Asking for a favor

"...I should probably call grandma and inform her that I won't be coming home today," muttered Shun as he paused the game that he was playing.

He took a glance at the girl who was sleeping and sighed.

"She has been sleeping for quite a while now."

Saying that Shun sent a message to Chiyo telling her that he was busy and would most probably spend the night outside.

Since it was not the first time that it had occurred, he didn't think much about it and just stood up to stretch his body.

Looking back at the girl Shun noticed the white which had some dirt on it and thought, 'I have been involved quite a bit with girls having white hair. First, Rumi who saved me, then Kei whom I helped in running away, and now this kid Eri who got hit with the can I kicked.'

While thinking Shun unconsciously moved closed to Eri and caressed her head making the little girl frown a bit.

Shun immediately tried to move his hand away but the girl showed a small smile as she leaned her head towards Shun's hand.

Seeing that Shun stopped retracting his hand and just caressed the girl's head for a while before he decided to go out and get something to eat.

Closing the door behind him Shun decided to go to the cafeteria to get something for himself when he suddenly remembered something.

'The girl was running with a panicked look on her face....as if she was being chased by someone.' thought Shun as looked back towards the door and sighed.

'Well, it's not like I am that hungry.' thought Shun as he went back inside the room and took a seat beside the bed.

"I can just wait for her to wake up before I get to hear her story," said Shun as he poked to girl's cheek.

'...I should get something for her at least. Looking at her state she would be hungry when she wakes up.' thought Shun.

"But leaving her alone is not an option...." muttered Shun, but then he realized something and immediately got out of the room, only to knock on the door of the next room.

"Yes? Who is it?"

Hearing the familiar voice Shun smiled and replied, "It's me Rei-san."

Shun then heard the sound of the footsteps approaching the door and soon it opened revealing a white-haired woman who smiled as she saw Shun.

"Shun, long time no see. How have you been?" asked Rei with a smile on her face.

"It's been only a month though, since the last time I came," said Shun as he entered her room when Rei gestured for him to come inside.

"Rei-san, there is something that I want your help with, and can you keep it a secret from others," asked Shun.

Hearing his words Rei tilted her head and asked, "You want my help?"

"Yes."

"And you want me to keep it a secret?"

"Yes."

"...Is it dangerous?"

"Not for now, but it might get dangerous. Don't worry though I will take full responsibility for your security," said Shun.

"Hmm...well what should I do. Shun-kun who came after a long time to meet me immediately asks for a favor. It makes me very sad." said Rei in a playful tone.

"Ugh, I am sorry and I was very busy with various things, plus there was this sports festival at school too."

"Ah, I saw that too. Congratulations Shun-kun."

"Thanks. So about the favor..."

"Ah, I will help you don't worry," replied Rei as Shun smiled and immediately went back to his room.

He then picked up the unconscious girl and teleported back into Rei's room.

"Can you look after her for about, 10 minutes? I will come back soon."

Seeing the unconscious girl who was covered in bandages, Rei's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at Shun.

"I will explain as soon as I am back," said Shun as he laid the girl beside Rei who looked at her with a worried look on her face.

"Don't worry Rei-san she is just asleep....and malnourished. Well, she's in better condition compared to me when I first came here," said Shun making Rei look at him with a deadpan look on her face. She then sighed and said, "Alright, but tell me what type of situation is this once you return."

"Sure, don't worry. I will make sure that no harm is done to you."

Hearing that Rei sighed and then pulled Shun's ear with all her strength.

"It's not like that. I know that you will protect me, but you should not just dive into dangerous situations. I worry about you." said Rei.

Shun was about to say something and looked at her but seeing the worried look on her face, Shun closed his mouth and just gave a nod.

Seeing the boy nodded his head Rei let go of his ear and gave a pat on his head.

"Good boy, now hurry up."

Noticing that he was finally freed Shun took a step back and then locked the door. He had already covered the room with vibranium and various enhancements a long time ago since Rei lived here.

He then teleported near a convenience store and then bought the stuff that he needed and then immediately teleported back into Rei's room.

"Welcome back," said Rei with a smile on her face as she caressed the little girl's hair.

"She is still sleeping huh. Well, I am glad for that though," said Shun as he placed the things that he bought on a table and then sat beside the bed.

"Children her age tend to nap a lot," said Rei.

Seeing the peaceful look on the girl's sleeping face Shun thought, 'I was electrocuted if I overslept when I was her age.'

"Oh, here Rei-san this is for you. Don't tell Fuyumi-nee that I gave you this," said Shun as he took out various types of items from the bag.

Seeing the contents that Shun showed Rei chuckled and said, "You will get scolded by Fuyumi if she finds out that you brought these spicy things for me."

"Well, then we need to clear the evidence. So hurry up and eat it," said Shun as he offered the food to Rei.
