I had the opportunity to read the first 20 chapters of the web novel "My Cultivation Prowess Peaks after I Buried the Great Emperor's Corpse" and overall, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I must commend the translation quality. The language used is easy to understand and flows smoothly, making it easy to immerse oneself in the story. I wont talk about the stability of the updates yet. However, I felt that the story development left something to be desired. While the concept of an invincible system that allows the protagonist to take over the corpses of the powerful and their possessions is great and adds a new level of excitement to the story, I felt that the plot moved at a slow pace and was not always engaging. Additionally, some of the characters felt underdeveloped and their motivations were not always clear. The world background is rich and detailed, giving the reader a clear understanding of the setting and the history of the world. However, I found some elements of the story hard to follow, particularly the different factions and the cultivation levels that even till chapter 20, still did not explain, which added complexity to the story but also made it hard to understand. Overall, "My Cultivation Prowess Peaks after I Buried the Great Emperor's Corpse" has its strengths and weaknesses. The translation quality are impressive, but the story development and character design left something to be desired. The world background is intriguing but can be confusing at times. Everything is good until the chapter 201 then the character becomes arrogant like any Chinese op novel the story becomes trash. Not worth it Dropped.

This is a typical Wuxia novel where the character here easily offended, the sudden interference of young master who want to kill MC without a reason, and bla bla bla.. You would see around Ch.3, MC cultivation iump from 1st major realm into the 8th major realm right away.. 1. The Physical Body realm (Ch.1) 2. The Dragon-Elephant realm 3. The Divine Treasure realm 4. The Sea of Bitterness realm 5. The Wheel of Life realm 6. The Dao Palace realm 7. The Paramita realm 8. The Divine Transformation realm (Ch.3) 9. Immortal Emperor realm The author only list out ONCE, and if you don't remember which realm is higher and how high the rank is, you would be confused when reading it.. The cultivation name is quite unique and different from others' wuxia or xianxia type of novel, which makes it harder to remember.. When you see MC jump into the 8th major realm right away, you might think this MC has a fast-paced growth progress, but it is not.. MC slowly increases the cultivation level. He rises one minor realm at a time and no longer has a huge jump cultivation rank.. For example, at Ch.100, MC is still at 9th major realm.. Yes, he only increased one major realm after 100 chapters.. For the 1st 50 chapters (Ch.4 - Ch.50+), all MC enemy or opponents have lower realms than himself.. Mostly, at 5th or 6th major realm and some are 7th major realm and only a few at 8th major realm, same as MC.. After Ch.50, MC goes to a greater world (temporarily) where he can see how weak and low his cultivation is.. Then, after returning back, he started to meet a powerhouse who was a lot stronger than him (13th or 14th major realm).. There is a huge major realm difference between MC and his opponent.. MC is also getting more and more arrogant as the story progresses.. MC talent is really pathetic.. He is at 8th major realm, and he has a friend who is at 9th major realm.. After a few months, MC is still at the 8th major realm (MC only increases one minor realm :early, middle, late, peak, prefection) while his friend is at 11th major realm (increase 2 major realm).. There are many regions in this world, and MC regions are the weakest.. Many MC opponents also have much much much higher realm than him.. And by slowly increasing the minor realm one at the time, kinda make it look boring and is the reason I stopped reading.. MC system is quite strong, but he needs to pay the appropriate price to use the system.. If MC gets 300k Fate Point (FP), the system will ask for 250k FP.. If he gets 1 million FP, the system will ask for 1 million FP.. If MC gets 100 million FP, the system will ask for 70 million FP.. So basically, the author would let MC have too much point.. I also don't like how the author makes MC behaviour look like.. Sometimes, MC acts like a stupid person.. He only has one plan, and if it fails, that's it.. He can only hope for best.. Then, some people try to sell exorbitantly to MC, which is 100k middle divine stone for a corpse, and he agrees without any care.. Sometimes, MC left his enemy running away so his enemy could bring more people for MC to kill (MC wants more corpse).. The things got from sacrifices the corpse is random.. It can be treasure, fate point, years of cultivation, pills, weapons, techniques, skills, and so on.. And mostly, MC gets weapons.. It is very rare that the MC gets anything that will increase his cultivation level.. And the story got more and more absurd and ridiculous.. The math does not make sense. The cultivation level does not make sense. The behaviour of this novel character does not make sense, and a lot more.. I stopped reading after reaching around Ch.300++..

