Evelyn sat on the sand as her knees gave away. It took all her energy to defeat the demon. He was much more powerful than she had thought.
But when she thought everything had ended, many demons who were injured by her or Bella, started crawling back.
They were attempting to run away to save their life.
If only one of them ran from here, he could find many humans and kill them to revitalize his powers and would create havoc again.
"Damn it" she cursed as she stood up, there were multiple wounds in her body from minor scratches to big injuries.
Sone had dried blood, while blood was still seeping out from some injuries.
She jumped from her place and did a flip in the mid-air, standing in front of the demon who was trying to run, she smirked.
"Going somewhere," she asked once over to the demon who was on the verge of dying.
There was nothing much left on his body, she was trying to run, she had to applaud for that.
"Stay away or I will kill you?" threatened the shaking demon as the colour drained off from his face.
She laughed coldly at his vain threat.
"Then try, you filthy being." she cursed as she started summoning the holy fire to burn the demon alive like charcoal.
The demon tried to dodge but it was useless. She was much more powerful than him.
The other three demons who were trying to run knew that the next number was theirs. So rather than waiting for death, they decided to do the last attempt.
They covered the mother elf, striking together in an attempt to hurt her.
"Bunch of fools, lever learn from their past mistakes." she taunted as she saw the demons trying to subdue her.
She took out Bella's dagger from her jeans pocket and slashed the neck of the first one.
Chanting at the same time she threw the second demon flying in the air, falling over the third one.
"Learn your lesson or want to play more," she asked as she walked towards the demon who was rubbing their head and trying to stand back.
They glared at her, ready to attack once more.
She shook her head and sighed at their stubbornness.
"I will take that as no." with that she used the tagger again cutting the second demon in two parts from the middle.
She was amazed at the power of this small dagger, "no doubt that filthy being was so angry when I took his dagger.'' she mused as she remembered the fight that ensued just a few hours ago.
Taking benefit of her distraction the last demon started crawling slowly. So that she did not notice him. Bus she just laughed.
"Now don't tell me your demons had started to take me as blind," she asked as she walked towards the crawling demon in small steps.
She bent down and held the demon with his hairs, holding tight he looked into his eyes, "you are just meant to die, that's why your head left you there without a care."
Fear could be seen in the eyes of the demon as she brought the dagger and stabbed him in the middle of his eyes.
His body turned limp as she let go of his head.
Giving a last glance to the limp body she stood up and looked around, the place which was secluded forest just a night ago was turned into a graveyard in a few hours, just because of these filthy creatures.
But what needs to be done is done now, and her task here is finished.
Her eyes roamed around as the place was filled with rotting dead bodies. Poodles with blood were collected everywhere. The stench of blood filled the whole place, flies were crawling over dead bodies and in the middle of all was a large pit where the earth was cracked open showing the hell.
She sighed, the night had already passed. . morning sun rays were peeking through the woods, filling the area with its light warm glow as the sky turned a mix of red and orange.
Soon the sky will get fully illuminated. And there was still a lot of work undone.
She stood up tilting her neck as she started whispering chants, soon the fire started burning the dead bodies of the demons, leaving only ashes behind.
It took her whole two hours to clean the area, as the foul smell of burning bodies remained in the air.
Now only the last body remained, the body of the girl who was much more a human than a demon in her eyes. The one who had saved her. The one who gave up her life to save humans and their festivals.
"Bella, I will always remember what you have done for humanity. I am sorry I could not save you." She spoke, running a hand on the hair of a dead girl.
Now the last thing she had to do is to close the pit. She summoned her whole power in her hands in the form of lightning. She hit the earth with her lightning to move but the more she tried, the more holes remained. Sucking things around them.
"Oh dear," she whispered as her powers were doing the opposite.
Taking a break of five minutes she tried again but nothing.
She was so concentrated in her work that she did not even see a figure appearing behind her.
The man walked behind her as he looked at the mother elf furrowing her brows and trying her best to fill the hole, which was only increasing with the passing of time.
"Oh dear, looks like things aren't working for you," he spoke softly, standing just behind her.
"Ooh" she jumped from her place taking a defensive stance at the sudden voice.
But when she looked back at the man a bright curve spread on her lips and her eyes gleaned
"Saint Nicholas" she squealed in joy finding her saviour.
"Oh ho ho"
