My New Life As A Zoldyck In HxH

*Reborn in HxH as Maha's sister with basically immortality.** In my first life, I was a CEO. I had experience with negotiations, remaining calm in frightening situations, and being completely emotionally detached. Yes, I know. Typical cliche backstory. But for me, that was my life. I had the average childhood - books, movies, anime, school, and studying. I spent middle school waisting my life away, reading manga, watching anime, reading romance, watching sitcoms... and then I realized how my life wouldn't get anywhere like this. I had always despised couch potatoes, and I was slowly turning into one. So I finished reading and watching my current favorite manga and anime, Hunter X Hunter, and started studying. It turned out, I was a prodigy. I had astonishingly accurate memory - I could remember things just by looking and hearing them once. I expanded my knowledge by a LOT, and after graduating, I started my company. Alas, after my company reached #1 in the world, my family died in a car crash, and my closest friends betrayed me... (yes, I know. My life story is so common that if this were a book, no one would feel an ounce of pity.) I grew detached from the world. There was no entertainment, just work, boredom, sleep, work, sleep, boredom, work.... An endless cycle. Hearing an assassin would come, I wrote a will giving away everything to my business partner. After writing the will, I willingly drank the most lethal poison (since the assassin apparently knew I had become immune to most poisons after taking a class from the weapons master) and died peacefully, hoping my next life would be a little more exciting... and that I would have more people to rely on. I opened my eyes, unsure if I would be met with Heaven or Hell's gates, and found myself... facing a white wall, with noise and energy surrounding me. I looked around cautiously before realizing I could barely move my head. The last thing I heard was the word "Zoldyck..." before I passed out.

My Nen

The glass in front of me stayed still, and I was about to cut off the nen to taste it before the leaf inside started moving. I immediately stopped myself and continued applying nen, watching closely.

The leaf began to move around slightly before it shrank until it became a leaf bud.

Then, it slowly opened up and then changed into a baby flower. Confused, I continued applying nen to see if anything else would happen.

I was shocked when another glass appeared right next to the glass, and started teleporting around.

I briefly imagined a comic from my previous life, one from Spider-Man where someone was able to create black holes in space to move them somewhere else.

As soon as I imagined it, the glass that recently appeared turned into that comic.

I continued applying nen, just in case anything else happened. The water began to slowly rise, spilling slightly before the flower bud turned back into a leaf. The water began to evaporate, and then the air around the glass turned into water, splashing on the ground.

That was...weird. I was definitely a specialist, and I wasn't sure if I suited the personality. Still, the personality doesn't always define the nen (Or the other way around).

I remembered the water slightly spilling- was I an enhancer, as well?

But that doesn't suit my personality at all... forget it. I'll just assume my personality has nothing to do with my nen for now.

Since the water slightly overflowed, I might have greater enhancer compatibility.

The glass also created a clone, but entirely realistic and even solid... that might be part of my nen as well.

And when I imagined something, the clone turned into that... maybe I'm also a conjurer?

But that doesn't make sense, since I barely imagined it and it transformed into it. Maybe I'm a unique conjurer?

Ugh... I'm getting a headache. Anyway, the leaf turned back time in itself, then became a leaf again before becoming something else entirely. This ability is so weird!!

Frustrated, I try to think of one ability I could make just from one aspect of the nen. Since the nen could turn back time on the leaf and make it look different, maybe I could stay young that way?

If I continuously applied nen on myself, or just made a requirement, I might be able to achieve immortality, even! My previous frustration gone, I excitedly thought of other ways I could use the nen.

For now, I don't have to understand my entire ability. I can just understand aspects of it and use them to make abilities.

When I do understand the entire ability, I'll be able to make more abilities.

For now, though, I'll focus on immortality and staying young.

I might also be able to change my appearance, like Tonks from Harry Potter. If I can, I'll name the ability "Metamorphosis."

I continued to develop new theories as to what abilities I could create, and how I could use my nen in the future.

