A-s reaming...

Kelvin was miserably stoic the next morning when he gave his full report to his captain.

"I know what I saw, Captain," Kelvin said through clenched teeth.

He desperately tried to defend his position after last night's events.

"This is a complete cluster-f--k, Detective Lights." Captain Richard roared.

Kelvin was on the receiving end of a thorough a-s-reaming, not like he had a choice. But he would still try to defend himself, even if he did sound crazy.

"We have the dead body or whatever is left of a prime suspect in a chain of kidnappings that looks like he's been dead for decades! And all you've got is that a naked woman was in the room with him, who then jumped out the window when you showed up? Is that your f-----g story?" Captain Richard asked.

"Yes sir, Captain," Kelvin replied, sticking to his word.

He failed to mention the huge black wings sticking out of her back, the horns sticking out of her head, the long tail.

Or he felt it wasn't necessary, no reason to make the Captain think he was more bat-s--t crazy than he already did.

Captain Richard sat back down in his padded chair, he lowered his voice to a less strident level.

"Listen Kelvin, you're a good cop, one of the best, but I can't help but think that lately you haven't been thinking clearly."

Kevin rolled his eyes in frustration, knowing the turn this conversation was about to take.

"This has nothing to do with Sarah and Mia, sir. I've been through endless therapy and countless psychological evaluations, even the shrinks say my mind is fine and I've been cleared to be back on the force."

"I'm fully aware of that, Kelvin" Captain Richard said.

"I can't begin to imagine what you've been through. I'm just hoping that your frustration with their case hasn't carried over into your duties."

"They haven't," kelvin assured him.

"Good!! Regardless, i want to give you a few days off with pay, to clear your mind and start fresh on this case."

"That won't be necessary, sir." Kelvin rejected instantly.

"That is an order , Detective light! You are by no means to work this case until you report back next week, understood?"

Kelvin straightened. "Yes, sir."

"Before you go, see if Vincent has any lead on the case" he said dismissing Kelvin.

Vincent!! The same Vincent that was given the case of Sarah and Mia, the same Vincent that always hit a dead end in the case when asked about the progress.

They use to be best friend but after the incident, he just grew distance and when he started hitting dead ends on the case everytime kelvin asked about the progress he just started hating him.

And there he was, he never seems to disappoint, he was practicing his basketball skill by throwing folded papers in the bin and kelvin just couldn't help but think just maybe he was hitting those dead end on purpose.

"Hey Vincent!!" He called drawing his attention

" Yo!!! Kelvin what's up it been a while how's it been?"

Normally in other time kelvin would be asking about the progress of the case of Sarah and Mia but since it's always dead ends with him, he'll skip it and besides he'd lost his shit enough for the last 24hrs.

"Cap said to check on you about the case" kelvin said

" That? I'm just about to go to the pathologist won't mind if you come along"
