In the year 2097, humanity faced a new terror. Cities were destroyed by horrible monsters that came through the dimensional doors. To counter this new terror, humans began to awaken magical abilities and dove into the gates to destroy the oncoming waves of beasts. One student in particular became orphaned due to one of these dimensional doors. He was considered one of the weakest, and was bullied due to his inability protect himself. While being beaten up in an alley one day, the area went into chaos as a dimensional door opened, trapping him and others inside. He was face to face with death when a sudden beam of light came down. "Is this how I die?" the student thought. Waking up in a hospital later, his wounds were healed as if they were never there in the first place, and a strange screen was appearing in his vision... "Welcome to the Plunderer System" Follow Milo Fenix as he uses the system to fight back against his enemies; his weak old self, the beasts, even humans. Will he achieve his goal of becoming the strongest? Will he be able to overcome his past self as someone who was weak? Will he be able to protect the ones he cares about? Find out by reading My Plunderer System. . . . First ever time trying to write a novel so any feedback you have is greatly appreciated :) -Kowatch24
While searching through the different weapons, a few different things caught his eye, the first was a long pole that had spear blades on both ends. The other was a shortbow that allowed for quick firing up close. He also considered a one handed sword as well, as it reminded him of the games he played when he was young. When thinking of what to pick, Mikael seemed to notice the look of thought on his face and approached him.
"What are you currently thinking about?" He asked as he walked up next to Milo.
"I'm trying to think of what the right weapon for my ability would be, when I'm fighting, most opponents refuse to get close. But if they do get close I want something I can use to fight up close as well," Milo responded.
After pondering it for a moment, Mikael finally had an idea of what type of weapon would be good for Milo to use, "My first recommendation would be a bow with a dagger or short sword that you can draw if an opponent gets to close, the bow would allow you to fight at a range like you were originally thinking. I have another thought but it is a much harder weapon to master. Ah! Here it is, I knew I had one in here somewhere."
The weapon that Mikael had selected looked to be a type of hatchet or small scythe on the end of a chain, on the end opposite the scythe, there was a small ball that seemed to add weight and offer a way to hold the end of the chain opposite the hatchet..
"This weapon is called a kusarigama, it translates to chain sickle. By holding the sickle at the handle, you would be able to fight up close, and at a range you can throw the sickle out by the chain. As I said it takes a long time to master but it can be a powerful weapon in the right hands."
When thinking of what to do, Milo was originally thinking of using the bow and dagger. This was because Milo was worried about trying to master the chain sickle. Along with this, the bow had a wider range. This was until Milo came to an epiphany, if he chose the bow and dagger he would have to be able to swap between the two quickly, along with this he'd have to practice his aim as well as his close up dagger fighting. A second later, Milo had another thought, if he could use his weapon with his ability it would make it even more powerful, and he had an idea of a way to use the chain sickle with his ability, it would just be a matter of was it possible.
"I'll try the chain sickle then."
After receiving the weapon from Mikael, a ding sounded in Milo's head and Navi's voice rang out, "New weapon: Common Chain Sickle equipped, tutorial of weapon basics has been generated."
When hearing this message, Milo was astounded by how extensive the system really was. Not only could it teach him how to use the abilities he plundered, but it could also teach him how to use different weapons as well. Milo soon moved over to the corner of the practice room and opened the tutorial on the chain sickle.
When the video opened, it showed a man holding the chain sickle, he had the chain wrapped around his arm and was holding the sickle by the handle.
"Welcome to the basic chain sickle techniques video. In this video I will be teaching you the basics on how to use the chain sickle and common ways that it can be used."
The man in the tutorial went on to show basic techniques for using the sickle up close. After repeating the video a few times, Milo backed away from the corner and tried to replicate the moves he watched the man make in the video. While they were rough imitations of the video, with time Milo would be able to polish them through practice. After some practice with the up close practice. Milo went on to the section of the tutorial about basic uses of the chain, his first attempt at copying the move was a total failure, but Milo was not one to give up so easily.
Mikael soon called the end of class and told the students they were free to come in at any time to practice with their chosen weapon before having them all return them until the next class as there was only one of some of the weapons found within the hall.
"There are definitely some bright pupils this year, and who would've thought the young man with the chain sickle would find success so quickly," he said to himself with an impressed grin on his face.