I grew giddy with excitement, and didn't even realize the air around me was turning pink until the mist started surrounding me.

Was this my doing?! I frantically looked around, trying to find my opponent.

I was resistant to some gases, but not all. I hadn't been exposed to this yet... if something happens... suddenly, I realized the air smelled like strawberries, my favorite fruit when I was on Earth.

The air around me changed into hundreds of strawberries, dropping on the floor around me.

Confused, I stared at the space as it turned back to normal.

Was this part of my nen?

But why did it only activate just now... I didn't even make that ability, or apply nen to anything. So weird....

* * *

And so, I spent the next year analyzing my nen. It took a while, but I managed to create multiple nen abilities, and all of them were very useful.

I had already reached the 200th floor by now, and although I'm sure my father meant for me to come back before that, he hadn't specifically said I had to come back when I reached it; he just said I could only come back when I reached it.

So I spent the time in between by battles strengthening my nen and practicing with it. I had created some nen abilities by now, as well. One was called "Metamorphosis."

It allowed me to change my image. I could grow hair ten feet long, become bald, look like a 12 year old, even look like original characters from the HxH show if I focused hard enough.

In short, I was able to change my appearance at will.

My next ability was called "Immortality." Although it didn't actually give me immortality, it was something so close to it I was astonished I was able to achieve it so easily.

I had refined it, practicing applying nen to myself even when I was asleep. I had managed to age myself and stay young, and not just my appearance but my actual body stayed healthy and young.

After feeling confident enough, I stopped using it. I would have to be at least 16 before I stopped aging.

I had to finish puberty before I could stop growing, at the very least, or I'll have to go through it for the rest of my life.

When Killua is born, I'll pretend I'm his sister... or better yet, I'll pretend I'm all the Zoldyck's older sister!

It can become a traditional prank, even...! Off-track again.

"Immortality" also has side effects, but good ones. Since it basically reverses and fast-forwards time on myself, I'm able to speed up healing like recovery girl from MHA, and turn back time and erase any injuries, like Eri. I called the healing "Heal," categorized in "forward hearing" and "backward heal".

I was also able to change time on one part of the body, so if I wanted my hand to become small, it could.

I called this "shrink." This ability could be useful if I ever got trapped somewhere, or if I needed to fit in something.

Putting that aside, after I was able to change my age at will, I stopped using "Immortality" so that I could age normally until I was becoming too old (as I'm in my 20s).

When that happened, I'll start using it again. I also had "Time". It was similar to Immortality, except I used the nen on objects and space itself.

I could reverse and fast-forward time on objects and slow down time on space.

When I used it on space, everyone around me was in slow-motion and I was able to walk and do everything normally. I called this "slow-mo(tion)."

I decided to continue practicing Time, since if I worked hard enough I might even be able to stop time or go to the past and future. I made a mental note to practice my Time ability on space after becoming a floor master, when I would have more free time.

I had already decided to become a floor master. I would be able to practice my nen up there, and I might be challenged by people who could increase my nen by being hard to beat.

Once I became a floor master, though, I would go back to Kukuroo Mountain.

I also was able to change objects. I could change a rose to another flower, change water to juice, etc.- the only condition was the matter had to be about the same.

So, I couldn't change a small house to a mansion, or a copper coin to gold. I could, however, change money bills.

I could change a 100 Jenny bill to a 1000 Jenny bill. This would be very useful, and I was grateful for my time at Heavens Arena to improve and train by myself without having to conceal my potential (since I don't want to be restricted by being the head of the Zoldycks for the rest of my life).

Another ability I developed was "Travel." I was able to distort space, like time, and travel to other places. This was another very useful ability- it was basically teleportation.

For now, I could only use it on myself. But with training, I would be able to bring other people with me. after I become a floor master, probably before I turn 7, I'll go home and ask my family to train me in nen.

They are the Zoldycks, after all.

I smiled as I thought of how far I had gone in 14 months.

