Chapter 1: His ocean blue eyes

"Quickly doctor, he's losing too much blood!"

it was only a minute or two since she was called to prepare an emergency surgery to the young man who was found almost half-dead. She only glanced once and she knew what had to be done. The blood oozing out on the patient's ears indicated that he's almost at the gates of heaven.

She turned to look at the person to assist her in the surgery, but the tall man in a sterile lab gown did not even care to put on any surgical gloves. He also knew the littlest chance this mas has.

"Are you really wasting energy on this patient?" He asked behind his mask.

She looked at him sternly. The look on her face made it clear that she would do anything to save this man's life; to save what was unsavable. That was her motto.

"Status." She asked the nurse beside her as they ripped open this man's expensive-looking shirt and saw a visible tattoo by his bicep where she froze for a second, how could she not recognize... she looked closely at the mans' bruised face to see if she was right...

"The patient was driving over 200 in speed when he lost control and crashed on a telephone pole. EMT's report was the patient was not wearing his seatbelt."

This couldn't be! This man would never drive without his seat belt on! This man wouldn't be seen driving past 200!

"History for these past three years?" She asked as she checked all of his Ct scan and Xray and thought of every little detail of what she could do to pull him out of the grave.

The OR Nurse looked at Doctor Shen for a moment and then shrugged her head.

Doctor Shen glanced at the man in front of her. "If you're not going to help, just leave." She said sternly. The tension between the two doctors made the mood heavy inside the operating room. Seeing her move swiftly with her delicate hands made the other doctor grunt angrily. He put on his surgical gloves and began working with the woman he loathed since she began working in the hospital.

The OR nurses stood as if there is nothing to assist since the two doctors almost did everything on their own. They didn't dare speak or made a noise because the frightening aura of the two doctors was enough to make them shut up. All they did was watch and pass the needed instruments until they saw a brink of hope for the bloodied man lying on the cold bed of the operating room.

'You can't die just yet, not on my arms.'

22 hours later, the two doctors announced the successful operation they had and transferred the patient to the recovery room. The female doctor instructed the male aids to put the patient in a VIP section of the recovery room since she put him under his care. That no one is to enter or disturb her patient until he is stabilized.

The male aids brows connected and stared at the man's face before them. who could this man be for Doctor Shen to be moved to a more private room?

One nurse checked every detail of the patient's chart after Doctor shen had signed it a few minutes ago. Her eyes widened at The patients' names.

Mo, Jin-Rae

Wasn't Doctor Shen's surname before was Mo?

A week and 14 hours later, Jin-Rae opened his eyes... He blinked a few times before his vision adjusted to the dimly lit room. The smell of disinfectant burned his nose which made him realize that he is in a hospital.

He tried to get up but one firm hand touched his shoulder, preventing him to move. For a moment, he found a pair of almond eyes staring back at him. The look on her face was cold and distant, while he gave the same vibe. Both of them almost had an icy stare off for a little while making the room drop its temperature. The authority in her face made him shift his gaze elsewhere. After all, his head throbbed and every inch of his body ached.

"You should rest. You're not allowed to move." Her voice was ice cold.

He couldn't speak because of the pain, but right now it is best he follows her advice and didn't move a muscle.

"You need some rest, this is a pain killer and antibiotics. This should help with the pain." She said in a clear voice.

This woman, who was distant to her for almost three years, is talking to him and actually said those words? What is she planning at?
