[Chapter Size: 1800 Words.]
Third Person POV
The Land of Sound.
...
...
While the Namikaze family was dealing with the new news, in Kiri, the Fourth Mizukage was reading reports at his desk.
"This..." he murmured, looking at the photos on his desk. The news was not good at all as he saw numerous casualties in his ranks with a civil war ongoing.
"Leave," he said, and numerous ANBU, who were hidden in the room, left their hiding spots as the village's Kage remained alone in the room.
A shadow appeared behind him at that moment, approaching the papers while closely examining the information.
"It's him! He was with Kaguya the whole time!" Obito still held the memories of that night in his mind, the day he almost died to a child in Konoha. He had never been so close to death as in that moment, so he couldn't help but feel a certain rage when he saw the description of the child.
"He left Konoha and is working as a mercenary... How strange. I'll put a Zetsu after him; he is a threat that must be eliminated," Obito concluded with a tone of anger, while the Mizukage remained silent, seeming like a puppet.
"I will eliminate him as soon as I finish destroying Kiri!" Obito concluded, his Sharingan gleaming with pure blood-red. He had to deal with the rebels first to begin his plan and bring Infinite Tsukuyomi to all beings in the world and create the perfect world.
Meanwhile, in the same country, there was a camp many kilometers from the village. This camp housed thousands of ninjas, as it was a war camp. Kiri had split into two sides when the Mizukage started purging all clans with Kekkei Genkai. The resistance rose against this genocidal regime, gathering survivors and people who didn't sympathize with the current Mizukage's ideas to overthrow him. This struggle had been going on for years and caused many ninjas to flee Kiri, like Zabuza Momochi, who left the village after enduring numerous macabre trials that the village's new regime had imposed for him to become one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Even the jinchuuriki of the Six-Tails, Utakata, also left the village with his newly known apprentice, Hotaru, along with many other ninjas.
In the command tent of this camp, Mei Terumī led the entire resistance as the main leader and the strongest member. However, there was still a great war council with the main ninjas, some being clan leaders who survived the purge, and older ninjas like Ao, who possessed a Byakugan he gained during the Third Ninja War. He served as Mei's principal advisor, always by her side, along with Aka, one of the resistance leaders.
"We lost our supplies again!" shouted a ninja around the table.
"We were ambushed by the Mizukage's forces..." another murmured.
"We should launch an attack, we've been in this for years!" another exclaimed, dissatisfied.
"We can't be so reckless..." Aka spoke at that moment.
"Don't you think this is the moment? Haven't you seen the bingo book? Our fallen Kage is losing some strength in the Land of Hot Springs!" another exclaimed, also calling for an attack.
"We should wait until we get more reinforcements. This is not the time to face the Jinchuuriki of the Three-Tails," Mei finally spoke.
"Do you think we can wait, Mei? Do you still believe we can recover Utakata to help us? Who knows where he is right now!" one of the clan leaders exclaimed.
"We'll have a better chance with Utakata," she said, wanting to have the Six-Tails in the fight against Kiri's purge.
"The longer we wait, the faster the Mizukage will attack us or whoever is controlling him..." someone said, and the room grew somber. After all, this was a strong theory to justify the Mizukage's behavior for some years, where he started eliminating the clans and convinced all his supporters that this was the way for Kiri. There was a strong theory that it was a Sharingan user, but no one knew who had really done it.
"We will wait one more week. I want you to reinforce the logistics teams to bring supplies here. We need to replenish all the camp's stocks..." Mei said as everyone nodded, and the meeting ended while the group of leaders left.
"Ao, I want you to stay," Mei requested, and Ao nodded while the advisor remained in the room. Mei had a long fringe in front of her with her enormous reddish-wine hair, covering one of her eyes, while the only visible green eye moved from Ao to the small book on her desk.
In it were the details of Light, with photos of what he had done with the destruction of the guild. "What are you thinking, Mei-Sama?" Ao spoke respectfully. Despite the woman being younger than him, he still had respect for her.
"I was thinking, maybe this is the opportunity to recover our jinchuuriki..." she said, still keeping her eye on the bingo book.
"Do you plan to hire this mercenary, Mei-Sama?" Ao raised an eyebrow.
"We sent our men across the continent, searching for Utakata while they infiltrate the countries, but Utakata doesn't seem open to it at all, as he continues to hide and erase all his traces," she said. "Besides, I can't go looking for him or send someone important enough who has the capacity to do so. You know our enemy might start launching attacks on us soon." She commented while appearing thoughtful.
