoying," Ay remarked in almost a joking tone, "But it's time to end it all."

"Indeed, it's time to end it all," Fugaku brought out a Kunai while Ay just grinned.

"AHHHH!" "Kill!!" Brave cries resounded as the Uchihas rushed forward and the Cloud ninjas responded in kind, although they all avoided Fugaku and Ay, giving them the stage to perform.

They will be taking as many lives as they can before eventually falling themselves, that's the life of a ninja.

However, their respective leaders can change their destiny significantly for the longer Fugaku and Ay's battle goes on, the more casualties there will be.

Therefore, Ay acted swiftly as bursts of lightning erupted around him, encasing him in what seemed to be pure lightning chakra, "Unfortunately for you, this is your end."

"Do you know why I'm here for you instead of that annoying kid? It's because you can do nothing against me. I can overwhelm you easily, and there is nothing you can do about it! Lightning Release: Chakra Mode!!!"

Even as he spoke, Ay didn't stop moving, vanishing from Fugaku's sight for a second, even the Sharingan was barely able to keep up with his movement.

That's until a loud explosion was heard, Fugaku's expression Solomon as his hand which was holding his Kunai moved toward Ay who just appeared right before him, destroying the ground all around them.

Fugaku barely managed to evade Ay's punch that sent rubbles all around, but Ay managed to easily evade Fugaku's Kunai, even leaving a smirk behind before vanishing.

Ay's speed wasn't surprising to Fugaku as he had fought him before, yet nothing changed. Fugaku still found himself powerless against Ay's ridiculous speed... Unless he uses Mangekyo Sharingan.

However, using it comes with many risks, thus Fugaku wasn't willing to use it unless he was absolutely sure to completely eradicate any weaknesses or if there were no other choices.

Ay's speed was now giving him no choice but to passively evade as even going head to head with Ay was a death wish considering the latter's strength.

All because of Lightning Release: Chakra Mode, one of the greatest techniques in the world, which allows the user to wrap their body in a layer of lightning chakra to increase their physical parameters, with more lightning causing greater increases.

The lightning also augments the strength of the user's taijutsu, creating what is called nintaijutsu, and defends the user from most attacks, deflecting them away on contact.

The lightning chakra even stimulates the user's nervous system, enhancing their speed and their reaction time.

It's an all-around enhancement that especially raises one's speed. What is one out to do against such a ridiculous technique?

All Fugaku could do was to evade, barely so, knowing that Ay touching him even slightly could end the battle as that might literally shock him, allowing Ay to finish him off.

So why did Ay's eyes suddenly constrict in shock as he let out a cry of pain, confusion clear in his eyes?