It is a 'fun' and 'unique' story. A 'never seen before' plot. MC is a trash with no cultivation prospect. He has a fallout with his fiance who is a genius cultivator and a respected disciple of a big sect. MC gets a cheat and cultivates to a relatively high realm. He kills his fiance and those that plot against him. He kills a young master and then when the young master's patriarch comes to kill him, MC kills the patriarch and puts the entire clan to death. MC kills as easily as drinking and eating.

Don't read this novel if you're looking for something unique or interesting. This novel is just to pass time. It's a wish-fulfillment novel with a little twist. The author doesn't go hard on your usual irritation tropes. ie, young master trope, everyone is evil except the mc trope. You name it. The mc has a system to collect corpses and he gets rewarded for collecting corpses. The higher cultivation of the corpse the better the reward, and vice versa. The mc pretty much goes through all the realms and reaches 9th realm in less than 60 sum chapters. The cultivation in this novel doesn't mean much. There's nothing unique with cultivation. As long as your realm is higher then that's all it matters. The author loves to make up names for the cultivation realms. In chapter 73, we're already introduced to about 14-17 realms. The world-building and pacing are horrible. As I said, the mc has no bottlenecks and just power through cultivation like it's nothing. The mc doesn't even cultivate, the author will make the mc breakthrough into the next realm when it's convenient for the plot. As for world-building, we're introduced to the Divine Transformation realm cultivators are the powerhouse for the current area the mc is at. Suddenly, we meet people who are Heavenly realm and they are considered ants in the actual cultivation world. The funniest thing is that the Heavenly realm is the 9th realm. The power system is just all over the place. We're not even introduced to a basic explanation of the world powers by the author. How do cultivators get power? Where do they get the power from? And how does the power influence them? Instead, the author expects anyone who reads this novel to already know the basics of any xuanhuan novel. Overall, don't take this novel seriously. It's just a wish-fulfillment novel with a little twist of the mc's golden finger. The best way to read this novel is to just skim. Enjoyment Score: 6/10 or 3/5!

Dont know why this story got popular ranking of 25 with only 24 golden tickets and 68 power stones lol. This is unfair to the originals here and it seems china stories have a higher ranking when most of it sucks. Pity a english webnovel that only emphasis on translations and not its original. This is so racist and nationalism since webnovel is China. Anyway back to this story. The cultivaiton realms are make up along the way and the MC cant meet the strong cultivation realms no matter what cos he has a system. Just a comedy story with no logic or world building.

This story is relatively fast paced which a lot of people including myself like a lot. However, the lack of world building really gets to me. In any cultivation novel, or any novel with supernatural powers, there is a power system with somewhat clear rankings. For this novel though it seems the author comes up with new realms as they’re writing. The MC’s character is fine. Basically any generic Chinese cultivation novel mc who is ruthless and kills decisively. The biggest flaw, for me though is the horrendous world building and lack of clear cultivation ranks. I only read up to chapter 70 so maybe in the future chapters it got better, but that was my limit. The introduction of realms, without knowing how far it was from the MC’s current realm, was frustrating. If you like fast paced, fast food novels with a bunch of idiotic background characters, then this is for you. I would have actually enjoyed this novel if there was proper world building. Some times you just want to turn off your brain and read fast food novels.

Trash novel!! Writter never exp the explained the realms or levels. It was briefly touched upon on chapter 3 but then MC is higher level (8). Never explained about the level after those levels either and just throws realm name around like every else one knows the F he talking about. Basic Chinese bystander who mocked MC/people for no other reason than being busy buddies. The flow of the story is very rough and most progression feels very forced. 1 Star ⭐️ out of 10.

It's a great novel depending on your taste. I like It very much, and think It's a really good read. I'm still at chapter 26 but I'll see If it stays good.