"So..." he murmured.
"So, I am confident that this Light can do it. We can offer a large amount of money, and I bet he won't have much to do since he destroyed the organization he worked for..." she commented calmly while Ao nodded.
"What do you want me to do?" he asked.
"Go to the Land of Hot Water, he's in that place according to what our spies told us. Propose the service to him and his team," she said.
"I will do that, Mei-Sama," he said in the end, accepting her judgment.
"You may go, leave before nightfall," she requested, and he nodded before leaving the tent.
"..." Mei sighed and looked at the photo of Light with his mask. "I hope you can do this..." she murmured before returning to her duties as the resistance leader.
In a country on the continent, two people dressed in black cloaks with red clouds stood still.
"This looks so interesting..." Orochimaru said, sticking out his tongue, looking with quite surprised eyes at the news circulating the world with the update of the bingo book.
"..." Itachi, his companion in the Akatsuki organization, looked at the information in the book quite surprised. Despite trying to put on a poker face, there were many thoughts in him since he left the village.
First was that the Uchihas survived, and the village seemed to have prospered while he was considered a traitor along with the elder who most wanted him to execute this mission. The other elders lost all political power in the guild, being able to opt for only a few specific matters but no longer having the influence they had before.
Itachi had done what he thought was right to do, but in recent years he wondered if he had really made the right decisions. It was surprising to see that Naruto was out of the village acting as a mercenary. He didn't really understand his intentions, but he knew that Naruto was someone better than him.
'Maybe I should die by his hands, instead of my brother's...' Itachi couldn't help but think as he closed the book.
"Let's go, we should continue our path," Itachi said while Orochimaru licked his lips and nodded, following behind.
Orochimaru was fascinated with the Sharingan and wasn't even aware of what had happened in the Land of Sound. He believed that Danzo was still alive, as this had happened only a few days ago. His attention was on getting Itachi's Sharingan, and he couldn't wait any longer. Itachi was well aware of this, noticing Orochimaru preparing to attack him.
Before Orochimaru could launch his attack, he found himself inside Tsukuyomi. "Orochimaru..." Itachi began while Orochimaru was stunned.
In the Land of Rain, Konan was approaching, leaving the open area with rain falling in the city. She carried a book in her hand.
"Is this Light a threat?" Konan couldn't help but ask.
"No, he really seems to have some type of destructive jutsu or chakra from the tailed beasts within him, which we didn't know from any of our information..." A man was attached to a type of equipment keeping him suspended, with numerous black tubes attached to his back. This was Nagato Uzumaki, the bearer of Uchiha Madara's eyes.
Nagato continued, "There's nothing I can't do that this Light can, after all, I am a god..." he said with an arrogant tone.
"What shall we do?" Konan asked again.
"He seems to be someone strong to have in our organization... Let's invite him," he said. "But if he becomes a threat to our plans, we will eliminate him," Nagato said confidently.
In the village of Hot Springs, in a residence next to the village, everything seemed to have returned to normal after the confusion of the past few days.
"How long are we going to stay here, Naruto?" Kimimaro asked, sitting and reading a scroll that Naruto had demanded from this village.
"We'll stay for a while until we get organized," Naruto said while concentrating on his dark hand covered with Haki. Haki was an invisible layer, but he managed to see it in this world, and even others could see it covering his body with Haki.
"What are you doing?" Akame asked curiously, looking at Naruto's dark hand generating some sparks as he concentrated.
"I'm trying to reach the next level with Armament Haki," Naruto commented. In those memories, he never reached the next level, so he was trying to achieve it in this world. He had the advantage of being born with the knowledge and mastering Haki when he hadn't even entered adolescence yet.
Naruto continued concentrating while his Haki seemed to be getting stronger, but then he lost control, and his hand returned to its normal color. He sighed and looked at Akame. "Let's go outside the city, we need to talk." He had been postponing this conversation with the girl while she nodded, getting up from her chair.
Naruto stood up and turned his attention to Kimimaro. "If you want to stay here, I will keep an eye on you with my Haki, but also stay alert." Naruto couldn't say that this village couldn't do anything against his companion, even though he could destroy it later.
So Naruto and Akame left the room heading towards the forest to train and have a private conversation. After all, Naruto wanted to talk about Akame's new eyes.
