My Plunderer System
In the year 2097, humanity faced a new terror. Cities were destroyed by horrible monsters that came through the dimensional doors. To counter this new terror, humans began to awaken magical abilities and dove into the gates to destroy the oncoming waves of beasts. One student in particular became orphaned due to one of these dimensional doors. He was considered one of the weakest, and was bullied due to his inability protect himself. While being beaten up in an alley one day, the area went into chaos as a dimensional door opened, trapping him and others inside. He was face to face with death when a sudden beam of light came down. "Is this how I die?" the student thought. Waking up in a hospital later, his wounds were healed as if they were never there in the first place, and a strange screen was appearing in his vision... Chapter 30 - Combat Class
After getting to his homeroom class, Milo cleared the screen and was satisfied that he once again was able to help someone who was where he once was. He was also pleased that he could level up by stopping the bullies who pushed around the lower ranks in the school. After sitting through some not so interesting lectures covering the usual school subjects; math, science, english and history. Milo realized didn't really care for any of his teachers, other than Mr. Kruz, something about him interested Milo, he still had one more teacher he hadn't met yet, and that was for combat class.
In the Awakened Academy, classes were split between normal lectures one might see in school and classes dedicated to preparing the students to be gatecrashers, or at least educate them on their abilities. During the week, students would rotate between Practical Training, which helped hone their ability and Combat Training which would teach them how to use enchanted weapons and gear. Finally, Gatecrashing 101, was a lecture that was given everyday of the week and would teach the students important things that are needed for gatecrashers. It was this lecture that Milo was first noticed by Mr. Kruz and the lecture where he was reminded of his parents.
His class today would be combat training and it would be taking place in the weapon hall which was in the practical training hall. After making his way there, he entered the weapons hall and was amazed by the racks of weapons hanging on the wall. There were hundreds of weapons, some that he was quite familiar with, many different swords and daggers, all of them having different shapes and lengths and blade styles. There were ranged weapons as well, bows of different sizes and crossbows. Finally there were many other different weapons he was unfamiliar with, but all of them looked like they could deal damage, one way or another.
When walking into the room, he came across his new teacher who was in charge of the weapons hall, and from one look, he thought that maybe he would have another teacher he liked. The man was about the same height as Milo, as he got closer he could see his mid-length, black hair that was peppered with gray and his piercing blue eyes. After making eye contact with Milo his mouth twisted into a gentle smile before he nodded a greeting. He was standing up straight in the center of the room with his legs spread about shoulder length apart and a long cane in his hands planted in the floor in front of him.
Once it seemed like everyone had arrived, he banged his cane on the floor to gather everyone's attention, welcome to the weapons hall.
"I am the sole combat instructor at the school and am in charge of helping all of you to be proficient in at least one weapon by the time you graduate from the academy. Some of you may already know my name but I will introduce myself just to be sure, I prefer just being called by my first name, so you may all call me Mikael. I believe a hands on experience is the best way to find a weapon that is best for you, as you can see there are many here that you are free to choose from so please feel free to test as many as you would like."
Many of the students who didn't know who Mikael was, immediately began looking for a weapon that suited them. Milo was one of the few who didn't know who he was but stayed close enough to the group to hear about his past.
Apparently Mikael was one of the original gatecrashers that appeared in the world following the first gate that broke open in the Philippines. Because of his mastery with a sword and his powerful ability, many called him the Beast Butcher. His ability tied into his swordsmanship very well, as he was said to have an ability called double impact, which Milo confirmed using his system. It was a very powerful ability that when triggered caused an attack to cause damage at two different parts of the target, so a single slash to the chest could cause multiple slashes to appear at once depending on the strength of using the ability. In the case of the Beast Butcher, some claimed that one strike could result in five other simultaneous strikes happening at once. When hearing about how Mikael's ability paired so well with his ability, Milo as well tried to think of a way to pair his abilities with a weapon to maximize his efficiency, the only question.
