Chapter 2: Dr. Rooney

It's a bright hopeful morning. It's a new beginning for me, as well as my best chemistry lab partner Dr. Baker. We said our farewells yesterday, I wonder how is he doing right now, I'm sure going to miss that fella.

We'll I've got to pack for now and head to the Scholars City. I wish things would work out better there. Toothbrush, pocket watch, my journal, and... wait where is it? Where is my map? It's gat to be here somewhere. At first I thought it was just me, misplacing things again, but then something was moving behind a nearby bush. I slowly crept up and was shocked, a young man was looking at it, trying to find something or maybe somewhere.

"Can I have it back, little mister?" I said unintentionally making jump into surprise.

"Don't call me "little" Mister", he said in quite an insulted voice, "My name is Harley, and it's not my goal to steal this", saying while handing me my map, "from you" he said with a smirk.

"Well that's good to know lit... young mister", I replied with a smile. "So where were you headed? Are you lost?" I asked him.

"No I'm not... well kind of... I guess so" he replied confusedly, "That map, it doesn't show Magic City, my homeland".

"Magic City? I haven't heard of it", I muttered while looking over to my map just to make sure. The boy's smirk disappeared, and was for a moment sad, he was just staring at the ground blankly. I was a little confused too, where in the Land of dawn could Magic City be? But I felt more sad knowing this boy is lost and far away from home.

"Would you like to come with me?" I said, he looked at me but still blankly. "I was heading to Eruditio, to Scholars City, maybe someone can help you out there", his face lit up a little, he smiled back at me and replied, "Seriously? You'll bring me with you?". "Yes, I guessed", I replied uncertainly. But he ignored my uncertainty and was just purely relief of being alone at a place he's perfectly unfamiliar with.

It sure is going to be a long journey, I told myself. This young man is a total stranger for me, though a little troublesome, he looks pretty good hearted and seems nice. And so my lone journey was fast gone, I have a new company already, I wonder how this journey would turn out.

"Oh I owe you a lot, thank you Mister..." he said trying to ask my name.

"Rooney, you can call me Dr. Rooney", I told him.

"Woah! You're a Doctor?", he replied with an amazed face, "I didn't saw that coming, you don't even looked like one, well not to insult you but I didn't see a stethoscope inside your bag", he said.

"Oh well I'm not a Doctor "Doctor" that helps to cure injured people, I'm more like a scientist", I explained and started walking.

"But why are you called "Doctor" if your not a real one...", he argued while following me. He continued talking and talking and talking, asking, and sometimes arguing at small thing he's curious about. And right there, I knew, It's gonna be a long, long, long journey ahead.
