"This new student here is Gu Yu," Teacher Zhang said with a smile, standing behind Gu Yu with hands resting on his shoulders. She spoke gently to the children sitting in the classroom, "Let's welcome Gu Yu to make a brief self-introduction, shall we??"

"Yes—!"

The children sitting in the classroom nodded enthusiastically, then blinked their eyes, staring intently at Gu Yu.

Gu Yu frowned slightly, glanced at Teacher Zhang standing behind him and another teacher, and after a moment of silence, he began somewhat reluctantly, "My name is Gu Yu."

After he finished speaking, he paused for a bit, looking down at the children who were stretching their necks and gazing eagerly at him, he felt somewhat unamused.

Teacher Zhang stood behind him, still smiling expectantly for him to continue, but after a while realized Gu Yu had no intention of going on, so she had no choice but to ask, "Anything else??"

"Nope," Gu Yu said, his dark eyes sweeping casually over the classroom.

The atmosphere in the classroom turned a bit awkward at once.

"So... let's see," Teacher Zhang had to proceed on her own, "how about sitting with the Strawberry group? Next to the child in the red clothes, is that okay??"

Gu Yu followed the direction Teacher Zhang was pointing and saw a chubby little girl with round cheeks and braided pigtails, staring at him with shining eyes.

For some reason, Gu Yu thought the little girl's gaze was like that of a big grey wolf that hadn't had meat in three days, seeing a plump little lamb.

Gu Yu shivered involuntarily, glancing again at the other children in the classroom, then suddenly pointed to the empty seat next to Tang Yuran and said, "I want to sit there."

Tang Yuran looked at the direction Gu Yu was pointing with confusion in his eyes, he... he wants to sit next to me??

"Well..." Teacher Zhang hesitated.

The Watermelon group, where Tang Yuran was, already had five children. The other groups had either five or four children. If Gu Yu joined them, that would make six children in the Watermelon group.

However, Gu Yu clearly had no intention of considering Teacher Zhang's thoughts. He picked up his backpack and walked straight over to the seat next to Tang Yuran and sat down.