I had reached the 200th floor faster than Killua's first time, though I was busy learning nen and using this as training rather than simply getting it over with, unlike Killua.

When I got home, I would start training my nen categories.

Since I have good compatibility with most of the categories, I should start training them at an early age to master them faster, although truthfully I'm in no rush- I literally have a century.

The announcer started announcing the upcoming match, breaking me out of my thoughts. "And here we have the Unbeatable Mizuki, versus the Whirling Wind Wohtom!!!"

I slowly walk up to the stage. I had 4 wins so far, and I had never lost yet. I had analyzed my opponents carefully, since they most likely had, too, and I didn't want to have a disadvantage.

The "Whirling Wind Wohtom" is a nen user who can control air, which is very useful. He could turn air into gusts of wind, and used that to either throw his opponents out of the ring, or to turn it into a tornado and whisk the opponent into the air.

He also had other trucks up his sleeve, like nen-enforced blades and bullets with nen to make them stronger.

He would launch bullets at his opponent with wind, controlling their direction.

Although I knew enough about Wohtom to be confident about my win, I didn't want to immediately take the win. I wanted to use these fights as experience, to perfect my nen and attacks.

Wohtom stared at me silently, not trying to trash-talk with me.

Apparently, he wouldn't take me lightly. I was grateful, since most of my opponents underestimated me for being a 5-year old and a girl.

I got into my battle stance as the whistle blew. I needed to experience his attack and come up with a countermeasure.

This wasn't the most effective way - I could simply take him out in one go. However, I needed battle experience while I'm still new at nen and learning.

So I let Wohtom take the lead.

As soon as the whistle blew, he turned the air surrounding me into wind, carrying me up in a mint tornado.

The wind wasn't that strong - I could easily break out of it, which was disappointing.

As I leapt to the floor gracefully, I dashed to Wohtom, my figure a blur, and swept his feet out from under him.

Wohtom was rather big; he weighed several hundred pounds, most of it being muscle. However, this was nothing compared to the testing gates, and I easily got him on the floor.

"Down! Point for Mizuki!" Shouts the referee, just as Wohtom gets up.

With a groan, he lunged at me with his arms. Using gyo, I saw that some nen was gathered in his arms and in the air surrounding my legs.

I quickly jumped up, just as the wind formed to pull my legs down.

A satisfied smirk settled on my lips.

I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it before.

I could use gyo to see where the wind would form, and Wohtom wouldn't be able to catch me off guard anymore.

Nen formed around my arms, most likely to pull me down or to the side, and I used nen to jump higher, out of the wind's reach.

I maintained gyo just in case, and swiftly pulled out a needle, throwing it to the most effective but hardest to reach pressure point with ease.

I threw the needle from midair, and just as he turned his neck, the needle stabbed him exactly where I had predicted, not a millimeter apart.

Since the place where I was aiming was the pressure point that, if pressed in a specific spot, will trigger the human body to shut down and numb all the nerves.

Since this was extremely difficult for most, and wasn't easy even for me, I felt satisfied at the way I took my opponent down.

I watched with slight pride as Wohtom immediately crumpled up in a heap on the floor with a groan, and lost consciousness.

The referee snapped out of his stupor and shouted, "winner: Mizuki!"

Silence fell over the ring as I slowly walked out.

"The... the winner is the UNDEFEATED MIZUKI! Will anyone be able to beat her?! She took out the massive Wohtom will a single needle in the neck! Will we see her facing off against a floor master soon?!"

The announcer shouted in an effort to get rid of the overwhelming and suffocating silence and try to get everyone hyped up again.

After a few seconds of silence, people start cheering and groaning, I could even make out someone grumbling about how they lost their bet.

The noise comes back, and I exit the stadium with my fifth win. Maybe I'll practice training my hearing as my next training.

Since hearing is one of my talents, if it could even be counted as a talent, I should pursue it, since hearing comes in handy a lot in HxH and as an assassin.
